They are still real money for a phone sitting in a kitchen drawer, and finding your own line in the grid below takes about a minute.
Most places treat damage as a reason to stop. Ask a carrier what a six year old phone with a crack across it is worth and the usual answers are a token figure or an offer to recycle it, because a trade-in exists to move a new handset and a broken one is in the way. A Buyback puts a price on the fault instead of refusing it. Every automatic rule on this page that drops a phone to the bottom grade, a crack, a battery under 80 percent, a display somebody else fitted, still leaves you on a row of the grid with real money on it. We are buying the phone you actually have rather than the one you wish you had.
Now the good news, and on a phone this age it is worth hearing first. The iPhone 11 has an LCD screen.
Screen burn-in is one of our automatic Faulty rules. A ghost of a keyboard, a status bar or a game menu baked into the panel drops the phone to the bottom of the grid no matter how clean the rest of it looks. Burn-in only happens on OLED. An OLED makes its own light at every pixel, and the pixels that work hardest dim first, so years of the same static shapes leave a permanent shadow. An LCD does not work that way. One backlight sits behind the whole panel and lights all of it evenly. There is nothing there to wear out in patches. So that rule cannot touch your phone. You can stop looking for a ghost.
Run the white screen test anyway, because it finds the fault that does apply. Open Notes, start a blank note so the screen is solid white, push the brightness to full, and tilt the phone under a lamp. Look right into the corners. You will not find burn-in. What white light does show is every hairline crack you stopped noticing two years ago, and any crack or chip, front, back or lens cover, grades the phone Faulty. That is the check worth thirty seconds.
The contrast matters if you are on the wrong page. The iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro Max both use OLED, so burn-in is a live risk on those two and both of their pages tell owners to go looking for it. Same year, same chip, opposite answer. The screen is also the quickest way to tell them apart: hold the phone at an angle in a dark room and an LCD's blacks look dark gray, while the Pro's blacks disappear into the bezel.
Carrier moves the number here, and not by a little. Unlocked pays the most, and a Verizon iPhone 11 matches it exactly, dollar for dollar at every grade and every capacity. AT&T and T-Mobile sit under both of those, and anything else sits under them again. Pick the carrier the phone is genuinely locked to when you quote, because the grid below is the unlocked column and it is only the right column for two of the five.
Where to sell an iPhone 11 comes down to who still quotes them properly. We buy them used, scratched, cracked, or with a dead battery, and Faulty is a price in the grid below rather than a rejection. HOW IT WORKS
Pick 64GB, 128GB or 256GB, name the carrier the phone is actually locked to, and choose the grade that matches the wear. Read the battery first, in Settings, Battery, Battery Health and Charging. On a 2019 phone that one percentage decides more than the scratches do. The Buyback price you accept is held for 14 days.
A prepaid USPS label reaches your inbox as soon as you accept. Sign out of iCloud, wipe the phone, then pack it with something soft around it. Keep the box, the cable and the case. None of them add a cent to the offer and they only go missing in transit.

No. It is the one Faulty rule that physically cannot apply to this phone.
Burn-in is an OLED problem. Each OLED pixel makes its own light and wears at its own rate, so the shapes that sit on screen for years, the keyboard, the status bar, a game's controls, slowly stop matching the pixels around them and leave a ghost. The iPhone 11 uses an LCD. A single backlight behind the glass lights the entire panel at once, and it ages as one piece. There is no per pixel wear to go uneven.
Test it if you want the reassurance. In a dim room, open a blank note so the screen is solid white, brightness up full, and look across the whole panel. Nothing will be there. Then keep looking, because that white field is the best crack detector you own, and a crack anywhere on the screen, the back glass or a lens cover does grade the phone Faulty.
Turn it over and count the rear lenses. Two lenses in a square glass bump means iPhone 11. One lens on its own means iPhone XR, which has its own page and its own prices. The two are otherwise near twins: same 6.1 inch LCD, same body, same bright colors on the shelf. If you would rather be certain, the A-number settles it. An iPhone 11 sold in the US reads A2111.
