SELL YOUR IPAD PRO 12.9 INCH (1ST GEN)
An iPad Pro 12.9-inch (1st generation) is bought here for somewhere between $9 and $85 on WiFi, and all eighteen of those figures are in the table below. They are small numbers for what was the most expensive iPad Apple sold in 2015, and we are not going to dress them up.
A Buyback is a purchase at the grade you pick, checked against your description rather than re-priced on arrival, and that is worth knowing because sellers of ten-year-old tablets tend to grade themselves down out of caution. A low number feels safer than an argument. It is not safer, it is only lower. A working 256GB described as Faulty pays about a fifth of what the same tablet pays described as Good, and that ratio holds at 32GB and 128GB too. Read the definitions once and pick the row that fits.
Before you pick a grade, play something out loud.
This was the first iPad Apple gave four speakers, one in each corner, and it is still the reason the thing sounds the way it does. Four speakers also means four parts that can fail, and any audio fault grades the iPad Faulty. Speakers, microphone, it makes no difference which one.
So put a song on, turn it up, and cup each of the four grilles with a thumb in turn. Every one of them should make the sound noticeably quieter. A corner that is silent, crackly or buzzing is a fault, and a fault drops the tablet to the bottom row of the table below however good the glass looks. Ten seconds, and it is the cheapest test on this page.
Turn it over and the rear camera tells you which Pro you are holding. A lens sitting flush with the aluminum, with no flash beside it, is the 2015 tablet you are quoting here. A lens that stands proud of the back with a small flash next to it is the iPad Pro 12.9-inch (2nd generation) from 2017, and that one has its own page and its own prices. Storage settles the argument too, because 32GB only ever existed on this first one. The 2017 tablet started at 64GB.
Where to sell an iPad Pro 12.9-inch (1st generation) really comes down to who still quotes a ten-year-old tablet at all. We do, used or broken. Pick 32GB, 128GB or 256GB, WiFi or WiFi + Cellular, and the grade that matches the wear. Do the four speaker test first and run a fingernail round the corners of the glass, because a chip you can catch a nail on counts as a crack and any crack is Faulty. The Buyback price you accept is locked for 14 days.
A prepaid USPS label arrives by email. Sign out of iCloud and erase the iPad first so Activation Lock is off. Then send the tablet on its own. The Apple Pencil, the Smart Keyboard and the charger all stay with you, because none of them add anything to the offer.
We inspect within 48 hours of the box landing. If the iPad matches what you told us, the money leaves the same day by gift card, PayPal, bank transfer or check. Every tablet gets a DoD-grade wipe here, whether we buy it or recycle it.

Storage and condition decide it. A 256GB in Good condition pays $56. The same tablet at Average is $46. A 32GB with a crack in it still pays $9. The table above holds all eighteen WiFi figures and the quote box gives you your exact one.
Yes, it makes it Faulty. Any audio fault does, and this tablet has four speakers and a set of microphones, so there is more to go wrong here than on a two-speaker iPad. Play music at volume and cover each corner grille in turn with a thumb. If covering one of them changes nothing, that corner is dead. Buzzing and crackling count as well. Pick Faulty at the quote step and the number holds when it reaches us.

Capacity is the other giveaway: 32GB only ever existed on this first one, and the 2017 model started at 64GB. Both are this iPad. A1584 is the WiFi only version and A1652 is the WiFi + Cellular one. Read it off the back in the small print. If that has worn away, open Settings, then General, then About, and tap the Model Number line to switch it from the long code to the A-number. Either one quotes on this page.
Yes. A crack changes the grade, it does not end the sale. A cracked 32GB pays $9 and a cracked 256GB pays $11. The rule reaches past the screen, so a chip in the aluminum back or a break in the small glass over the camera counts the same way. Choose Faulty when you quote and nothing changes when the iPad gets here.
That is Faulty on two counts. A button that has stopped working forces Faulty, and non-working Touch ID forces Faulty, and on this iPad they are the same round part below the screen. Press it and unlock with your fingerprint. If the click feels dead, or your print no longer registers, you have your grade whatever the glass looks like.
Under 80 percent health it grades Faulty, and a Service Battery message does the same. There is no sliding scale above that line: a battery at 81 percent and one at 100 percent are treated identically. What this model cannot do is show you the number. Battery health arrived on iPad long after 2015 and an A9X tablet cannot run the software that carries it, so judge it by what the iPad does. A charge that will not see out an afternoon, a shutdown while the indicator still claims 20 or 30 percent, or a tablet that only stays awake with the cable in, all sit under the line. On a tablet this old the battery is often what sets the grade rather than the glass.
It does, at every grade and every size, and the shape is worth spelling out because it is not the one you would guess. The 256GB column gains the most: 11 dollars sealed, 8 or 9 through the middle grades, 5 at Fair and 2 at Faulty. The 32GB gains 5 to 7 across the top four grades, 4 at Fair and 1 at Faulty. The 128GB gains the least of the three, 4 or 5 across the top four, 3 at Fair and 1 at Faulty, so the middle size benefits less from cellular than the smallest one does. The biggest number on this page, $96, is a sealed 256GB Cellular. There is no carrier lock on an iPad, so whichever network it lived on makes no difference to us. Two things do change on a Cellular one. Its IMEI has to be clean, and its nano-SIM tray has to still be sitting in the edge, because a missing tray forces Faulty.
Not for cash. With no power we cannot test it and cannot clear your data off it, and we will not put a price on a tablet we can do neither of those to. Give it an hour on a Lightning charger before you decide, because a 2015 battery that has sat flat for a year can look dead when it is not. If it stays dark, we will recycle it free or mail it back free, whichever you prefer, and anything we recycle still gets the DoD-grade wipe.
Not while the payments are running. A tablet on an installment plan or a lease is under a financial obligation, and we do not purchase devices under financial obligations. Settle the balance, own it outright, then quote it like any other iPad.
No to both, and they are two separate checks rather than one.
Activation Lock has to be off. That applies to every one of these, WiFi or Cellular. Signing out of iCloud and erasing the tablet is the step that turns it off, and doing it before you mail the iPad is the difference between getting paid and getting it posted back.
The IMEI has to be clean, and only Cellular models have one. Anything reported lost or stolen, or blocked by a carrier, fails there and we have to turn it down. Settings, General, About shows the IMEI. A WiFi A1584 has none, so this half cannot apply to it.
Keep all of it. The offer covers the tablet on its own, so an Apple Pencil (1st generation), a Smart Keyboard, a folio case and the charger add exactly zero dollars, and once an accessory is inside the parcel we have no route to send it back. Post the iPad bare.
No. Silver, Space Gray and Gold pay the same to the dollar. Storage, condition and whether it has cellular are the three things that move the number, and the finish is not one of them.
Back it up, then open Settings, tap General, then Transfer or Reset iPad, then Erase All Content and Settings. It asks for your Apple Account password, and typing that in is what actually switches Activation Lock off. There is a walkthrough on our device erasure guides page. We run our own DoD-grade wipe when it arrives regardless, but yours has to come off first.
