SELL YOUR GALAXY S23 FE
A Galaxy S23 FE is worth between $15 and $110 today. The bottom of that range is a 128GB with cracked glass, the top is a 256GB still sealed in its box, and every size, network and level of wear in between has its own line in the table further down. Those are honest numbers for a three year old midrange phone. The FE was the cheap one when it was new and it is the cheap one now, and we are not going to dress that up.
Worth being clear about what this is. A carrier's offer on an older phone is a marketing line, and marketing lines get withdrawn. Once a model stops being useful as a hook for selling something new, the offer on it quietly disappears, which is why several places will not quote an FE at all any more. A Buyback is a purchase, so the only question on our side is whether we can find the phone another owner. We can. The number gets small on a phone like this, but it does not vanish, and it does not depend on you buying anything from anybody.
There is one thing about this phone worth knowing before you pick a grade, and it is not on the box.
The Galaxy S23 FE is the only phone in the S23 family that did not get the good glass. Samsung put Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the front and back of the S23, the S23 Plus and the S23 Ultra. The FE got Gorilla Glass 5, front and back. Samsung says so itself on its own product page.
Gorilla Glass 5 is not bad glass. It is old glass. It came out in 2016, and Victus 2 is the version Corning made specifically to survive being dropped on rough ground like concrete and pavement. The FE is a 2023 phone wearing 2016 protection on both faces, and three years later that shows up in the state of the ones that reach us.
Which matters here more than it would on any other Galaxy, because of where the bottom of the table sits. Any crack, any chip, anywhere on the phone grades Faulty, and on an FE that single step down takes roughly four fifths of what the phone is worth. On an Ultra a crack is expensive. On an FE it is most of the money.
So look properly, in daylight or under a bright lamp, and use a fingernail rather than your eyes. Drag it slowly across the screen, then along all four edges, then across the back and around each of the three camera rings. Something that catches is a crack or a chip and puts you in the bottom row. Something you can only see is wear, and wear is Fair at worst. A screen protector hides a lot, so peel it off first. People have graded themselves Good on a phone that turned out to have a cracked screen under a protector, and that is a conversation nobody enjoys.
Make sure it is an FE. This one is 6.4 inches, and it is the heavy one at 7.37 ounces, heavier than the Galaxy S23 at 5.93 and even the Galaxy S23 Plus at 6.91. If it feels like the biggest phone but is not the biggest phone, it is probably this one. To be certain, open Settings, tap About phone, and look for SM-S711U or SM-S711U1.
The table is unlocked, and unlocked is well ahead on this model. On a phone worth this little, a free unlock from your carrier is a larger share of the total than it is anywhere else on the site, so if the handset is paid off it is worth asking them. They do it for nothing and it usually takes a day.
Where to sell a Galaxy S23 FE narrows down fast, because plenty of buyers stopped quoting the FE line at all. We still buy them, used, scratched or broken. Sell my Galaxy S23 FE, get a free label, and we inspect within 48 hours and pay the same day. If the phone is dead we will recycle it for free instead, wiped to Department of Defense standards, and nothing about that costs you anything.

HOW A BUYBACK WORKS
128GB or 256GB, your carrier, your grade. Take the case and the screen protector off before you decide, because on this phone the difference between a scratch and a crack is the difference between most of the money and almost none of it. The price you accept is locked for 14 days.
We email a prepaid USPS label. Remove your Google account and your Samsung account, then factory reset, then take out the SIM. Send the phone by itself. There is no S Pen on an FE and no accessory adds to the quote, so the charger, the cable and the case all stay with you.
Somebody here looks at your Galaxy S23 FE within 48 hours of the parcel arriving, and you hear what we found either way. If it matches your description the money goes out that day by gift card, PayPal, bank transfer or check. Every phone gets a Department of Defense grade wipe, bought or recycled.

GALAXY S23 FE BUYBACK QUESTIONS
Capacity, carrier and the state of the glass. A 256GB unlocked in Good condition is $90. Drop to Average and it is $77. A 128GB with a crack is $15. Put your own combination through the quote box at the top for the exact figure.
These are honest numbers for a three year old midrange phone rather than a flagship, and we would rather show you them plainly than dress one up and disappoint you later.
It has weaker glass on it, yes. Samsung's own product page lists the S23 FE with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back. The Galaxy S23, S23 Plus and S23 Ultra all got Gorilla Glass Victus 2, which is the newer version Corning built for drops onto rough surfaces like concrete.
Gorilla Glass 5 dates from 2016. It is perfectly good glass and it is also seven years older than the phone it is on. We are not going to tell you your phone will break, but across the FEs that come through this building, the front and back have taken more damage than the rest of the S23 line at the same age.
It matters because of the rule. Any crack, any chip, front, back or around a camera lens, grades Faulty. On a 256GB that is $18 instead of $90. Peel the screen protector off and check with a fingernail before you choose a grade.
Yes, and it still pays, though we will be straight with you about how much. $15 for a 128GB, $18 for a 256GB.
That is a big fall from an uncracked one and there is no way to soften it. A crack is Faulty regardless of the phone working perfectly, and on a phone that was inexpensive to start with, the broken price is what it is. Faulty is still a real payment on a free label, which beats a drawer. Pick Faulty when you quote and nothing changes when we open the box.
