On WiFi the range runs from $80 for a 128GB with cracked glass up to $515 for a 2TB nobody has opened. The thirty cells in between are all in the table lower down, and where you land on it is decided by how much storage you bought and what the tablet has been through since.
Most people sell a 12.9-inch Pro once in their life. We buy them week after week, and that lopsided experience is the practical value of a Buyback. Alone with one tablet you are trying to judge whether what you can see on the screen is a defect or just how this panel behaves, and we have had enough of them across the bench to know the answer without guessing. So the next few paragraphs are not a sales pitch. They are the mistake owners of this exact model make about their own screen, set out before you have to pick a grade.
The screen is what separates this Pro from every other iPad Apple sold that year.
Only the 12.9-inch got the XDR panel. Behind the glass sit 2596 separate backlight zones instead of one big lamp, and they switch off in groups so black comes out as actual black. That design has a side effect. Bright things on dark backgrounds pick up a soft halo, most obvious with white text on a black page or the Lock Screen clock in a dark room. Sellers see it, decide the screen is failing, and grade themselves down for nothing.
It is called blooming and it is the backlight working as designed. Here is how to tell it apart from a real fault: change what is on the screen. If the glow travels with the bright shape, that is blooming and it never costs you a grade. If a mark sits in the same spot while the picture underneath it changes, that is worth a closer look. Burn-in does sit on our Faulty list, but burn-in needs an OLED panel to happen and this one is not OLED. Mini-LED is still an LCD with a very clever backlight behind it.
So where to sell an iPad Pro 12.9-inch (6th generation) comes down to who reads the screen correctly. We grade what is actually wrong with it, not what the panel does on purpose. Sell a used one, sell a cracked one, sell one you stopped opening two years ago, all three get a number.
Prices in the table are WiFi. A WiFi + Cellular 12.9-inch pays more in all thirty positions, by an amount you cannot guess from the size alone: it is at its narrowest at 128GB, at its widest around 1TB, and it does not keep climbing at 2TB. We email a prepaid USPS label. Erase the tablet first, which signs you out of iCloud and drops Activation Lock at the same time. Then take it out of the keyboard, leave the Pencil and the charger on your desk, and box up the iPad by itself.
Inspection is done within 48 hours of the parcel arriving. Match the description and your money leaves that day, by gift card, PayPal, bank transfer or check, whichever you picked. Every tablet is wiped to DoD standard on arrival, recycled ones included.
SPEC SHEET
These model numbers are Apple's own, taken from the identify list rather than a third-party chart. They are printed in small gray type near the bottom of the back panel, and Settings, General, About carries the same thing. If that line shows a part code beginning with M or F, tap it and it swaps to the A-number.

Two inputs: capacity and condition. A 128GB in Average condition is $249. Move up to 1TB and Average becomes $338. A 2TB in Good condition, meaning wear you cannot spot at arm's length, pays $405. The table above lists all thirty WiFi prices and the quote box at the top gives you yours.
Almost certainly not. The 12.9-inch has a mini-LED backlight split into 2596 zones, and a zone lit for a bright object spills a little light into the dark area next to it. That halo is blooming, it comes with the technology, and it has never cost anyone a grade with us. The test is whether it moves. Scroll the page or open a different photo. A glow that follows the bright shape is normal. A shape that stays put regardless of what is underneath it is not, and you should mention it when you pick your grade.
Four generations of 12.9-inch Pro look close to identical from the outside, so use the A-number. A2436, A2437, A2764 and A2766 are the M2, which is this page. A2378, A2461, A2379 and A2462 are the iPad Pro 12.9-inch (5th generation) and it prices separately. If the tablet in your hand fits comfortably on a sheet of letter paper it is not a 12.9-inch at all, and you want the iPad Pro 11-inch (4th generation).
Yes. Cracks put it in the Faulty row, they do not put it in the bin. A Faulty 128GB pays $80 and a Faulty 2TB pays $122. The rule covers chips as well as cracks, and it covers the whole device, so the aluminum back and the little glass panel over the rear cameras count too. Tick Faulty and send it.
Grade it Faulty. Face ID is the only way this Pro unlocks, there being no Home button anywhere on it, so a TrueDepth camera that will not read your face is a hardware fault by our rules. You still get a real price for it.
That lands it in Faulty as well, and so does a Service Battery warning. Anything from 80 percent upward has no effect at all on the grade. Settings, then Battery, shows you the health figure on current software. If your Pro is on an older iPadOS release there is no figure to find, so go by how it behaves: one that falls off a cliff somewhere in the twenties, or that needs the cable to get through a working afternoon, is under the line.
Cellular, every time. The gap runs from a few dollars at Faulty to around 40 at the middle grades on the larger drives. A 512GB in Average condition is $296 as WiFi and $329 with cellular. iPads have no carrier lock, so it makes no difference whether the modem was on AT&T, T-Mobile or Verizon. To check which you have, look in Settings for a Cellular Data section, or look at the right edge for the SIM tray.
On a cellular 12.9-inch, a tray that is missing or damaged forces the Faulty grade. This generation still shipped with a physical nano-SIM tray, so the rule genuinely applies here. A WiFi model never had one, which means there is nothing to lose and nothing to check.
You can send it, but not for cash. Without power there is no way to test the tablet and no way to get your data off it, and we are not willing to resell something we could not clear. Free recycling or a free return, take your pick. Recycled units are wiped to DoD standard anyway.
Not until the balance is cleared. An iPad still being paid off, whether that is monthly installments or a lease, counts as a device under a financial obligation, and those fall outside what we purchase. Pay it off and it quotes normally.
No on both, and they are checked separately. Every 12.9-inch Pro has to arrive with Activation Lock switched off, which happens when you sign out of iCloud and erase it. On top of that, a cellular unit needs a clean IMEI, so anything lost, stolen or carrier blocked will fail even with Activation Lock cleared. A WiFi unit has no IMEI to check, so only the first test applies to it.
Not by a cent. Silver and Space Gray were the only two finishes and they price the same. Capacity, condition and cellular are what move the figure.
No, please hang on to them. Accessories are not part of the quote and cannot be paid for, and anything that arrives in the box with the tablet cannot be sent back. Sell the keyboard yourself. Send us the iPad on its own, out of its case.
Take a backup, then go to Settings, General, Transfer or Reset iPad, and choose Erase All Content and Settings. One tap clears your files, signs the tablet out of iCloud and turns off Activation Lock. If you want it walked through screen by screen, our device erasure guides cover it. We wipe it again on arrival to DoD standard, but do yours first or the tablet arrives locked.
Gift card, PayPal, bank transfer or check. The gift card is emailed and works out roughly 3 percent above the cash number because the brands add their own bonus. PayPal arrives instantly with PayPal's 2.99 percent fee taken off. Bank transfers take 2 to 4 days, checks 3 to 5.
