Put the S Pen back in the phone before you pack it. It slots into the bottom left corner, it came with the Note 10 rather than being sold alongside it, and a phone that arrives here without its pen is quoted lower than the same phone with the pen in the slot. Look for it now rather than after the box has gone.
Here is what makes this page short. Samsung sold the Galaxy Note 10 in the United States one way only: 256GB, with no memory card slot. There is no 128GB, there is no 512GB, and there is nowhere to put a card. So the storage question that changes the price on most phones does not exist here, and the only thing left that moves your number is the state of the phone.
That puts all the weight on the grade you pick, so it is worth picking it carefully. Run a fingernail across the screen. If it catches on anything, that counts as a scratch, even if you cannot see it in the room you are standing in. Then do the same across the back glass and around the frame. What you find in the next ninety seconds is the difference between the top of our range and the middle of it.
One more thing worth knowing before you quote. Our top grade is a sealed phone that has never been switched on, and almost nobody selling a 2019 Note has one of those. The grade below it, for a phone that has been used but carries no marks at all, pays exactly the same on this model and can be paid any way you like. If your Note 10 is genuinely unmarked, that is the box to tick.

A prepaid USPS label lands in your email. Take your Google account off, factory reset the phone, and pop the SIM out of the tray. There is no memory card to worry about on this one. Pen back in, lid on, done.
We check the phone within 48 hours of it reaching us and tell you what we found. If it matches, payment leaves that day by gift card, PayPal, bank transfer or check. Every phone gets a Department of Defense grade wipe on arrival.

Flawless, and on this model it is worth knowing that Flawless and Brand New pay the same figure. Brand New means sealed, never activated, everything still in the box, and it can only be paid through PayPal. Flawless means used but with no marks on it anywhere, and you can take that in a gift card, a bank transfer or a check as well. Same money, more ways to get it.
Your fingernail decides it, not your eyes. Drag a nail slowly across the screen and the back glass. Flawless means nothing catches anywhere and nothing shows in bright light. Good means light wear that you cannot pick out from arm's length, even if a close look under a lamp finds a mark or two. Below that, Average is wear you can see up close but cannot feel, and Fair is wear you can feel.
Because Samsung only sold one. In the United States the Galaxy Note 10 came as a 256GB phone, with no microSD slot to expand it. If your phone reports 512GB, or if there is a memory card sitting in the SIM tray, you are holding a Note 10 Plus and the numbers are different.
Put them side by side and the difference is obvious, but on its own it is easy to get wrong. The Note 10 has a 6.3 inch screen, three cameras on the back, no memory card slot and 256GB inside. The Galaxy Note 10 Plus is a 6.8 inch phone with a card slot, an extra sensor on the back and a 512GB option. Model numbers settle it: SM-N970 here, SM-N975 for the Plus, SM-N976 for the Note 10 Plus 5G.
Yes, and we say the number out loud rather than making you ask: $14. Any crack or chip, on the screen, the back or a lens cover, moves the phone to Faulty however well it works. Tick Faulty when you quote and that is the figure you are paid. The edges of this screen curve, and curved glass chips at the corners first, so check there.
Send the phone and tell us at the quote step. The pen belongs with a Note 10, it has a slot cut into the body for it, and a phone that shows up without one is quoted lower than the same phone with the pen in place. Check the car, the coat pocket and the drawer first.
It does, and it takes the phone to Faulty. This screen is OLED and it is six years old, which is exactly the combination that burns in. Do the check tonight: brightness up, a plain white screen, room lights off, and look for a faint clock at the top or navigation buttons at the bottom. It does not. Samsung phones carry no battery percentage rule with us. Nobody will ask you for a health figure, this phone has no screen that shows one, and a small 2019 battery that no longer lasts a day is simply an old battery. If the battery has actually failed, that is caught by the same rule that covers any part that has stopped working.
Yes, as Faulty. The rule on Samsung phones is a principle, not a list: if something on the phone does not do its job, the phone is Faulty. A temperamental port counts, so does a dead button, a speaker that crackles, a camera that will not focus and a fingerprint reader that has stopped reading. One tip before you assume the worst, though. A charging port packed with pocket lint is not a broken port. Look into it with a light first.
Not until you take the account off. While it is signed in, factory reset protection keeps the phone locked to you and nobody else can set it up, so there is no grade we can pay. Remove the account in Settings, Accounts and backup, then run the factory reset. A tripped Knox counter gets the same answer, and so does anything reported lost or stolen, blacklisted, or blocked by a carrier.
No, not while it belongs to somebody else. A phone on an installment plan or a lease is under a financial obligation, and we do not purchase devices under financial obligations. Clear the balance with your carrier first and then it quotes like anything else.
Then there is no price, because we cannot test it and we cannot clear your data off it. We will not guess. Send it in on a free label and we recycle it for nothing with a Department of Defense grade wipe first, or ask for it back and it comes back free.
Back up what you want to keep. Remove your Google account in Settings, Accounts and backup, Manage accounts. Then Settings, General management, Reset, Factory data reset. Your photos, messages and saved passwords are erased and they cannot be recovered. Take the SIM out of the tray as well. On a six year old Note, rarely, and the shape of the offer is different anyway. Carriers pay in monthly credits tied to a plan and stop paying if you leave. We pay once, in money, the day after your phone clears inspection. Keep the charger and the case while you are at it, since neither adds anything to the quote.
