An unlocked iPhone 15 Plus is paid more than a locked one at every capacity and every grade. Verizon is the next best. AT&T sits under Verizon, T-Mobile under AT&T, and a phone locked to a smaller network under all of them. Carrier locked means the phone will only take a SIM card from the network that sold it.
Worth knowing how a grade is arrived at, because it is not an overall impression. A grade is set by the worst thing on the phone, not by how the phone looks as a whole. One deep scratch on an otherwise clean 15 Plus puts the phone where that scratch puts it. That matters more here than on a small handset. This is the biggest of the four, so there is more surface for one mark to land on. We are buying the phone rather than glancing at it, so all of it gets looked at by hand.
So grade it the way we will. Find the worst mark on the whole phone, front, back and edges, and pick the grade that mark belongs to. Done that way, the number you accept is the number we confirm.
One thing about the back of this phone makes that harder than it sounds. The color is not painted on. Apple mixed it into the glass while the glass was being made, then gave the outside a matte, frosted finish. Apple calls it color-infused back glass, and the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus are where it started.
On a painted back, a scratch shows up pale, because you are seeing a different material under the color. Here the color runs all the way through, so a scratch stays the same color as everything around it and hides in the frosted finish. Looking is not enough on this one. Run a fingernail across the back. Anything it catches on counts, and a crack or a chip anywhere grades the phone Faulty.

This is the big screen phone of the four. The iPhone 15 is the same phone at 6.1 inches. The iPhone 15 Pro Max matches the Plus for size. Check the frame instead. The Pro Max is titanium with three rear cameras, and the Plus is aluminum with two. The iPhone 15 Pro is the smaller titanium one. Against the iPhone 14 Plus, the port settles it. The 14 Plus charges over Lightning. The iPhone 16 Plus uses USB-C too. It added a camera button on the right edge.

IPHONE 15 PLUS QUESTIONS

They are two different things. A trade-in comes from a carrier or a retailer, and your phone goes against something else you are buying. It usually reaches you as credit on your bill over 24 or 36 months.
A Buyback is ours. The phone becomes ours outright and the money is yours, by gift card, PayPal, bank transfer, or check. The only thing we need is for the phone to match what you told us. Nothing else has to happen first, and nothing carries on between us afterwards.
Here, at a carrier store, at a mall kiosk, or in a listing of your own. One thing to weigh on the big models is the postage. A 6.7 inch phone is not a padded envelope job, and in a private sale you buy the box, do the packing, and carry the risk if the parcel goes astray. Our label covers the trip out and the trip home, and it costs you nothing in either direction.
Apple built a screen for this, and the iPhone 15 family was the first to get it. Open Settings, tap General, then About, and scroll down past the model rows. You'll see Cycle Count, Manufacture Date and First Use sitting together.
A cycle is one full charge worth of use, not one plug-in. Two half charges count as one. Apple designs the battery to hold about 80 percent of its capacity after 1000 cycles. The number tells you how hard your phone has worked.
Now open Settings, then Battery, then Battery Health and Charging. Read the Maximum Capacity figure. That percentage is what we grade on, and under 80 percent grades the phone Faulty. A "Service Battery" message does the same.
The cycle count is the early warning. A big cycle number with capacity still in the 80s puts you close to the line. That line moves against you every month. That's the case for selling this quarter instead of next year.
Screenshot both screens before you pick a grade. That's how the quote you accept matches the quote we confirm.
Usually not, and here's how to decide. Apple charges a set price for an iPhone 15 Plus battery. Look that price up. Then read your grade in the grid against the Faulty row.
A genuine Apple replacement resets Maximum Capacity. The phone then stops grading Faulty on battery alone. If the repair costs more than the change in grade, you're paying to lose money.
Sell it as it stands instead. Faulty is a real price here. We'd rather buy the phone honestly graded than watch you pay for a repair.
Yes. A crack or a chip anywhere grades the phone Faulty. That covers the screen, the back glass and the lens covers. We still buy it, and the price is real. Screen burn-in and a bent frame follow the same rule.
That one we refuse. A phone with no power can't be tested, and your data can't be cleared. Send it in anyway and we'll recycle it free, or mail it back to you free.
The phone grades Faulty. Anything at 80 percent or above changes nothing about your grade. You'll find the figure in Settings, then Battery, then Battery Health and Charging.
Both measure 6.7 inches, so size settles nothing. Turn the phone over and count the rear cameras. Two lenses means a Plus, three means a Pro Max.
Run a finger along the left edge as well. The Pro Max has an Action button where the mute switch used to sit. The Plus kept the sliding switch.
The frames feel different too. Titanium on the Pro Max has a brushed, matte finish. The Plus frame is shiny aluminum.
Earlier than most people do. Prices fall hardest in the weeks after Apple launches a new iPhone. Waiting for a better moment usually costs you money.
The drawer is no safer. Battery capacity drops whether the phone gets used or not, and under 80 percent it grades Faulty.

No. A clean ESN is part of every grade. We can't buy a phone reported lost or stolen, blocked by a carrier, or signed in to an Apple Account.
Back up whatever you want to keep. Sign out of iCloud so Find My switches off. Then erase the phone from Settings. Our Device Erasure Guides have the steps with pictures.

Gift card, PayPal, bank transfer, or check. Gift card averages about 3 percent more, since brands add a bonus. PayPal is instant and carries PayPal's 2.99 percent fee. Bank transfer takes 2 to 4 days, a check 3 to 5.
Keep it in proportion. The method you choose changes your total by a few percent either way. The grade you picked changes it by far more than that, so it deserves more of your attention than this question does.
