No. Samsung phones have no battery percentage rule here, so there is no number to look up and no screen to go hunting for. This phone has a large battery that has been charged for six years and it will not behave like a new one. The only way a battery reaches the grade is by failing completely, and that is covered by the same rule as any other part.

Yes, as Faulty. The Samsung rule here is a single principle rather than a checklist: if any part of the phone does not do its job, the phone is Faulty. A dead button counts, and so do a crackling speaker, a charging port that only works at one angle, a camera stuck on blurry and a fingerprint reader that has given up. Take two minutes: video with the sound up, every button twice, all three rear cameras, then plug the charger in and wiggle it.

Not while it is locked. Factory reset protection keeps the phone tied to your account and stops anyone else setting it up, so there is no grade we can pay for it. Take the account off in Settings, Accounts and backup, then run the factory reset. A tripped Knox counter gets the same answer, and so does any phone reported lost or stolen, blacklisted or blocked by a network.

Not while somebody else has a claim on it. A phone on an installment plan or a lease is under a financial obligation, and we do not purchase devices under financial obligations. Clear the balance first and then it quotes like any other phone.

We cannot buy it. Without power we cannot test it and cannot clear your data off it, and we will not price something we cannot check or wipe. Two free options remain: send it in and we recycle it properly after a Department of Defense grade wipe, or ask for it back and we return it at no cost.

Back up what you want to keep. Remove your Google account in Settings, Accounts and backup, Manage accounts. Then Settings, General management, Reset, Factory data reset. Your photos, messages and saved passwords are erased and they cannot be recovered. Take the memory card out too, and check the tray for a second SIM if yours is a dual SIM phone.