Count lenses again. Two on the iPhone 11, three on the iPhone 11 Pro. The other tell is the back itself. The 11 has glossy glass and came in purple, green, yellow, black, white and red. The Pro has a frosted matte back in midnight green, space gray, silver or gold, with a stainless steel band instead of aluminum. The Pro is also the smaller phone at 5.8 inches, which catches people out.
It matters for grading, not just for the price. The Pro has an OLED screen, so burn-in can send it to Faulty. Yours cannot suffer that.
Good is light wear you cannot see holding the phone at arm's length under normal room light. Marks you have to hunt for are Good.
Average is light wear you cannot feel with a fingernail. Run a nail slowly across the screen and the back. If it catches on something and there is no crack, that is Fair. Fair is heavy wear you can feel.
Any crack or chip at all, however small, however hidden by a case, is Faulty rather than Fair. Color plays no part in any of it. A purple iPhone 11 and a black one in the same condition are quoted at the same number.
Yes, and you should. A crack or a chip anywhere puts the phone in Faulty, and Faulty is a row in the grid with real money in it: $32 for a 128GB, $36 for a 256GB. Pick Faulty when you quote and nothing changes when it arrives. What we cannot take is a phone so smashed that the display shows nothing at all, because then there is no way to test it or clear your data. That one goes to free recycling instead.
Yes. An aftermarket or replaced display grades the phone Faulty on its own, even if the glass is spotless and everything works. Cheap LCD replacements are common on this model precisely because the part is cheap, so it is worth being honest about at the quote step. If a repair shop fitted a screen and you are not sure whether the part was genuine, say Faulty. We would rather agree with you up front than send you a revised offer later.
It grades Faulty, and we still buy the phone. Check before you choose a grade, because this is where six year old iPhone 11s trip up more than anywhere else.
Settings, then Battery, then Battery Health and Charging. Read the Maximum Capacity figure. Eighty and above leaves your grade untouched. Under 80 is Faulty even on a phone without a single mark on it. If the screen instead tells you the battery needs servicing, that counts as Faulty too.
Then it is Faulty. Face ID that will not set up, will not recognize you, or throws an error is one of our automatic rules, and there is no partial credit for a phone that unlocks by passcode instead. Try it before you quote. Settings, Face ID and Passcode, Reset Face ID, then set it up again. If it completes, you are fine. If it fails, choose Faulty and take the number in the bottom row.
Not for money, no. A phone with no power cannot be switched on, tested or wiped, and we will not put a price on something we cannot check or clear your data from. Plug it into a known good cable for half an hour first, because a deeply flat battery on a phone this age can look dead for a while before the charging screen appears. If it truly stays black, send it in and we will recycle it at no cost to you, or post it back to you at no cost. Either way it gets wiped to Department of Defense standards on arrival.
It does, and this model has an unusual pattern. Unlocked pays the most, and a Verizon iPhone 11 pays exactly the same, matching the unlocked column at every grade and every capacity. AT&T and T-Mobile phones come in below both. So if yours is on Verizon, you lose nothing at all for it. A Good 128GB is $105 whether it is unlocked or on Verizon.
Pick the carrier the phone is genuinely locked to. If you are not sure, Settings, General, About, and look for the line that says No SIM restrictions, which means unlocked.
Not while there is a balance on it. A phone still running on a monthly installment plan or a lease counts as being under a financial obligation, and those are not ones we are able to buy. Settle it with the carrier, own it outright, then come back and it quotes like any other iPhone 11.
No, and that applies to every row in the grid including Faulty. The ESN has to be clean before any grade means anything. A phone reported lost or stolen, blocked by a carrier, or still signed in to an Apple Account fails that check and we have to turn it down. The Apple Account half is the one you can fix yourself in five minutes by signing out and erasing before you mail it. The blacklist half you cannot, so check the IMEI first if the phone came to you secondhand.
Copy anything you want to keep first, then open Settings, tap your name at the top and sign out of iCloud. That is what turns Find My off. Then Settings, General, Transfer or Reset iPhone, Erase All Content and Settings. It asks for your Apple Account password, and entering it is the step that actually releases the phone.
