SELL YOUR GALAXY S20 FE
A Galaxy S20 FE is worth between $8 and $51. The bottom is a phone with a crack in it. The top is one still sealed in the box. Storage does not move it and neither does the color, so the whole spread comes down to the state of the phone and the network it is locked to. The Fan Edition was the cheap one when it was new and six years have not been kind to it, but it is still worth more than the drawer is paying.
Your carrier will call this a trade-in, and what it hands back is credit against next month's bill. We are not selling you anything, so there is no bill to put credit on. A Buyback is us paying for the Galaxy S20 FE and keeping it, and what you get is money, in one piece, on the day the phone clears inspection.
One thing on this model decides more of your price than the scratches do, and almost nobody checks it.
Open Settings, About phone, Model number. Every other Galaxy S in our catalog has two US model numbers. The Galaxy S20 FE has three: SM-G781U, SM-G781U1 and SM-G781V. The first is the version sold through carriers, the second is the one Samsung sold unlocked, and the third is a build Verizon had made for its own network.
That third one is worth real money to know about. Unlocked pays the most by a distance, a Verizon or T-Mobile handset pays the least, and the four figures are set out in the questions further down. The gap between networks on this phone is wider than the gap between two grades of wear, so the five seconds it takes to read your model number is the best paid five seconds on this page. If the phone is paid off, ask the carrier to release it before you sell.
Storage, on the other hand, does nothing at all here. A 256GB Galaxy S20 FE and a 128GB one are worth exactly the same at every single grade. If you paid extra for the bigger one in 2020, that money is gone, and there is no point hunting through Settings for the capacity.
Make sure it is an FE. Samsung wrote FE nowhere on the phone, so look at the screen instead: the Galaxy S20 FE has a flat 6.5 inch display, which is Samsung's own word for it, while the Galaxy S20 5G, the Galaxy S20+ 5G and the Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G all curve over their long edges. Hold it side on and you can see it in a second. If the model number does not begin SM-G781, you are on the wrong page.
Then grade it honestly, because the rest is simple. A crack or a chip anywhere makes it Faulty even if everything works. Burn-in on the screen makes it Faulty. And anything on the phone that has stopped working makes it Faulty, which on a Samsung is a principle rather than a list, so a dead button counts the same as a dead camera.
Sell my Galaxy S20 FE and sell broken Galaxy S20 FE both bring back plenty of offers, and at this price the risk is not the headline number, it is what the number becomes after somebody inspects it. We check every phone by hand and tell you what we found. Where to sell a used Galaxy S20 FE, on a phone worth this little, really means who will still pay the shipping both ways, and we do. If it will not power on we cannot buy it, but we will recycle it free and wipe it on the way.
LIVE PRICES
The used resale value of a Galaxy S20 FE runs from $8 for a cracked one up to $51 for one still sealed in the box. Most of them land at Fair or Average.
Both columns are unlocked, and both columns are identical, because storage makes no difference to what this phone is worth. The figures come off our live price feed.
| Comparison row | 128GB | 256GB |
|---|---|---|
Brand New | $51 | $51 |
Flawless | $51 | $51 |
Good | $41 | $41 |
Average | $36 | $36 |
Fair | $25 | $25 |
Faulty | $8 | $8 |
HOW IT WORKS
Read your model number first, because network is the thing that moves this quote. Then pick the grade. Storage you can choose either way, since both sizes pay the same. Accept the figure and we hold it for 14 days while the phone travels.
The prepaid USPS label comes by email. Sign out of your Google account and factory reset the phone before it goes in the box, and keep the charger, the cable and the case. None of them adds anything to the price and you may as well hold on to them.
Inspection happens within 48 hours of arrival. If the phone is what you said it was, payment leaves the same day by gift card, PayPal, bank transfer or check. Everything that reaches us gets a Department of Defense grade wipe, bought or recycled, and if you would rather have it back we mail it free.

GALAXY S20 FE BUYBACK QUESTIONS
Grade and network, and nothing else. Flawless is $51, Good is $41, Fair is $25 and a cracked one is $8, the same at 128GB and 256GB. The quote box at the top of the page has your exact number.
