SELL YOUR MOTOROLA EDGE (2023)
A Motorola Edge (2023) pays between $2 and $29. We are showing you both ends rather than the flattering one, because you should know the floor before you agree to anything. Every number on this page is pulled live from our price feed.
Most people call it a trade-in. We call it a Buyback, because we are buying the phone from you outright for cash instead of crediting it against next month's bill.
The back of a Motorola Edge (2023) is not glass. Motorola calls it eco leather, and it is a soft silicone polymer stretched over the frame. That changes how you grade this phone, because the rule that sends an Android to the bottom of the table is built around cracks and chips, and this back cannot crack.
So take the case off and run a thumbnail all the way around the edge of the back panel, then across the middle. Scuffs, shine, a dull patch where your fingers rest, a seam that has started to lift at a corner: all of that is wear. Wear does not make a phone Faulty. Heavy wear you can actually feel is Fair, and Fair is a real price on this page rather than a polite way of saying no.
The crack rule still applies to this phone. It just has fewer places to land. Two of them: the screen, and the glass covers over the two rear cameras. Tilt the phone under a lamp until the light rakes across the screen at a low angle, which is how a hairline crack shows itself, then run a fingernail over each camera ring. If a nail catches on anything, that is a chip, and a chip grades Faulty even when the phone works perfectly.
One more thing worth thirty seconds. Motorola sold this phone as XT2305-1, and the Edge (2024) that followed it looks almost the same, right down to the eco leather. Check Settings, then About phone, before you quote. Where to sell a used Motorola Edge (2023) is really a question of who still buys one, and we do, clean or scratched or broken. If it will not power on we cannot buy it, because a dead phone cannot be tested and your data cannot be cleared off it. We recycle those for free, or mail them back to you for free.
LIVE PRICES
The used resale value of a Motorola Edge (2023) runs from $2 at the bottom to $29 at the top. Motorola sold one size here, 256GB, so condition is the only thing moving your number.
Every figure below comes out of our live price feed. None of it is an average, an estimate or an opening offer.
| Comparison row | 256GB |
|---|---|
Brand New | $29 |
Flawless | $26 |
Good | $11 |
Average | $9 |
Fair | $7 |
Faulty | $2 |
HOW IT WORKS
Pick your carrier and the grade that matches the wear. Do the thumbnail pass over the back and the two camera rings first, because scuffed eco leather and a chipped lens cover land in completely different rows. Your Buyback price is locked for 14 days once you accept it.
A prepaid USPS label arrives by email. Take your Google account off the phone, erase it, pull the SIM, and put it in a box. Nothing has to go in with it. Motorola accessories are not priced into your Buyback and we would rather you kept them.
We check your Edge (2023) by hand within 48 hours of it landing here. Match the description and payment goes out that same day, by gift card, PayPal, bank transfer or check. Every phone gets a Department of Defense grade wipe on arrival, bought or recycled.

MOTOROLA EDGE (2023) BUYBACK QUESTIONS
Condition decides all of it, since there is only one storage size. A phone with heavy wear you can feel but no cracks pays $7. Clean it up to light wear you cannot spot from arm's length and it is $11. No marks at all is $26. Use the quote tool at the top of the page for your exact phone and carrier.
No. Scuffing is wear, and wear has its own rows in the table. Faulty is for cracks, chips and things that have stopped working, and a silicone polymer back cannot crack the way glass does.
Grade it honestly by feel rather than by eye. If a fingernail glides over the back, that is Good or Average territory. If you can feel the damage, gouges, a rough patch, a corner where the material has lifted away from the frame, that is Fair. Fair still pays, and picking it means nothing changes when the phone reaches us.
Fair is heavy wear you can feel with a fingernail, with no cracks and no chips anywhere. Deep scratches in the screen, a chewed up frame, a back panel that has worn through in patches. It is the honest home for most three year old phones that lived without a case. Above it: Average is wear you can see but not feel, Good is wear you cannot pick out at arm's length, Flawless is nothing at all. Below it, Faulty covers every crack, every chip, and anything on the phone that no longer works.
