A used iPad Air 11" (M2) is worth between $53 and $473. That is a nine-fold spread on one tablet, and it is set by three things: which of the four storage sizes you have, whether there is Cellular in it, and what the glass and the frame have been through. The whole grid is below.
One thing worth knowing before you quote, because it is what makes most people put this off: the iPad is probably still in use. Nobody wants to be without a tablet for a week while the money catches up. That is what the 14 day lock is for. Take the number today, then post the M2 Air once the new one is set up and everything has moved across. It is the practical difference between this and an offer handed over a counter, which exists only while you are standing in front of it. A Buyback is a price you can hold on to while you sort out your own timing.
On this model the frame decides more than people expect. The Air is thin, and two faults are easy to miss on it: a corner that has quietly taken a drop, and a slight bow along one edge from riding in a bag underneath a laptop. Either one grades the tablet Faulty, and so does a crack in the glass, a chipped camera lens, an engraving on the back or a screen somebody has already replaced. Everything short of that is ordinary wear. Run a fingernail across the back and along all four edges before you pick a grade, because marks you can feel and marks you can only see are two different rows in the table.

HOW IT WORKS
Choose your storage, then WiFi or Cellular, then the grade that fits the wear. Your price is locked for 14 days. It can't drop while the iPad is in the mail.
A prepaid USPS label comes by email. Erase the iPad. Wrap it so nothing rests on the glass. Any post office will take it. Shipping is free both ways, including the trip back if you change your mind.
We check your iPad by hand within 48 hours of it arriving. If it matches what you told us, your money goes out that day. We pay via gift card, PayPal, bank transfer, or check. If we find something you missed, we'll tell you what we found and what it changes.
SPEC SHEET
Two sizes shipped in May 2024. This is the 11 inch one. The iPad Air 13" (M2) is the larger version. Before them came the iPad Air 5, which still has a SIM tray. After them came the iPad Air 11" (M3) and the iPad Air 13" (M3), and those look the same from outside. Settings, General, About settles it. A2902 and A2903 are the M2.

Storage matters most on this one, because it runs from 128GB to 1TB. Connectivity and wear do the rest. Every WiFi price sits in the grid, and the quote tool prices your exact tablet in a minute.
No. A trade-in is what Apple or a carrier gives you toward a new device. The value comes back as credit, and often in monthly pieces.

No, and it's the first Air without one. Apple went eSIM only on this model, so a Cellular M2 Air has no slot anywhere on the frame.
Check it yourself. Run a finger along all four edges and look for a small pinhole. There isn't one on this iPad. The iPad Air 5 does have one, so that pinhole is the quickest way to tell the two apart.
This changes a grading rule. A missing or damaged SIM tray drops an older iPad to Faulty. That rule can't reach this model, because there's no tray to lose or bend. Don't mark yourself down for it.
Cellular still matters in two other ways. Activation Lock has to be off on every M2 Air, WiFi or Cellular. A Cellular one also carries an IMEI, and that has to be clean. WiFi models have no IMEI at all.
One last step if yours is Cellular. Ask your carrier to move the eSIM off the iPad before you post it. There's no card to pull out, so that call is the only way to free the line.
Yes. Any crack or chip grades it Faulty, front, back or camera lens. A bent frame or an engraving does the same. So does a screen that someone has replaced.

No, and the reason is a practical one. With no power we can't test the iPad or clear your data. We won't pay for something we can't check. We'll recycle it free, or post it back to you free.
Under 80 percent grades the iPad Faulty. Settings, then Battery, shows you the health figure on current software. If yours is on older software, that figure isn't there.
Then go by behavior. Charge it to full, use it for an hour, and see what's left. Fast drops, heat on the charger, or a shutdown with charge showing all mean a worn battery. Grade it Faulty.
At 80 percent or above, the battery does nothing to your grade.
Before the next iPad arrives. Prices fall fastest in the weeks after Apple announces new models, and the M3 Airs already exist.
Sitting in a drawer costs you as well. The battery ages either way, and under 80 percent the tablet grades Faulty.
Yes, Cellular pays more, and on this model the amount depends on the grade rather than the storage. It is $21 on a sealed tablet, $20 at Flawless and at Good, $19 at Average, $12 at Fair and $4 at Faulty. Those gaps are the same at 128GB as they are at 1TB. The grid above is WiFi, so add the figure for your grade if yours has Cellular, or just pick Cellular in the quote tool and read the number straight off.
Not sure which you have? Open Settings, General, About. Cellular models list an IMEI and an EID. WiFi models list neither.
A carrier will quote you too, usually as bill credit spread over two or three years. Ours is $246 for an Average 128GB on WiFi, in cash, sent the day we finish checking it.

No. A tablet has two checks to clear, and they're separate.
The first is Activation Lock. Every iPad Air 11" (M2) has to have it off, WiFi or Cellular. Sign out of iCloud on the tablet and that's handled.
The second is the IMEI, and only Cellular models have one. A WiFi M2 Air has no IMEI at all, so there's nothing to check. On a Cellular one, a carrier block or a lost and stolen report ends the sale.
Open Settings, then General, then About. The Capacity line gives you the answer.
Pick that number carefully in the quote tool. There are four sizes on this model, and 128GB and 1TB are a long way apart.
No. We're buying the iPad Air 11" (M2) by itself, and accessories aren't priced into the quote. An Apple Pencil, a Magic Keyboard, a Smart Folio or the charger adds nothing to the offer.
