You will see this called a trade-in almost everywhere else. We call it a Buyback because we do more with the phone than a carrier does: a Department of Defense wipe, a tracked journey both ways, a hand inspection, and a written note of anything we find.
The condition you pick is what decides your number, and the Android rules behind it are not the Apple ones. There is no checklist of qualifying faults. The rule is a principle: if something on the phone does not work, the phone is Faulty. Not one grade down, straight to Faulty. A dead speaker does it. A mic nobody can hear you through does it. So does a button that has gone soft or a charging port that only works if you hold the cable at an angle.
Rather than asking you to remember all that, your Pixel will test itself. Open the Phone app, tap the keypad and dial *#*#7287#*#*. Pixel Diagnostics opens and walks the screen, touch, the buttons, the speakers, the mics, the cameras, the sensors and charging. It is a Google tool built into the phone, not something we made up, and it takes a few minutes. It wants Wi-Fi and it is not switched on everywhere, so if nothing happens when you dial it, do the same checks by hand instead: ring the phone, record a voice memo and play it back, press every button, and put it on a charger.
Two things the code cannot catch. Cracks and chips are graded by eye, and any crack or chip on the screen, the back or a lens cover means Faulty however well the phone works. And burn-in, a faint permanent ghost of the clock or the navigation pill in the OLED panel, which is also Faulty on its own.
Where to sell a Pixel 10 is mostly a question of who will be straight with you about that list. We buy used ones and broken ones, the mailing label and the return are both free, and a phone that will not power on gets free recycling rather than a lowball, because we cannot test it or erase your data from it.

Run the diagnostics code first so you are picking a condition you know is right, then choose 128GB or 256GB, your carrier and your grade. Your Buyback price is held for 14 days from the moment you accept it.
A prepaid USPS label lands in your inbox. Remove your Google account first, then factory reset the phone, otherwise it arrives locked to you and has to go straight back. Pop the SIM out and keep your cable and case, they are not part of the price.
Someone here checks the phone by hand within 48 hours of it arriving and tells you what they found. Matching phones are paid the same day by gift card, PayPal, bank transfer or check. Every phone is wiped to Department of Defense standards whether we buy it or recycle it.

PIXEL 10 BUYBACK QUESTIONS
A 256GB with light wear you would not notice at arm's length is $260. Add wear you can see up close and it is $234. Crack it, or break something on it, and it is $52. Quote yours at the top of the page and you will have the exact number in about a minute.
Your phone will do it for you. Open the Phone app, go to the keypad and dial *#*#7287#*#*. That opens Pixel Diagnostics, Google's own built-in hardware test, and it steps through the display, touch, the buttons, the speakers, the mics, the cameras, the sensors and charging. Give it a few minutes and a Wi-Fi connection.
It is not available in every region, so if the code does nothing, five hand tests cover the important parts: ring the phone and listen to the earpiece and the loudspeaker, record a voice memo and play it back, press every button twice, tap 0.5x, 1x and 5x in the camera app and check each one gives a genuinely different view, and plug it in to charge.
This matters more on an Android phone than on an iPhone, because the rule is broader. It is not a list of specific faults. If something on the phone does not work, the phone is Faulty. On a 256GB that is the difference between $260 and $52, which is why it is worth the few minutes before you pick a grade.
Count the circles on the camera bar. The Pixel 10 has three lenses, a wide, an ultrawide and a 5x telephoto. The Pixel 10a has two, with no telephoto at all, so it has no 5x button in the camera app. Open the camera and look at the zoom buttons: if 5x is there as a real option, you have a Pixel 10.
The backs feel different too. A Pixel 10 has a glass back. The 10a has a composite one, which is warmer to the touch and does not chill in a cold room the way glass does. And the colors do not overlap: Indigo, Frost, Lemongrass and Obsidian on the Pixel 10, Lavender, Berry, Fog and Obsidian on the 10a.
