Most people call it a trade-in. We call it a Buyback, and the difference is what happens after you mail it. We wipe it, we track it, and we tell you what we found.
The 2024 is the first Moto G Stylus with an OLED screen, a 6.7 inch pOLED panel, and that one change brings a rule the older ones never had. Burn-in is an automatic Faulty here. A faint keyboard, a ghost of the status bar, or the outline of an app you left open for a year gets baked into an OLED and it does not come back out.
Test it properly and it takes a minute. Turn the brightness all the way up. Open a plain white image full screen in a dim room and look across the panel at an angle, not straight on. Then do the same with a mid gray image, because gray shows what white hides. Anything you can see standing still while the picture behind it changes is burn-in.
Plenty of things are not burn-in and are not worth grading yourself down for. A single stuck or dead pixel is not burn-in. Color that shifts when you tilt the phone is how OLED behaves, not a fault. An image that lingers for a few seconds and then fades on its own is temporary retention, and it clears. Only the mark that stays counts.
The rest is the same as every Motorola we buy. Any crack or chip, front glass, back or camera glass, is an automatic Faulty even when the phone works perfectly. A Google account or FRP lock means we cannot buy it at all. If you want to sell a broken Moto G Stylus 5G (2024) rather than a clean one, the table has a row for that, and if it will not power on we will recycle it free instead.

HOW IT WORKS
Choose 128GB or 256GB, your carrier, and the grade that matches the wear. Run the white and gray screen check first, since burn-in is the one thing on this model that changes the answer. The Buyback price you accept is locked for 14 days.
We email you a prepaid USPS label. Remove your Google account, then factory reset, then pull out the SIM and any memory card. The charger, the cable, the case and the box are not priced in, so those stay with you.
A real person checks the phone by hand within 48 hours of it arriving. If it matches what you told us, the payment goes out that day by gift card, PayPal, bank transfer or check. Every phone is wiped to Department of Defense standards, bought or recycled.

You are looking for anything that stays put while the picture behind it changes: a shadow of the keyboard, a bar across the top, the shape of an app icon. That is burn-in and it puts the phone into Faulty. If nothing holds still, you have a clean panel and you can grade on the marks alone.
Often it is not, so check before you grade yourself down. One dead or stuck pixel is a pixel fault, not burn-in. Color that shifts as you tilt the phone is how every OLED behaves and it is not damage. An image that hangs around for a few seconds after you close it and then fades is temporary image retention, which clears on its own. Only a mark that is still there minutes later, over different content, counts.
Settings, About phone, Model number is the reliable answer. XT2419 is the 2024. XT2317 is the 2023 and XT2517 is the 2025. Two physical tells help if the phone is not to hand: the 2024 was the first with an OLED screen and the first with the fingerprint reader under the glass rather than in the side button, and it says 5G on the box while the 2023 does not. Yes. Any crack or chip, on the front glass, the back or the camera glass, sends the phone to Faulty however well it works. That is a price rather than a refusal. A cracked 256GB pays $8 and a cracked 128GB pays $5. Pick Faulty at the quote step and nothing changes when it gets to us.
That grades Faulty. Any function that has stopped working puts a Motorola into Faulty, and the fingerprint reader counts like anything else. Try re-enrolling a finger first, since a reader that works after a fresh enrollment is a software problem rather than a broken part. If it still fails after a factory reset, grade it Faulty and quote it that way.
No marks at all. Take the case off, hold it under a lamp and tilt it. If you find nothing on the screen, the frame or the back, that is Flawless.
Good is light wear that vanishes at arm's length. Average is marks you can see close up but cannot feel with a fingernail. Fair is heavy wear you can feel, with no cracks and no chips. And anything cracked, chipped, burned in or broken is Faulty, whatever the rest of it looks like.
No. There is no battery percentage rule on Motorola phones. Do not go looking for a health screen and do not worry about a number, because we do not use one. A battery that has genuinely failed is caught by the same rule that catches any broken part, and that is the only route it takes into the grade.
We cannot buy it, and the reason is simple. Without power we cannot test the phone and we cannot clear your photos, messages and saved passwords off it, so there is nothing honest to price. Free recycling is the offer instead. Mail it on our label, we destroy the data and dispose of the hardware properly. Want it back rather than recycled? That return is free as well.
Not until it is paid off. A phone under an installment plan or a lease is under a financial obligation, and we do not purchase devices under financial obligations. Settle the balance, own it outright, then bring it back here and quote it normally.
Then it is a no at any grade. A Google account lock or FRP lock leaves the phone stuck at a sign-in screen that only the original owner clears, and a blacklisted, lost, stolen or carrier blocked IMEI is the same answer. Remove your Google account first and factory reset second, and the lock never travels with the phone.
They are not really the same offer. A carrier gives you credit against your bill, spread over 24 or 36 months, and only while you keep paying them. We send cash once, the day after your phone clears inspection, and you owe us nothing afterwards. Pull up the carrier number if you want to compare them side by side. Two steps, in this order, or the lock stays behind. Settings, Passwords and accounts, tap your Google account, Remove account. Then Settings, System, Reset options, Erase all data.
