SELL YOUR IPAD PRO 12.9 INCH (2ND GEN)
An iPad Pro 12.9-inch (2nd generation) is bought here for somewhere between $12 and $132 on WiFi, and all eighteen of those figures are in the table below. Those are modest numbers and we are not going to dress them up. This tablet came out in June 2017, and it is still real cash for something that stopped leaving the house years ago.
A Buyback is a purchase of one exact configuration, priced before anybody here has seen the tablet, so identifying the iPad correctly is worth as much as describing the wear. On this model that means looking for the antenna strip before you look at anything else. A Cellular 64GB pays exactly what a WiFi 256GB pays, at all six grades, without a single exception. The plastic band across the top edge is worth as much to your number as quadrupling the storage, it takes two seconds to check, and it is the step people skip.

This is the iPad where 120Hz started. Apple shipped ProMotion for the first time in June 2017, in this Pro and the 10.5-inch one beside it, and called it new. The screen redraws up to twice as often as an ordinary iPad screen. A long list slides instead of stepping.
That matters to your quote, because ProMotion lives in the panel Apple glued in at the factory and not in the software. Replacement screens sold for this generation are plain 60Hz glass. A replaced or aftermarket display grades Faulty here, however clean it looks and however well it works.
So check, and give yourself a control while you do it. Open Settings, tap Accessibility, then Motion, and turn on Limit Frame Rate. That caps the screen at 60. Scroll a long web page hard and watch the text. Now turn the switch back off and scroll the same page the same way. On the panel Apple fitted, the second run is visibly smoother than the first. If the two runs look identical, the glass in front of you cannot go past 60, and on this iPad that means somebody has changed it.
That same switch places which Pro you are holding. If there is no Limit Frame Rate line under Motion at all, the tablet has no ProMotion, which puts you on the iPad Pro 12.9-inch (1st generation) from 2015 or the iPad Pro 9.7-inch from 2016. The 2015 one is the awkward twin, because it is the same 12.9 inches at the same 2732 by 2048 and sits in the hand the same way.
Where to sell an iPad Pro 12.9-inch (2nd generation) really comes down to who still quotes a 2017 tablet honestly. We do, used or broken. Pick 64GB, 256GB or 512GB, WiFi or WiFi + Cellular, and the grade the wear actually matches. Run a fingernail around all four corners of the glass before you choose, because a chip you can catch a nail on is a crack and any crack is Faulty. The Buyback price you accept is locked for 14 days.
A prepaid USPS label arrives by email. Erase the iPad and sign out of iCloud first, which is the step that switches Activation Lock off. Then send the tablet on its own. The Smart Keyboard, the Apple Pencil, the case and the charger add nothing to the offer and there is no route for us to mail them back.
We inspect within 48 hours of the box landing. If it matches what you told us, the money leaves the same day by gift card, PayPal, bank transfer or check. Every iPad gets a DoD-grade wipe here, whether we buy it or recycle it.

IPAD PRO 12.9 INCH (2ND GEN) BUYBACK QUESTIONS
Storage and condition settle it. A 256GB in Good condition is $70. The same tablet at Average is $60. A 512GB with no marks on it anywhere is Flawless, and that pays $85. All 18 WiFi figures are in the table above, and the quote box gives you your exact one including Cellular.
Use the frame rate. Settings, then Accessibility, then Motion, then Limit Frame Rate. Switch it on, scroll a busy web page fast, then switch it off and scroll the same page again the same way. An original panel is noticeably smoother with the switch off, because it climbs to 120Hz. A cheap replacement panel runs at 60 either way, so both scrolls look the same.
If they look the same, the display is not the one Apple fitted and the grade is Faulty. Two other giveaways worth a look while you are there: adhesive squeezed out along the edge of the glass, and a black border that is slightly wider on one side than the other.