Both are 6.3 inch phones with three cameras, so this is the harder pair. Color splits them fastest: the Pixel 10 came in Indigo, Frost, Lemongrass and Obsidian, and the Pixel 10 Pro came in Moonstone, Jade, Porcelain and Obsidian. Only black is shared. If yours is black, storage decides it, because the Pixel 10 was only sold in 128GB and 256GB, so a 512GB or 1TB phone is a Pro. Settings, About phone, Model is the last word: GLBW0 is a Pixel 10.
GLBW0 in the US. Do not turn the phone over hunting for it, because Google does not print a model code on a Pixel anywhere on the hardware. It is on the retail box and in Settings, About phone, under Model. The Settings route is the one to use, since boxes get thrown out and phones do not.
Yes, and it still has a price. Any crack or chip, front, back or over one of the camera lenses, grades the phone Faulty. That is $48 on a 128GB and $52 on a 256GB. Pick Faulty at the quote step and describe it plainly, and nothing changes when the phone gets here.
One check worth doing first: peel off any screen protector. A shattered protector over a perfectly good screen is the most common false alarm we see, and it is an expensive one to get wrong in the wrong direction.
It does, and it grades the phone Faulty by itself. The Pixel 10 has an OLED screen, and OLED panels can permanently keep a faint image of anything that sat in the same pixels for long enough, usually the clock, the status bar icons or the navigation pill. Short check: brightness up, dim room, plain white screen, look for a ghost. Our Pixel 10 Pro XL page has the full version of the test and the list of things that look like burn-in but are not.
There is not. No 80 percent rule, no minimum percentage, and nothing in Settings you need to photograph for us. Battery grading is an iPhone thing and it does not apply to any Android phone we buy. A Pixel 10 that needs a top-up by mid afternoon is graded on its screen, its glass and whether everything works, exactly like one that lasts all day. The only battery that changes anything is one that has stopped working, and that falls under the general rule.
Not for money. A phone that will not power up cannot be tested, so we would be guessing, and your photos, messages and saved passwords cannot be erased off it, which is the real problem. Send it in anyway if you want it gone: recycling is free, we run a Department of Defense wipe first, and we dispose of it properly. If you would rather it came home, the return is free too.
Not while a balance is running. Phones on monthly carrier installments or a lease count as being under a financial obligation, and we do not purchase devices under financial obligations. Clear the plan, wait for your carrier to mark the phone as owned outright, then quote it here as normal.
No to both, and it is worth knowing they are separate checks with separate fixes.
The Google account lock is yours to solve. Factory reset protection keeps the phone tied to the account that was signed in, so a reset alone is not enough. Remove the account in Settings first, then reset, and it is gone.
A blocked IMEI cannot be solved by either of us. Lost, stolen or carrier blocked phones fail that check and we mail them back. Your IMEI is in Settings, About phone if you want to be sure before you send it.
It does, by a wide margin. A 256GB in Good condition is $260 unlocked against $179 on AT&T, then Verizon, then T-Mobile, then Other. Worth noting that Verizon sits above T-Mobile on this model, which is the opposite of how the Pro pages run, so quote your real carrier rather than assuming. If the phone is paid off and you can get it unlocked first, do that.
No. Indigo, Frost, Lemongrass and Obsidian all pay the same at both capacities and every condition. Color is useful for working out which Pixel you own, and useless for working out what it pays.
Two steps, in order. Settings, Passwords and accounts, tap your Google account, Remove account. Then Settings, System, Reset options, Erase all data (factory reset). Doing the account first is what releases factory reset protection, and doing it the other way round is why phones come back to their owners. Your photos, messages and saved passwords are erased and they cannot be recovered. Our erase your device page has it written out step by step. We wipe the phone again ourselves when it arrives.
Pick one of four when you accept the quote. Gift cards land by email and pay about 3 percent more than the rest, because the brands add a bonus. PayPal is instant and PayPal charges 2.99 percent for it. A bank transfer takes 2 to 4 days, a check 3 to 5.
