SELL YOUR MOTO G STYLUS (2025)
A Moto G Stylus (2025) pays between $6 and $55 depending on storage and condition. That is the widest spread of any Moto G Stylus we buy, which makes both halves of the question worth getting right: which one you actually own, and what state it is really in.
Most people call it a trade-in. We call it a Buyback, and the difference shows up after you mail it. We wipe it, we track it, and we tell you what we found.
Motorola has now sold three phones called the Moto G Stylus in three years and the names barely move. Open Settings, tap About phone, and read the Model number line. XT2517 is the 2025. XT2419 is the 2024 and XT2317 is the 2023. That one line settles it, and it matters more than usual here, because the 2025 is worth several times what the 2023 fetches.
Once you know the model, the second question is the one that moves the money most. On this phone the drop from a clean screen to a cracked one is bigger than any two grades sitting next to each other. Any crack or chip is an automatic Faulty, however well the phone works, and it does not have to be dramatic to count.
So run a fingernail over three places rather than one. Across the front glass, including the very edge where it curves away. Across the flat back panel. And around the raised camera island, which sticks out far enough to take the impact when the phone lands face up. A scratch lets your nail glide. A chip stops it. If it stops anywhere, that is Faulty, and it is better to know now than to find out at inspection.
The rest is the same as any Motorola we buy. Screen burn-in is an automatic Faulty on this one, since it has an OLED panel. Anything blacklisted, still on a payment plan, or locked to somebody's Google account we cannot buy at all. And if you want to sell a broken Moto G Stylus (2025) rather than a tidy one, the table below has a row for it.
LIVE PRICES
The used resale value of a Moto G Stylus (2025) runs from $6 for a cracked 128GB up to $55 for a sealed 256GB. A 256GB you have used carefully sits at $45.
The 256GB pays more than the 128GB at every single grade, so check the Storage line in Settings, About phone before you quote. Every figure below is pulled live from our own feed. These are the unlocked prices, and no carrier version of this phone pays more than these.
| Comparison row | 128GB | 256GB |
|---|---|---|
Brand New | $45 | $55 |
Flawless | $45 | $55 |
Good | $30 | $45 |
Average | $26 | $39 |
Fair | $18 | $27 |
Faulty | $6 | $9 |
HOW IT WORKS
Confirm the model number and the storage size in Settings, About phone, then pick your carrier and your grade. Run a fingernail round the camera island while you are there. The Buyback price you accept is locked for 14 days.
A prepaid USPS label arrives by email. Remove your Google account first, factory reset second, then take out the SIM and any memory card. The charger, the cable, the case and the box are not priced in, so keep those.
Someone checks your phone by hand within 48 hours of it arriving. Matches your description and the money leaves the same day, by gift card, PayPal, bank transfer or check. Every phone is wiped to Department of Defense standards whether we buy it or recycle it.
SPEC SHEET
Model number and storage size both live in Settings, About phone. The model number is also printed on the label on the box. Carrier versions of the same phone quote on this page too.

MOTO G STYLUS (2025) BUYBACK QUESTIONS
Start at the bottom, because it is the number people assume is zero. A cracked or broken 256GB Moto G Stylus (2025) still pays $9, and a cracked 128GB pays $6. Take the same 256GB phone up to Good, meaning light wear you cannot spot at arm's length, and it is $45. That gap is why grading honestly is worth the two minutes.
Settings, About phone, Model number. XT2517 is the 2025, XT2419 is the 2024, XT2317 is the 2023. Nothing else is as reliable, because the retail names are nearly identical and the boxes get thrown away.
Without the phone in hand, work backwards from the screen. The 2023 has a 720p LCD, no 5G and a fingerprint reader in the side button. The 2024 brought the OLED screen and moved the reader under the glass. The 2025 kept both and added a sharper 1.5K panel and an IP68 water rating. The older two have their own prices on our Moto G Stylus 5G (2024) and Moto G Stylus (2023) pages, and both are lower.
Settings, About phone, and look for the storage line, or open Settings, Storage and read the total rather than the free space. It is worth the ten seconds: the 256GB pays more than the 128GB at every grade on this model, and picking the wrong one means the phone arrives here and the quote gets corrected.
Yes, and it is worth quoting. Any crack or chip, on the front glass, the back panel or the camera glass, moves the phone to Faulty however perfectly it works. That is a price, not a refusal: $9 for a 256GB and $6 for a 128GB. The camera island is the spot people miss, because it stands proud of the back and takes the hit when the phone lands face up. Run a nail round it. A scratch glides and a chip catches.
Fair is heavy wear you can genuinely feel with a fingernail, deep scratches and worn corners, with no cracks and no chips anywhere and everything still working. Faulty starts the moment there is a crack, a chip, screen burn-in, or a function that has stopped working. There is no middle ground and no partial credit. A heavily scuffed phone with an intact screen is Fair. A pristine phone with one chipped corner is Faulty.
Yes, because this one has an OLED panel and OLEDs can burn in. It is an automatic Faulty. Check it with the brightness up in a dim room: fill the screen with a plain white image, then a mid gray one, and look for anything that stays put while the picture changes, like a shadow of the keyboard or a bar across the top. A newer phone is less likely to show it, but check anyway rather than assume.
Light wear that disappears at arm's length. Take the case off, hold the phone out under a normal lamp, and if you cannot pick out any marks from there, it is Good. Move down to Average when the marks are visible close up but your fingernail cannot feel them. Flawless is the rung above and means no marks at all, anywhere, under any light.
No. There is no battery percentage rule on any Motorola. Do not go hunting for a battery health screen, and do not let a number worry you, because we are not looking at one. A battery that has actually stopped working is caught by the rule that catches any broken part, and that is the only way it reaches the grade.
Not for money, no. A phone with no power cannot be tested, and your photos, messages and saved passwords cannot be cleared off it, so we will not price something nobody can check. Free recycling is the alternative: mail it on our label, the data is destroyed and the hardware is disposed of properly. Rather have it back? That return is free too.
Not while a balance remains. A phone on an installment plan or a lease is under a financial obligation, and we do not purchase devices under financial obligations. This catches a lot of 2025 phones, because plenty are still inside a 24 month agreement. Finish it, own the phone, then quote it here.
Then we cannot buy it at any grade. A Google account or FRP lock leaves the phone stuck at a sign-in screen only the original owner can pass. Blacklisted, reported lost or stolen, or carrier blocked is the same answer. Remove the Google account before the factory reset, in that order, and none of it happens.
They pay differently, so compare shapes as well as numbers. A carrier hands you credit against your bill over 24 or 36 months, and only for as long as you stay with them. We pay cash once, the day after inspection clears, and then we are done with each other. Go get the carrier number if you want them side by side. Ours is on this page and nothing sits behind it.
Two steps and the order matters. Settings, Passwords and accounts, tap your Google account, Remove account. Then Settings, System, Reset options, Erase all data. Your photos, messages and saved passwords are erased and they cannot be recovered. Our erase your device page walks through it. We wipe the phone again to Department of Defense standards when it lands, but yours has to come off first or the lock travels with it.
You choose at checkout from four. A gift card is emailed and comes out around 3 percent ahead, because the brands add a bonus on top. PayPal is instant with PayPal's own 2.99 percent fee. Bank transfer is 2 to 4 days and a mailed check is 3 to 5. Whichever you pick, it leaves the same day your phone clears inspection. Sealed Brand New phones are PayPal only.
Storage, carrier, grade. About a minute, and the number holds for 14 days.