This is the most common mix-up on this phone, and no wonder: same 6.6 inch screen, same 144Hz, same 256GB, same eco leather back, same two rear cameras. Settle it in Settings, About phone. XT2305 is the 2023. XT2405 is the 2024. If you would rather do it by feel, the 2024 is slightly thicker and heavier at 174 grams against 168, and the 2023 has the smaller 4400mAh battery. Quote the newer one on our Edge (2024) page, because the prices are not the same.
Yes. It grades Faulty and Faulty is a price, not a rejection. On this phone the crack rule has two places to land, the screen and the glass over the two rear cameras, because the back is not glass. Trust a fingernail over your eyes. Drag one slowly across the screen and around each camera ring, and anything that catches is a crack or a chip. Choose Faulty when you quote and the number you accept is the number you are paid.
It does. This phone has a pOLED screen, and OLED panels can hold a faint permanent shadow of the clock, the navigation bar or the keyboard. Burn-in grades Faulty. Put a plain white image on screen at full brightness and tilt the phone; anything you can still read through the white counts. It is less common on a phone this young than on the older Edge (2022), but it is worth the ten seconds before you pick a grade.
There is no battery percentage on this phone and no screen for you to go and check. We do not grade Motorola batteries that way. The only route a battery takes into your grade is the same one every part takes: if it has genuinely stopped working, the phone is Faulty. A battery that just does not last like it did in 2023 is normal aging and changes nothing.
That one we have to turn down. Nothing can be tested on a phone with no power, and more to the point your photos, messages and saved passwords cannot be erased from it, so we will not put a price on something we cannot clear. The offer instead is free recycling. Mail it on our label, we wipe it to Department of Defense standards, and it is disposed of properly. Prefer it back? We return it free.
Not until it is paid off. A phone under an installment plan or a lease is under a financial obligation, and we do not purchase devices under financial obligations. Ring your carrier, ask for the payoff amount, clear it, and the phone is yours to sell. It is worth doing in that order, because a phone that is paid off also cannot be locked by the carrier later.
No on both, and they are two different problems.
A Google account lock means the phone was reset while still signed in, so it demands the old account before it will finish setting up. Nobody can get past that, including us. Take the account off in Settings, Passwords and accounts, and do it before you erase the phone.
A blacklisted IMEI means the phone is recorded as lost, stolen or blocked by a carrier. That one cannot be undone from your end and we cannot buy the phone at any grade. Check yours in Settings, About phone.
Two steps in this order. Remove your Google account under Settings, Passwords and accounts. Then Settings, System, Reset options, Erase all data. Doing the account first is what keeps the phone from locking itself. Our erase your device page walks through it with screenshots. We also run a Department of Defense grade wipe here, but that is a second pass, not a substitute for yours.
Keep all of it. Nothing is required in the box on a Motorola, and none of it is priced into your Buyback, so a charger and a case add nothing except a chance of loss in transit. Send the phone by itself. Take out the SIM card, and if you had a memory card in it, take that out too.
It might, and we would rather say that than pretend otherwise. Carriers put big numbers on older Motorolas when you are opening a new line, then pay it out over 24 or 36 monthly bill credits, which only arrive if you stay. Ours is cash, it is smaller, and it is in your account the day the phone clears inspection with nothing tied to your service. Look at both. If theirs wins for you, take it.
Pick one of four at checkout. Gift card, emailed, and it lands about 3 percent higher than the rest because the brands add a bonus. PayPal, instant, minus PayPal's own 2.99 percent fee. Bank transfer in 2 to 4 days. Paper check in 3 to 5. Payment leaves the same day your phone passes inspection, which happens within 48 hours of arrival. Sealed Brand New phones are the one exception and are paid through PayPal only.
Pick your carrier and your grade. It takes about a minute, and the price holds for 14 days.