They are the same size, the same 2732 by 2048 screen and near enough the same weight, so looking at it from the front proves nothing. Turn it over instead. The 2017 Pro has a flash beside the rear camera. The 2015 one has a bare lens and no flash. Storage is the second tell: this one came as 64GB, 256GB or 512GB, and the 2015 model came as 32GB, 128GB or 256GB, so a 32GB or 128GB Pro is not this page. No. Every iPad Pro 12.9-inch made in 2017 has a round Home button under the screen. If yours has none, and the sides are flat rather than curved, you are holding the iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd generation) from 2018 or something newer, and those are worth more. Check there before you quote.
Both are this iPad. A1670 is the WiFi only version and A1671 is WiFi + Cellular. A1821 is the same Cellular tablet as sold in mainland China. All three quote on this page. The number is on the back in the fine print, and if that has worn away, open Settings, then General, then About, and tap the Model Number line once to flip the long code into the A-number.
Yes. A crack changes the grade, it does not end the sale. A cracked 64GB still pays $12 and a cracked 512GB still pays $17. The rule reaches further than the screen, so chips in the aluminum, a split in the small glass over the camera and a chipped corner all count the same way. Choose Faulty when you quote and the number holds when the iPad gets here.
Faulty. Put your thumb on the Home button and open the iPad with it. If it will not read your finger, or the button itself has gone dead, the grade drops no matter how good the glass looks. Two of our rules meet on that one round part, since a non-working Touch ID forces Faulty and so does a button that has stopped working.
It goes to Faulty, and a Service Battery message does the same. There is no middle setting. Above 80 percent nothing changes at all, so a battery sitting at 81 grades exactly like one at 100. The catch on a 2017 Pro is that it will not show you the percentage. iPad software only began reporting battery health years after this tablet stopped being updated, so there is no screen on it to read. Judge it by what happens instead. One that empties before the afternoon is over, or shuts down while the indicator still says 20 or 30 percent, or only stays awake with the cable plugged in, is under the line.
Always, on this model. Not once does Cellular come in below WiFi. The premium is biggest at 256GB, where it runs 3 to 18 dollars depending on grade, and smallest at 512GB, where it is 1 to 6. At 64GB it sits between the two. The top figure on the page, $138, is a sealed 512GB Cellular. iPads carry no carrier lock, so which network it lived on is irrelevant to us. Two things do change on a Cellular one: the IMEI has to be clean, and the nano-SIM tray has to still be in the edge.
Nothing for any of them. The offer is for the iPad on its own, so a first generation Apple Pencil, a Smart Keyboard, a folio case and the charger add zero dollars. Send one anyway and we cannot post it back to you, because there is no return path for accessories once they arrive. Keep them, sell them separately, or hand them on with the next tablet.
Not for money. A dark iPad cannot be tested and your data cannot be cleared off it, and we will not buy something where neither is possible. Try an hour on a Lightning charger first, since a battery that has been flat for a year can look dead when it is only empty. If nothing happens, we will recycle it free or send it back free, whichever you prefer, and anything recycled still gets the DoD-grade wipe.
No, not while money is still owed on it. An iPad on monthly installments or a lease is a device under a financial obligation and we do not purchase those. Pay the balance off, own it outright, and it quotes like any other.
Neither one, and they are two different problems.
Activation Lock has to be off. That is true of every iPad Pro here, WiFi or Cellular. Erasing the tablet while signed in to your Apple account is what clears it, and there is no other way round it at our end.
A clean IMEI is the second requirement, and it applies only to Cellular models because a WiFi iPad has no IMEI to check. If yours has been reported lost or stolen, or a carrier has blocked it, we cannot take it. Settings, General, About shows the IMEI on a Cellular tablet.
No. Silver, Space Gray and Gold all pay to the dollar the same. Only storage, condition and whether it has cellular move the number.
Back it up, then open Settings, General, Transfer or Reset iPad, and pick Erase All Content and Settings. It asks for your Apple account password, and typing that in is what actually turns Activation Lock off. There is a step by step walkthrough on our device erasure guides page.
