SELL YOUR MOTOROLA EDGE (2022)
A Motorola Edge (2022) pays between $0 and $5 right now. This phone sits at the very bottom of what we buy, and we would rather you heard that from us before you tape the box shut than after. Every figure on this page comes straight from our live price feed.
Most people call it a trade-in. We call it a Buyback, and the difference is that we open the box, check the phone by hand, and tell you what we found.
The Edge (2022) has a 6.6 inch OLED screen that runs at 144Hz. OLED pixels dim as they age, and the ones sitting under a shape that never moves, the clock, the navigation bar, the keyboard, dim faster than the pixels around them. What is left behind is a ghost of that shape. That is burn-in, and on any Android phone burn-in grades Faulty.
Check it before you pick a grade. Open a plain white image or a blank white web page, push the brightness all the way up, and hold the phone at arm's length. Tilt it slowly. If you can read a faint clock, a status bar or the outline of a keyboard sitting on top of the white, that is burn-in. It does not have to be obvious to count, and it does not get better.
Motorola sold this phone under three model numbers: XT2205-1, XT2205-2 and XT2205-3. All three are the same Motorola Edge (2022) and all three quote on this page. Yours is in Settings, then About phone. If the box said Edge Plus, you want the Edge Plus (2022) page instead, and it pays a good deal more.
Where to sell a used Motorola Edge (2022) really comes down to who still quotes one at all. We do, whether it is clean, scratched or broken. If it will not power on we cannot buy it, because a phone with no power cannot be tested and your data cannot be cleared off it. We will recycle it for free instead, or post it back to you for free. Shipping costs you nothing in either direction.
LIVE PRICES
The used resale value of a Motorola Edge (2022) runs from $0 up to $5. Storage and wear decide where yours lands, and the 256GB is worth more than the 128GB at the top of the range.
Some combinations below are showing nothing at all today. That is the live figure rather than a mistake in the table, and it changes the moment our feed does. What you see here is what the quote tool will offer you.
| Comparison row | 128GB | 256GB |
|---|---|---|
Brand New | $0 | $5 |
Flawless | $0 | $5 |
Good | $0 | $0 |
Average | $0 | $0 |
Fair | $0 | $0 |
Faulty | $0 | $0 |
HOW IT WORKS
Pick 128GB or 256GB, pick your carrier, and pick the grade that matches the wear. Do the white screen check for burn-in first, because that one test can move you to the bottom row. The Buyback price you accept is held for 14 days.
We email you a prepaid USPS label. Sign out of your Google account, erase the phone, and box it. Nothing else has to come with it. No charger, no case, no box, and none of those add anything to your Buyback.
Your Edge (2022) clears inspection within 48 hours of arriving. If it matches what you told us, payment leaves the same day by gift card, PayPal, bank transfer or check. Every phone gets a Department of Defense grade wipe, whether we buy it or recycle it.

MOTOROLA EDGE (2022) BUYBACK QUESTIONS
Storage and wear decide it. A 256GB that has never been opened is $5, and a 256GB with no marks on it anywhere is $5. Below those two the numbers on this phone are very small, and several combinations are showing nothing at all today. The table above is live, so it is the honest answer for your exact phone rather than a guess.
Both came out in 2022 and the names are one word apart, so this catches people. The Plus has a 6.7 inch screen, three rear camera rings and a glass back, and it weighs 196 grams. The Edge (2022) has a 6.6 inch screen, a plastic back and weighs 170 grams. The certain answer is the model number in Settings, About phone: XT2205 is this phone, XT2201 is the Plus. If yours is the Plus, quote it on the Edge Plus (2022) page, because it pays several times more.
It does not matter for your price. Those three are the same Motorola Edge (2022) sold through different channels, and all three quote at the same number here. Open Settings, then About phone, and the model line will show you which one you have. What does change your price is the carrier, so pick the right one at the quote step.
Burn-in is a faint permanent shadow left on an OLED screen by a shape that sat in one place for months. The clock, the battery icon, the navigation bar at the bottom and the keyboard are the usual culprits.
Open a plain white image at full brightness, hold the phone at arm's length and tilt it. Anything you can read through the white is burn-in. It grades Faulty. This is the check people skip on a 2022 OLED phone, and it is the one that most often changes the grade.
Yes, we still buy it. A crack or a chip anywhere on the phone, screen, back or camera glass, moves it to Faulty. That is a grade, not a refusal. Run a fingernail across the glass rather than trusting your eyes, because a hairline crack you cannot see will still catch on a nail. What Faulty pays on this model is in the table above, and it is currently very low. Pick Faulty at the quote step and nothing changes when the phone reaches us.
Flawless means no marks at all. Not faint ones, not ones you have to angle it to see. Take the case off, take the screen protector off, and look under a lamp.
Below that, Good is light wear you cannot spot at arm's length. Average is light wear you can see but cannot feel with a fingernail. Fair is heavy wear you can feel, with no cracks or chips anywhere. Faulty covers every crack and chip, and everything that has stopped working.
There is no battery rule on this phone and no percentage to hit. We do not ask you to go looking for a battery health screen. A battery that has genuinely stopped working is caught the same way any broken part is: if something on the phone does not work, the phone is Faulty. A battery that is simply older than it used to be is not a fault and does not move your grade.
We cannot buy that one, and the reason is practical rather than fussy. A phone with no power cannot be tested, and your photos, messages and saved passwords cannot be erased from it. So we will not put a price on it. What we will do is recycle it for nothing. Mail it on a free label and we wipe it to Department of Defense standards and dispose of it properly. Want it back instead? That is free too.
Not while there is a balance on it. A phone still sitting on a carrier installment plan or a lease counts as being under a financial obligation, and we do not purchase devices under financial obligations. Settle it, own it outright, then come back and quote it normally. Your carrier can tell you the payoff figure in a minute.
No, and these are two separate checks.
The Google account lock has to be off. If the phone is still signed in to your account, it locks itself after a factory reset and nobody else can set it up. Remove the account in Settings, then Passwords and accounts, before you erase it.
The IMEI has to be clean. Anything reported lost or stolen, blocked by a carrier, or blacklisted fails that check and we have to turn it down. Dial star hash zero six hash to read your IMEI, or find it in Settings, About phone.
Remove your Google account first, in Settings, then Passwords and accounts. Then open Settings, System, Reset options, and choose Erase all data. Doing it in that order is what stops the phone locking itself against the next owner. There is a full walkthrough on our erase your device page. We run a Department of Defense grade wipe when it arrives as well, but yours needs to come off first.
No. Nothing has to come with a Motorola. Chargers, cables, cases and boxes are not priced into the quote, so sending them adds nothing to your Buyback and only gives them a chance to go missing. Send the phone on its own. Take the SIM card and any memory card out first.
Sometimes it is, and on a phone this old we will say so plainly. A carrier will often hand you a bill credit for an Edge (2022) that beats cash, as long as you are signing a new line and staying with them for two or three years to earn it. Our number is smaller, it is cash, and it is yours the day the phone clears inspection with no strings on your account. Compare the two before you decide. We would rather you took the better deal than felt caught out.
Four ways, and you choose at checkout. A gift card is emailed and works out about 3 percent better than the rest, because the brands add a bonus on top. PayPal is instant, though PayPal takes a 2.99 percent fee. A bank transfer lands in 2 to 4 days and a mailed check in 3 to 5. Whichever you pick, it goes out the same day your phone clears inspection. One exception: a sealed Brand New phone is paid through PayPal only.
Pick your storage, your carrier and your grade. It takes about a minute, and we hold the price for 14 days.