Settings, About phone, Model number. SM-G781U is the build sold through the carriers, SM-G781U1 is the unlocked one Samsung sold directly, and SM-G781V is the version Verizon had made for its own network. Three numbers is unusual: every other Galaxy S we buy has two. All three are the same phone to us, but what the phone is locked to changes the price.
It matters to the number. In Good condition an unlocked Galaxy S20 FE is $41, a Verizon one is $23, an AT&T one is $36 and a T-Mobile one is $21. We still buy all of them. Pick the right network when you quote, and if the phone is paid off, ask the carrier to release it first, because that is worth more than a grade of wear.
Look at the phone side on. The FE has a flat screen and the Galaxy S20+ 5G curves over both long edges. The FE also has three cameras on the back and the Plus has four, and the FE is 6.5 inches against the Plus at 6.7, which is close enough that the screen shape is the faster test. The model number settles any argument: SM-G781 is the FE.
No. On this model the two sizes are worth exactly the same at every grade, which is unusual and worth saying plainly. Choose either one in the quote box and the number does not move. Put your effort into getting the grade and the network right instead.
Yes. Any crack or chip, front or back, makes the phone Faulty, and that is true even when it powers on and works normally. On this phone Faulty is $8, which is honestly not much, so if the number is not worth the trip we will recycle it for free instead and still cover the postage. Take the screen protector off before you decide, because a cracked protector over an undamaged screen fools people every week.
Then it is Faulty. The Galaxy S20 FE has an OLED panel like every Galaxy S, and after six years of the same icons in the same places a ghost can be baked in. Check it with a plain white screen at full brightness in a dim room, tilted away from you. Faint navigation buttons or a shadow of the clock is burn-in. The step by step version, and the list of things that are not burn-in, is on our Galaxy S23+ page.
Sellable, but Faulty. Samsung grading here works on a principle rather than a checklist: if something on the phone does not work, the phone is Faulty. That covers a button, the fingerprint reader, a camera, a speaker, the microphone, charging, a patch of the screen that will not respond. Go around them all before you quote. It takes two minutes and it is better than being re-graded after the phone has left your hands.
Not by itself. There is no battery percentage rule on Samsung phones at all, so there is no figure to look up and no threshold to fall below. A worn six year old battery is expected. If the battery has actually failed, the phone is Faulty, but that is the general rule about things not working rather than a battery rule.
Not for a payment. A phone with no power cannot be tested and your data cannot be cleared off it, and that second reason is the one that decides it. Free recycling is the offer instead, with free shipping and the same Department of Defense wipe, or we mail it back to you at no cost if you would rather keep it.
Four things. A phone still on an installment plan or a lease is under a financial obligation, so it has to be paid off first. A blacklisted, lost, stolen or carrier blocked IMEI fails on arrival. A Google account or FRP lock means nobody but you can set the phone up, so sign out before you send it. And a tripped Knox counter cannot be undone. None of those is about wear, and none of them can be graded around.
It depends what you want the money for. A carrier offer on a phone this old is usually a small credit spread across your bill, and it only exists while you stay with them. A Buyback is cash, once, and it is the same whichever network you move to next. Get both numbers before you decide, and check whether theirs requires a new line.
No. Cloud Red, Cloud Orange, Cloud Lavender, Cloud Mint, Cloud Navy and Cloud White are all worth the same. The Fan Edition colors were the best thing about this phone and they are worth nothing extra, which seems unfair but there it is.
Gift card, PayPal, bank transfer or check. Gift cards average about 3 percent more because the brands add a bonus, which matters at this end of the price range. PayPal is instant and takes PayPal's 2.99 percent fee. Bank transfer takes 2 to 4 days and a check 3 to 5. A phone graded Brand New can only be paid through PayPal.
Sign out of your Google account, then factory reset the phone from Settings. Doing it in that order matters, because a reset while the account is still signed in can leave the phone locked when it gets here. The erasing guide has the steps. When it arrives we wipe it again to Department of Defense standards, so your photos, messages and saved passwords are erased and cannot be recovered.
Check your model number, pick a grade, and see the figure. It takes about a minute, and we hold the price for 14 days.
