IPHONE AIR BUYBACK
We pay between $156 and $783 for an iPhone Air. Capacity, condition, and carrier are the three selections that change the price.
An Unlocked item pays more than a carrier locked item (Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, etc). Carrier locked means the phone will only run on one network until that network releases it. An Air being eSIM only does not protect it from that. We checked all ninety prices here, and unlocked is the highest of the five in every one of the eighteen squares of the grid. T-Mobile comes next, then AT&T, then Verizon, and anything else pays least.
Your carrier calls this a trade-in. We call it a Buyback, and on this phone one detail does most of the work. The fault that matters here is one you may not be able to see. If you grade the Air as straight and we find a curve, nothing is taken from you. We tell you the new number first, and if you do not like it the phone is posted back at our cost. A counter cannot offer that, because by then the phone is behind it. Being wrong about your own phone is allowed here.
One thing worth saying before you pick a grade. This phone earns Fair easily. It is thin enough that plenty of people carry it without a case, and titanium takes surface marks. So Fair is where a lot of these land, and Fair is an ordinary row with a real price behind it. We would rather say that now than start you at the best grade and let you work down.
Set the Air next to any other iPhone and the difference is not subtle. It is 5.6mm through the middle, which is thinner than the charging port looks like it should allow. No iPhone Apple has built is thinner. The frame is titanium, the Grade 5 kind, and that decides how the phone ages.
Titanium does not dent the way aluminum does. It scratches, and the finish scuffs along the rails where your fingers sit, but the metal underneath stays where it was put. Surface marks on an Air are wear rather than damage. Wear you cannot feel with a fingernail is Average. Wear you can feel is Fair. Neither one is a rejection.
Bending is the real risk, and 5.6mm is why. A frame this shallow bows along its whole length instead of denting in one spot. That makes a bent Air sit perfectly flat on a desk and look fine.
So check it with your eyes at the right angle. Hold the phone up at eye level and sight along one long edge, with something you know is straight behind it. A door frame works. So does a countertop edge, or the spine of a hardback book. Turn the phone over and do the other edge. You are looking for a shallow curve, not a kink. A curve you can only see this way is still a bent frame, and a bent frame is Faulty. It takes about fifteen seconds.
Now the part that is not there. Run a finger down both long edges. There is no pinhole and no tray. Apple built every iPhone Air without one, in every country, so the phone carries its SIM card in software instead. That is called an eSIM.
This matters for your grade. A missing or damaged SIM tray forces Faulty on phones that were built with one, and that includes imported versions of the iPhone 17 and the two Pros. On an Air the rule has nothing to bite on. A smooth edge on both sides is exactly how it left the factory.
It does give you one job. Move your eSIM to your next phone before you erase this one, because there is no card to pull out and nothing to hand over. Your carrier can transfer the line in a few minutes if the Air is already wiped.
The rest is straightforward. We buy an Air scratched, bent, cracked or with a tired battery, and every grade including Faulty carries a price. The price you accept is held for 14 days. Shipping is free both ways, we inspect within 48 hours of the box arriving, and payment leaves that day. A sealed phone is paid through PayPal only.
LIVE PRICES
The used resale value of an iPhone Air runs from $156 for a cracked 256GB up to $783 for a sealed 1TB. A 512GB in Good condition, which is what most people are actually holding, is $580.
Three capacities, six grades, eighteen unlocked prices, and each one is read live from the feed that prices your quote.

Flawless | $590 | $650 | $725 |
Good | $520 | $580 | $655 |

Fair | $312 | $348 | $393 |
Faulty | $156 | $174 | $197 |
HOW IT WORKS
Capacity, carrier, grade. Sight along both long edges first, because a bend is the one thing on an Air that looks like nothing and grades like Faulty. Scratches on the titanium do not need worrying about, they are wear. The iPhone Air Buyback price you accept is fixed for fourteen days.
A prepaid USPS label reaches you by email. Move your eSIM to your new phone, sign out of iCloud, erase the Air, then pack it flat with padding under and over it. A 5.6mm phone loose in a big box is asking to arrive curved. Send the phone alone, no cable and no case.
We inspect inside 48 hours of the parcel arriving, and pay the same day it clears. Gift card, PayPal, bank transfer or check. If the frame turns out to be bowed and you graded it Average, we tell you the new figure first and you can accept it or have the Air posted back to you at no cost.

