Almost certainly not. US iPhone 12 Pro models carry an mmWave antenna window in the stainless band. It looks exactly like a hairline fracture in the metal. This causes more wrong Faulty grades on this model than anything else.

Confirm the model first. Settings, then General, then About, then Model Number. Tap it to show the A number. A2341 is the US iPhone 12 Pro, and that's the version with the window.

Now find the mark. It sits in the band on the right side, a small rectangle in the metal. It should be flush with everything around it. Draw a fingernail sideways across it. Factory windows are smooth, and your nail crosses without a catch.

A nail that snags is a different story. Chips, dents and hairline splits in that panel are real damage. A chip anywhere on the phone grades it Faulty. Look closely in daylight before you decide.

So the same feature answers both ways. Smooth and rectangular means it's the antenna. Grade the phone on everything else. Rough, cracked or chipped means Faulty. Faulty is a priced row here rather than a refusal.

Average is wear you can see up close but can't feel. Fine scratches on the display, dulled corners on the band, nothing a fingernail drops into.

Look at the frame under a lamp. Stainless steel shows swirl marks that aluminum hides. Plenty of clean-looking Pros sit at Average rather than Flawless. Anything a nail catches on moves the phone to Fair. A crack takes it to Faulty.

Yes, at the Faulty price shown in the grid. That covers a cracked display, a shattered back, and a chipped stainless edge. A broken cover over any of the three lenses counts too.

Lens covers matter on this model. The camera array sticks out far enough to take the first hit in a drop. Check all three plus the LiDAR window.

Not that one. Dead phones can't be tested. Your data can't come off a phone that won't start. Paying for something nobody can check isn't fair to either side. Ship it in and choose free recycling or a free trip back.

Under 80 percent grades the phone Faulty. Pro owners hit this earlier than most. 5G, the bright display and the camera all pull hard on a five year old cell. Heavy days mean extra charges.

Here's the check. Open Settings and tap Battery. Let the usage graph load, then tap Battery Health and Charging. Maximum Capacity is the number we grade against.

Read it today rather than trusting a figure you remember from last year. This number only moves one way. Crossing that line changes which row of the grid you're on.

A battery service warning in place of the percentage counts the same way. We buy Faulty phones. What costs you is claiming Good and having us find otherwise.

The sooner the better, and September is the marker. New iPhones arrive then, and used prices adjust downward for weeks afterwards.

We can't. A clean ESN is a condition of every grade, Brand New through Faulty. That rules out phones reported lost or stolen and phones a carrier has blocked. A phone still attached to an Apple Account is out too.

An iCloud lock is the one people trip over. The phone works perfectly and still fails inspection.

Yes, and it surprises people. Any engraving grades the phone Faulty. That includes the free ones Apple added at purchase. Initials count. A logo from a company phone program counts.

Turn the phone over and look at the glass under the Apple logo. If there's text there, pick Faulty and the quote will hold.

Copy your data off first, by iCloud backup or by cable to a computer. Next, sign out of your Apple Account, which releases Find My. Last, run Erase All Content and Settings from the General menu. The Device Erasure Guides cover each step with screenshots.
