The second is a check most sellers never run. The charging coil sits under the back glass, and a hard landing on the back can break that connection while the cable still works perfectly. So the phone looks fine, charges fine on a wire, and quietly fails the one test nobody does. Leave it on the pad for a minute and make sure the battery figure actually climbs rather than the screen flashing once and giving up. If it will not charge on a pad, something on the phone does not work, and anything not working grades Faulty even when the screen is spotless.
Thick cases and metal ring holders stop wireless charging too, so take all of that off before you decide the phone has a problem.

We email a prepaid USPS label. Sign out of your Google account, erase the phone, take the SIM and any memory card out of the tray, and box it. Keep the charger, the cable, the pad and the case. None of it adds anything to your price.
The Xperia 5 IV is checked by hand within 48 hours of arriving. If it matches what you told us, payment leaves the same day by gift card, PayPal, bank transfer or check. Every phone is wiped to Department of Defense standards, bought or recycled.

Wireless charging is something this phone is supposed to do, so a phone that will not do it has a fault, and any fault grades Faulty even if the cable still charges it perfectly and the screen is unmarked. Check it properly before you decide: case off, phone centered on the pad, left there for a full minute to see whether the battery figure really climbs. A knock to the back is the usual cause, because the charging coil sits under the back glass.
Count the camera lenses on the back. The Xperia 5 IV has three. The Xperia 5 V has two, because Sony dropped the separate telephoto lens for that generation. The model number backs it up: XQ-CQ is the 5 IV and XQ-DE is the 5 V.
Yes, at every grade, by about ten dollars. With light wear that is $120 for the 256GB against $110 for the 128GB. Settings, then Storage, shows the total capacity if you never noticed which one you bought.
Yes. A crack or a chip anywhere, screen, back or lens cover, moves the phone to Faulty and it stays there whatever else works. It is still a price: $24 for a 256GB and $22 for a 128GB. Choose Faulty when you quote and nothing changes when we open the box.
Average is wear you can see but not feel. Tilt the phone under a lamp and you will find the scuffs and the light scratches, and then a fingernail glides straight over them. That is Average. If nothing shows at arm's length it is Good, and if your nail catches on anything it is Fair. Any crack, chip or fault skips the ladder entirely and lands on Faulty.
Yes. This is an OLED panel and burn-in grades the phone Faulty. It is less common on a 2022 phone than an older one, but it happens where something sat on screen for months. Full brightness, a plain white image, and look for the shadow of the status bar or the navigation buttons.
That on its own is not a grade. Android phones have no battery percentage rule here, so nothing to check and nothing to send us. It only counts when the battery has actually failed, meaning the phone shuts down by itself or will not run without the cable, and then it is Faulty like any other fault.