IPHONE AIR BUYBACK QUESTIONS
It comes down to capacity and wear. A 512GB in Average condition is $545. The same phone in Good is $580. A cracked 1TB still pays $197. The quote tool at the top will price your exact one.
Hold it up at eye level and sight along one long edge, using something genuinely straight behind it. A door frame works, so does a countertop edge or the spine of a hardback. Then flip it and do the other edge. You are looking for a shallow curve, not a kink.
This matters more on an Air than on any other iPhone. At 5.6mm the frame bows along its whole length instead of denting, so a bent Air can sit perfectly flat on a table and still be bent. If you see the curve, grade it Faulty. That is a price, not a refusal, and it is a much better outcome than being surprised at inspection.
They set your grade, but they do not put you in Faulty. Titanium resists denting, so what an Air picks up is surface scratching and scuffed finish along the rails. If you cannot feel the marks with a fingernail, that is Average. If you can feel them, that is Fair. Both are ordinary prices here. Only cracks, chips and bends move an Air out of the wear grades altogether.
No, it never had one. Apple built every iPhone Air eSIM only, in every country it sells them, so there is no tray to be missing or damaged. That is worth saying because a missing or damaged SIM tray does force Faulty on phones that were made with one, and on imported versions of the iPhone 17 and the two Pros it genuinely applies. On an Air it cannot. A smooth edge on both sides is exactly how it left the factory.
Do it before you erase, not after. On your new phone, look for the option to transfer a line from a nearby iPhone during setup, or use Settings, Cellular, Add eSIM and pick Transfer From Nearby iPhone. If the new phone is already set up, your carrier can move the line for you in a few minutes. Once the Air is erased there is no card to remove and nothing physical to hand over, so a line left stranded on it has to be re-issued by the carrier.
Pick it up. The Air is 5.6mm and feels like nothing in the hand, and it has one camera lens on the back. The iPhone 17 has two lenses side by side and is noticeably chunkier. Screens differ too, 6.5 inches on the Air against 6.3 on the 17. If it turns out to be the other one, our iPhone 17 page has its own numbers. Three lenses on the back means you want the iPhone 17 Pro page instead.
Yes, and it is worth doing. A crack or a chip anywhere puts the phone in Faulty, which pays $156 at 256GB, $174 at 512GB and $197 at 1TB. Choose Faulty at the quote step and there is nothing to renegotiate when it gets here.
Faulty, along with any phone showing a service battery message. Settings, Battery, Battery Health & Charging gives you Maximum Capacity as a straight number. Above 80 the battery makes no difference to the grade whatsoever. A thin phone with a small battery drains faster than a Pro Max, and that is normal rather than a fault.
Fair is heavy wear you can feel with a fingernail, but nothing cracked, chipped or bent. Faulty starts the moment any of those three appear, and it also covers burn-in, a battery under 80 percent, engraving, a dead button, an audio fault or a display someone has replaced. On an iPhone Air the most common route from Fair into Faulty is a bend nobody spotted, which is exactly why the edge check is worth doing before you quote.
Not for cash. Without power we cannot test it and you cannot clear your data from it, and we are not going to guess at a price for a phone neither of us can look inside. The offer instead is free recycling, done properly, or a free trip back to you. Both use the same prepaid label, so it costs you nothing either way.
Not yet. A phone with an installment plan or a lease still running counts as being under a financial obligation, and those are outside what we can buy. Nothing to do with the condition of the phone. Clear the balance so it is genuinely yours, and then it quotes exactly like any other iPhone Air.
No to both. A clean ESN is a requirement at every grade, so anything reported lost or stolen, blocked by a network, or on a blacklist has to be sent back. A phone still signed in to an Apple Account is the same, because it cannot be set up by anybody else. Both are worth checking before the phone goes in the box rather than after.
They are two different deals. A carrier trade-in hands you bill credit, released a slice at a time across the next two or three years, and it usually ties you to that network for the whole run. A Buyback is money, paid in full the day your phone clears inspection, and you are free to leave the network the week after.
Your carrier does move our number, though. An Air being eSIM only does not mean it cannot be carrier locked, so pick the network your phone is tied to rather than assuming unlocked. Unlocked, AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon and Other are all quoted separately. For a benchmark, unlocked and Good at 256GB is $520 today, paid in full rather than as bill credit.
Move the eSIM first, then back up whatever matters. Open Settings, tap your name, scroll down and sign out, which is what actually releases Find My. Finish with Settings, General, Transfer or Reset iPhone, Erase All Content and Settings. Our erase your device page runs through the whole thing if you want to follow along on a second screen.
Everything that arrives here is wiped to Department of Defense standards regardless, including phones we recycle rather than buy. Doing your own erase first is what keeps the sale moving.
Four choices at checkout. Gift cards come by email and average around 3 percent more than the rest because brands add a bonus. PayPal is instant with PayPal's own 2.99 percent fee taken off. Bank transfer is 2 to 4 days, check is 3 to 5.
The payment leaves the same day your Air clears inspection. A sealed Brand New one is the exception and is paid through PayPal only.
Capacity, carrier, condition. A minute to quote, fourteen days to decide.
