IPHONE 12 PRO MAX BUYBACK
We pay between $63 and $286 for an iPhone 12 Pro Max. Capacity, condition, and carrier are the three selections that will modify the price.
An unlocked Pro Max is paid more than a locked one at every capacity and every grade. That is worth saying, because it is not true everywhere in this family. Verizon comes closest. AT&T and T-Mobile sit level with each other, below Verizon. A phone locked to a smaller network sits lowest. Carrier locked means the phone will only take a SIM card from the network that sold it.
You will probably have a trade-in figure from your carrier as well, and we are not going to tell you which one is bigger. We cannot. Their number moves with the promotion running that month and with your own account. What we can do is tell you what to hold against what. Ours is one cash figure, paid once, for the phone on its own. Theirs is usually credit against a bill. Add up what actually reaches you across the full term. Then check what happens to the rest of it if you leave early. Put the two totals side by side. If theirs is the bigger one, take it.
One thing about this particular phone. At 6.7 inches it has the largest screen of the four in this generation, and it is the costliest of the four to repair. That makes a replaced screen worth checking for before you pick a grade.
A replaced or aftermarket display grades the phone Faulty, and plenty of owners do not know theirs has one. A repair done years ago counts. So does a phone you bought second hand. The check takes ten seconds. Open Settings, tap General, then About, and scroll to the bottom. If a screen or a battery has been swapped, a line called Parts and Service History is sitting there. On a phone nobody has opened, that line does not appear at all.
LIVE PRICES
The used resale value of an iPhone 12 Pro Max runs from $63 to $286. What you see here are unlocked numbers. They come out of the live pricing feed behind your quote. They shift with the market. Carrier-locked phones get quoted on their own.

HOW IT WORKS
Set the storage to 128GB, 256GB or 512GB. Add the carrier. Add the grade that matches the wear. The Buyback price you accept is locked for 14 days. Postal delays can't touch it.
Your prepaid USPS label comes by email. Erase the phone before it goes anywhere. This is a big handset. Use a box rather than a padded envelope, and give the screen room. Hand it over at any post office. We pay the postage both ways, refund included.
Someone puts eyes and hands on your Pro Max within 48 hours of arrival. If the phone is as described, payment goes the same day. We pay via gift card, PayPal, bank transfer, or check. If the check turns up something new, you get an email. It shows the fault and the adjusted offer.

IPHONE 12 PRO MAX QUESTIONS
Three things set it between them. Storage bought, carrier locked to, and how hard the phone has been used. Unlocked prices for every grade are in the table on this page. The quote tool prices your exact phone in under a minute.
They work differently. A carrier applies its figure against a new phone or a plan, and the credit comes back to you across two or three years of billing. Cancel early and the rest of it can stop.
Ours is a straight sale. We buy the Pro Max and you get paid once. Nothing about your phone plan changes, and nothing depends on you buying anything from anybody.
Options include us, carrier stores, big electronics retailers, kiosks and classified listings. Large Pro models hold interest well, so you'll find takers. Getting our Buyback price first gives you a floor to judge the others against.
Shake the phone gently and you may hear a soft click from the camera. That noise is normal on this model. It worries plenty of sellers into grading a healthy phone as Faulty.
The Pro Max is the only iPhone 12 with sensor-shift stabilization. Apple floats the sensor itself on tiny magnets rather than moving the lens. That's what cancels your hand shake. A floating part moves when you shake it. That's the rattle.
Test whether it actually works, because that part does matter. Open the Camera app in a dim room. Stay on the main 1x lens. Hold the phone at arm's length and take a photo while breathing normally. Then film ten seconds of video while you walk. A working stabilizer gives a sharp still and video that glides.
Blurry stills in decent light, shaky footage, a preview that shudders. Any of those points to a failed unit. That's a fault, so the phone grades Faulty. Chipped or cracked glass over any lens gives the same answer. It happens easily on a camera bump this size.
Rattle on its own changes nothing. Grade the phone on the photos it takes and the state of its glass. We do exactly the same at inspection.
Flawless means no marks at all. Not light ones, none. Check the screen, the back glass, the band and all four corners in strong light.
Find a single scratch and the honest grade is Good or Average. It depends on whether you see it at arm's length. Flawless is rare on a five year old phone. Check before you claim it. Brand New sits above Flawless and means a sealed box that was never opened.
Yes. We take cracked screens, split back glass, chipped edges and broken lens covers. All of them price as Faulty here.
Big phones crack more often. There's more glass, and a longer drop onto a corner. There's a real number waiting for it either way.
No. A phone that won't power up can't be tested and can't be erased. Buying it would mean guessing. We'll take it in for free recycling, or post it back to you free. Your choice.
Below 80 percent the phone grades Faulty. The Pro Max carries the biggest battery of this generation. That fools people. A large cell still loses capacity with every charge.
Check yours right now. Settings, then Battery, then Battery Health and Charging. Maximum Capacity is the line that decides it. Write the number down and grade from that, not from how the phone feels.
Big batteries hide their age well. A Pro Max that still runs all day can easily read 78 percent. That reading puts it on the Faulty row, not the Good one.
We read the same screen when your phone arrives. A servicing message in place of the percentage means Faulty too. Either way we buy it. The grade is all that shifts.
Sooner rather than at the end of the year. Every September brings new models, and the used market resets downward once they arrive.
Waiting also risks the battery. Capacity slides in use and in a drawer alike. Under 80 percent, the phone grades Faulty.
Yes, and on this model the order is stable. We measured all ninety price squares today. Unlocked is highest on every one of them. Verizon is next. AT&T and T-Mobile are level with each other on every square, below Verizon. A phone on a smaller network is lowest. Tell the tool which carrier holds your phone.
A Flawless 128GB unlocked Pro Max is $225 with us. We pay the day your phone clears.
No, not with a balance on it. We don't purchase devices under financial obligations. A phone on a monthly plan or a lease has to wait. Finish the payments, own it outright, and the quote is open again.
No. Every grade on this page requires a clean ESN. We send home phones on a blacklist, phones reported lost or stolen, and phones a carrier has barred. A phone still signed in to an Apple Account goes home too.
The Apple Account part is on you, and it takes a minute. Sign out before the phone goes in the box.
Take the case off and send the phone bare. Cases and skins get separated in handling and we can't return them. Keep anything you like.
Leave a glass screen protector on if it's already there. Peeling one off in a hurry can lift a corner of the display film. A protector hides nothing from us anyway.
Start with a backup to iCloud or a computer. Sign out of your Apple Account next, which switches Find My off. Finish with Erase All Content and Settings, in the General section of Settings. Step by step screens are in our Device Erasure Guides.
Forget a step and nothing is lost. Every phone we receive gets a Department of Defense standard wipe.
You choose the method. We pay via gift card, PayPal, bank transfer, or check. Gift cards come out around 3 percent ahead thanks to brand bonuses. PayPal is immediate and carries PayPal's 2.99 percent fee. Bank transfer takes 2 to 4 days. Check takes 3 to 5.
Worth being straight about the gift card. The 3 percent is real, and it is only worth 3 percent if you were going to spend it at that brand anyway. If you were not, one of the cash methods is the better deal even though the headline figure is smaller.
Money goes out on inspection day, whichever method you picked.
One rule sits on top of all of it. A phone graded Brand New is paid by PayPal only. The other three are not offered on a sealed Pro Max.
Pick storage, carrier and grade. Your Buyback price is yours to keep for 14 days.
