One word first, because it is the thing people type to get here. A trade-in is your carrier's arrangement, and it pays in credit against your account. What we run is a Buyback: we buy the Pro outright and send you money. Same phone, two different figures, and this page shows ours.
That part is the camera bump. Apple grew it a lot for the 13 Pro. Bigger sensors, a 3x telephoto and the first macro lens Apple shipped all had to fit, so the plateau got taller and wider, and the three sapphire covers on top of it are the highest points on the whole phone.
Put the Pro face up on a desk and those covers are what touches the desk. Every grain of sand on that surface reaches the lens glass before it reaches anything else. That is why the covers, not the back, are where Pros pick up damage.
Two minutes will tell you where yours stands. Hold the phone under a lamp and tilt it slowly so the light rakes across the plateau at a shallow angle. A chip catches the light as a bright line or a star. A clean cover shows nothing. Then open the Camera app, aim at a bright bulb, and step through 0.5x, 1x and 3x. A damaged cover throws a flare or a haze that sits in the same place while you move the phone, and it will only show on one of the three.
A chipped lens cover is a chip in glass, so it grades Faulty, exactly like a cracked screen. That is true even when your photos still look fine. What is not a fault: the rock. Set any iPhone 13 Pro on a flat table and it wobbles on the camera bump. Every one of them has done that since the day it was made, and nobody is downgrading you for it.
The rest of it is straightforward. Selling an iPhone 13 Pro here means a free label, an inspection inside 48 hours and cash instead of carrier credit. Even a Faulty one has a number against it, one for each capacity, and they are the bottom row of the table.

HOW IT WORKS
Capacity first, then the network the phone is locked to, then the grade. Do the lamp test on the camera covers before you answer the grade question, because that is the check most Pro sellers skip. Your Buyback price is fixed for 14 days from the moment you accept it.
We email a prepaid USPS label. Erase the Pro, then pack it with the camera side away from anything hard, since that plateau is the part that takes knocks in transit. Leave the box and cables at home unless you are selling it sealed.
A technician works through the glass, the frame, the three lens covers, the buttons, the speakers, Face ID and the battery reading, and runs the ESN against the blacklists. Agree with your description and payment goes out the same day. Disagree and you get told what we found and what it does to the number before anything is paid.

Capacity, network and condition. A 512GB in Good shape is $285, the same one at Average is $259, and at Fair it is $171. A 1TB Pro with a chipped lens cover still pays $89. The quote tool gives you the figure for your exact phone.
It does, and unlocked is the one that pays most. A Brand New 1TB unlocked pays $345, against $318 for the same phone on AT&T. At Flawless the unlocked 1TB pays $325 against $300 on AT&T. T-Mobile, Verizon and every other network we price sit below unlocked too.
The size of the gap moves around by grade and by capacity, so there is no rule to memorize. Put in the network your Pro is genuinely locked to and read the number the tool gives you. If it is unlocked, say unlocked. Claiming a carrier your phone is not on gets caught at inspection and costs you time.
Yes, straight to Faulty. Those covers are glass, and our rule on cracks and chips does not care which piece of glass on the phone it happens to be. A chipped lens cover sits alongside a cracked screen and a cracked back, all three landing in the same place.
Tell us up front and the price you see is the price you get. Send it in as Good and hope, and the number changes at inspection, which only wastes a week of your time.
Almost certainly not. The camera plateau is thicker than the rest of the phone, so a 13 Pro lying face up sits on the bump and tips. Brand new ones do it in the Apple Store. A bent frame is something you feel rather than see: hold the phone by both ends and it flexes, or one rail no longer meets the glass cleanly. That is a Faulty grade. A wobble on a desk is not.
Count the rear lenses. Three means Pro. Two means the iPhone 13, which is a different page with different prices. The Pro also has a stainless steel band around the edge that shows fingerprints, where the 13 has a matte aluminum one, and only the Pro was sold with 1TB of storage.
Size, and nothing else worth checking. The Pro is 6.1 inches, the iPhone 13 Pro Max is 6.7. Side by side it is obvious. Alone it is not, so open Settings, General, About and read the Model Name line. Both take the same three cameras and the same four storage sizes, but the Pro Max pays more, which is a good reason to be sure.
Look at storage first. Open Settings, General, About and read Capacity. If it says 1TB, it is a 13 Pro, because the 12 Pro stopped at 512GB. Then try macro: open Camera and move very close to something small. A 13 Pro switches to the macro view on its own. A 12 Pro cannot, and the picture stays blurred. The camera plateau is also visibly larger on the 13 Pro, though that is hard to judge without the older phone next to it.
Both are an iPhone 13 Pro. A2483 is the US phone and A2638 is the general international one. A2636 covers Canada, Japan, Mexico and Saudi Arabia, A2639 covers mainland China, Hong Kong and Macao, and A2640 covers Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia. No marks anywhere. Turn it under a light: front glass, back glass, both stainless rails and the camera plateau. One hairline scratch you can find with your eyes puts it at Good rather than Flawless, and Good is not a punishment, it is the honest word for a phone that has been used.
Brand New is a separate thing again. That means sealed, never activated, everything still in the box, and it is the only grade we pay through PayPal alone.
Yes. Cracks and chips make it Faulty and Faulty has a price on this page, $78 for a 256GB and $86 for a 512GB. The back glass on a Pro is expensive to replace, which is why the gap between Fair and Faulty is as wide as it is. We would still rather buy it than have you throw it in a drawer.
Under 80 percent, or a service battery message on that screen, means Faulty. Read it in Settings, Battery, Battery Health and Charging. From 80 percent up it makes no difference to the grade at all. On a phone this old it is worth a look before you commit to a grade, since ProMotion screens and heavy camera use are hard on a battery.
Not for money. Nothing on the phone can be tested and nothing can be erased from it, and we will not pay for a device we cannot open up and confirm. Leave it on a charger for thirty minutes before you write it off, because a flat battery and a dead phone behave the same way. If it stays black, send it in and choose free recycling or a free return.
No. While there are payments running on it, whether a carrier installment plan or a lease, the phone is under a financial obligation and outside what we can buy. Clear the balance with your carrier first. Then it quotes here like any other Pro.
No. A clean ESN sits behind every grade, Faulty included. Reported lost or stolen, blocked by a carrier for an unpaid bill, or still signed in to an Apple Account all stop the sale. The Apple Account one you can fix yourself in Settings before you ship. The other two you cannot.
Back it up, sign out of your Apple Account so Find My releases the phone, then run Erase All Content and Settings. It has to reach us with Find My off. The erasure guides show every screen if you want to follow along, and we run a Department of Defense grade wipe on arrival regardless.
Payment is a gift card, PayPal, a bank transfer or a check, and it leaves the day inspection finishes. The gift card is about 3 percent above the cash figure because brands add a bonus. PayPal is instant with their 2.99 percent fee taken out. A transfer is 2 to 4 days, a check 3 to 5. Brand New phones are PayPal only.