FE is Samsung's Fan Edition. It is not a cut-down S23 so much as a different, cheaper phone wearing the family name, and the giveaway is what is inside it: the US Galaxy S23 FE runs a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, which was the 2022 flagship chip, while the rest of the S23 line runs the 8 Gen 2. It also arrived in October 2023, eight months behind them.
To tell them apart in your hand, use size and weight. The FE is 6.4 inches and 7.37 ounces. The Galaxy S23 is smaller at 6.1 inches and much lighter at 5.93 ounces, and even the larger Galaxy S23 Plus is lighter at 6.91. The FE being heavier than the Plus surprises people every time.
The certain answer is Settings, About phone. SM-S711U is the version US carriers sold and SM-S711U1 is the US unlocked one. Both belong on this page and both quote the same.
Burn-in grades Faulty, and this phone can get it, because the FE screen is OLED like every other Galaxy S screen. Look for a permanent faint ghost of the clock, the status icons or the navigation bar, usually along the very top or the very bottom. Full brightness, a plain white image, a dim room, and tilt the phone until the light rakes across it. The full test, and Samsung's own diagnostics tool for it, is on the Galaxy S23 Plus page and works identically here.
It does. The Samsung rule is broad on purpose and it is simpler than a checklist: if something on the phone does not work, the phone is Faulty. There is no half step for a small fault.
A quiet or buzzing loudspeaker qualifies. So does an earpiece nobody can hear you through, a fingerprint reader that stopped reading, a camera stuck out of focus, a power button that needs two presses, or wireless charging that has given up. Choose Faulty, take the Faulty price, and there is nothing to argue about when it gets here.
No. There is no battery percentage rule on Samsung phones at all, so there is no number to look up and no screen to go find. A 4,500 mAh battery three years into its life that needs an afternoon top up is a normal three year old battery and it does not change what you are paid. The only battery that affects your grade is one that has genuinely stopped working, and that is covered by the same rule as any other broken part.
Not that one. Without power we cannot test the phone, and neither of us can clear your data off it, so putting a price on it would be guessing. Give it an hour on a wall charger with a cable you know works before you accept it is dead. If it truly is, send it on the free label anyway and we will recycle it at no cost with a Department of Defense grade wipe first, or mail it back to you, also free. On a phone in this price range, free recycling is often the sensible answer.
Not until those payments are done. A phone on an installment plan or a lease is under a financial obligation and we cannot purchase it. Call your carrier, ask for the payoff amount, and be aware that on an FE the payoff is often more than the phone will fetch, so it is worth checking the arithmetic before you go any further.
No, and there are three separate locks worth checking.
Factory Reset Protection, which is the Google account lock, has to be cleared. Remove your Google account and your Samsung account in Settings first, then run the factory reset. In that order. Reset first and the lock stays on, the next owner cannot get past the setup screen, and the phone comes back to you.
Knox has to be untripped. If the phone was rooted or had unofficial software put on it, Knox trips permanently and we cannot buy it at any grade.
The IMEI has to be clean. Reported lost, reported stolen or blocked by a carrier all fail. Dial star hash zero six hash to read the IMEI off the phone in a couple of seconds.
It does, and on a cheap phone it is a bigger slice than you would think. A 256GB in Good condition: unlocked $90, AT&T $68, Verizon $64, T-Mobile $63.
The table on this page is unlocked, so switch it in the quote box if that is not you. If the phone is paid off, ask the carrier to unlock it. They do it free, it usually takes a day, and here it is worth around a quarter of the whole payout.
No. Mint, Graphite, Cream, Purple and the colors Samsung kept for its own website all pay the same to the cent. Nobody has ever been paid more for a Mint one.
Sometimes on paper, rarely in your pocket. Trade-in offers on an FE tend to look generous because they are promotional: the number is tied to buying a specific new phone, and it usually arrives as bill credit split across 24 or 36 months of staying on that plan. Leave early and the rest of it stops.
A Buyback is a purchase and nothing else. We buy your Galaxy S23 FE, the money is cash, and you can spend it on anything or nothing. Compare the trade-in offer against the number on this page, and check whether the credit survives you changing your mind.
Back up what you want, then work in this order. Settings, Accounts and backup, Manage accounts, remove your Google account and your Samsung account. Then Settings, General management, Reset, Factory data reset. Accounts first, always, because that is the step that switches off the Google account lock. Full instructions with screenshots are on our erase your device page.
Take the SIM out afterwards, and delete any eSIM you set up. Your photos, your messages and your saved passwords are erased and they cannot be recovered. We then wipe the phone again to Department of Defense standards on arrival.
Four options at checkout. A gift card, emailed, worth roughly 3 percent more because the brands add their own bonus. PayPal, which is instant and costs 2.99 percent in PayPal's own fee. A bank transfer in 2 to 4 days. A check in 3 to 5. They all go out the same day your phone passes inspection. On a payout this size the gift card bonus is worth a look, since 3 percent of a small number is still free money.
Sealed Brand New phones are PayPal only, and that is the one restriction. Brand New and Flawless pay the same figure at both storage sizes on this model, so an opened phone with no marks on it is better quoted as Flawless, where all four payment methods stay open to you and the gift card bonus comes with them.
Capacity, carrier and the grade the glass actually deserves. About a minute, and the Buyback price holds for 14 days.
