Test it properly first, because on this phone the reader is usually innocent. The Galaxy S22 Plus uses an ultrasonic reader under the display, which pushes sound through the glass and listens to what comes back. An air gap stops it. A thick tempered glass protector, or one that has lifted at an edge, can leave a healthy reader unable to see your finger at all.

Take the protector off. Delete the saved fingerprint, register it again on bare glass, and try. If it reads, your phone is fine and you keep your grade.

Neither one was ever sold above 256GB, so a phone reporting 512GB or 1TB is a Galaxy S22 Ultra.

None of them. There is no S Pen slot on a Galaxy S22 Plus and no pen was ever sold with it, so the rule that sinks an Ultra without its pen cannot touch this phone. Do not go buying a stylus. Chargers, cables, cases and boxes are not priced into the quote either, so keep them or pass them on. Send the phone on its own and nothing goes missing in the post.

Yes. Any crack or chip grades a Galaxy S22 Plus Faulty, however well the phone works otherwise, and that covers the front glass, the back glass and the glass over the three camera lenses. Burn-in is Faulty. Every Galaxy S carries an OLED panel and this one has been running since 2022, so there has been plenty of time for the status bar and the navigation bar to leave a mark. Brightness up, plain white image filling the screen, dim room, tilt it and look across the surface for a ghost of the clock or the buttons. No. Samsung phones are not graded on a battery figure here at all. There is no 80 percent line, no percentage of any kind, and no screen in your settings we are going to send you hunting for. That rule belongs to the iPhone pages and it does not travel.

The battery reaches your grade through the same door as everything else, which is whether it works. A phone that shuts off with charge still on the screen, or that will not run unless the cable is in, or that will not charge, has a failed battery and that is a functionality issue, so it is Faulty. A 4500mAh cell that has done four years and no longer lasts until bedtime is normal, and it costs you nothing.

They are not the same thing. A trade-in is what a carrier or Samsung offers you against a new phone, and what you get back is credit, usually dripped onto your bill across two or three years and gone if you switch networks. That one we have to turn down. Without power we cannot test the phone and we cannot clear your data off it, and neither of those is something we will guess at. Free recycling is the offer instead. No, not while there is a balance on it. A phone on carrier installments or on a lease is under a financial obligation, and we do not purchase devices under financial obligations. Settle it with the carrier, own the Galaxy S22 Plus properly, and then it quotes like any other phone on this page.

IMEI and Knox. An IMEI reported lost or stolen, blocked by a carrier or carrying an unpaid balance fails our check. It does not. Phantom Black, Phantom White, Pink Gold, Green, Graphite, Sky Blue, Violet and Cream all pay the identical number at the same storage and grade. Color has never moved the price on this model, so pick your size and your grade and ignore the finish.
