An iPad Pro 10.5-inch is worth between $7 and $96 on this page today. Three storage sizes and six grades sit between those two numbers, and all 18 of them are printed in the table below. These are small figures for a tablet that cost several hundred dollars in 2017, and we would rather say so than talk around it.
A Buyback is a purchase of a working machine, and on a Pro that list is longer than it sounds. This one has four speakers, two microphones, a camera with a flash beside it, a fingerprint reader in the Home button and a screen that redraws itself 120 times a second. All of it has to be working. That is why one dead speaker costs you more on this page than a scratch across the back does, and why a tablet in otherwise lovely shape can still land on the bottom row of the grid below.
10.5 inches. Apple used that number on exactly one iPad Pro, and then never again.
It was new in June 2017 and it was the whole point of the tablet. The 9.7-inch Pro it replaced had thick black borders around the glass. Apple cut those borders by nearly 40 percent and put 20 percent more screen in a body that barely grew. Same footprint in your bag, a noticeably bigger picture.
Then in 2019 Apple built the iPad Air 3 on that same outside shape. Same 10.5-inch screen, same 2224 by 1668, same height and width down to the millimeter, thirteen grams lighter. So knowing you own a 10.5-inch iPad tells you nothing about what it is worth, and the two get mixed up constantly.
Three ways to separate them, fastest first. Count the speaker grilles: this Pro has them at both ends, four speakers in total, and the Air 3 has one at each end. Look at the rear camera: the Pro has a flash sitting next to the lens, and the Air 3 has no flash at all. Then the finish, because Rose Gold was a Pro color and the Air 3 never came in it.
Those narrow borders have a grading consequence, and it is the one that costs people money on this model. The glass now runs right out to the aluminum, so there is almost no bezel left to absorb a knock. Corners take the hit instead. Sit down with the iPad and run a fingernail slowly all the way around the rim, over each corner, feeling for the seam where the glass meets the metal. Anything your nail catches on is a chip, a chip is a crack, and any crack anywhere is Faulty. It is worth two minutes because it changes which row of the table you are reading.
Where to sell an iPad Pro 10.5-inch is mostly a question of who still bothers to quote one. We buy them used and we buy them broken. Choose 64GB, 256GB or 512GB, WiFi or WiFi + Cellular, and the grade that honestly matches the wear. Do the fingernail lap around the rim before you decide, because on this thin a border the corners are where the damage hides. The Buyback price you accept is held for 14 days.
We email a prepaid USPS label. Sign out of iCloud and erase the iPad before you pack it, since that is what takes Activation Lock off. Send the tablet by itself. Keyboards, Pencils, cases and chargers are worth nothing on the quote and we have no way to return them.
Inspection happens within 48 hours of arrival. Match your description and payment goes out that same day, by gift card, PayPal, bank transfer or check. Every tablet through here gets a DoD-grade wipe, bought or recycled.

This is the question that catches people, because the two are the same size and shape and the same screen. Count speakers. The Pro has grilles at both the top and the bottom, four speakers, and the iPad Air 3 has one grille at each end and two speakers. Then look at the back: the Pro has a flash beside the camera and the Air 3 has nothing next to its lens. A Rose Gold one is a Pro, since the Air 3 was only ever Silver, Space Gray or Gold. Failing all that, A1701, A1709 and A1852 are this page and nothing else is.
Look at how much black surrounds the picture. The 9.7-inch Pro has a wide black border and this one does not, because Apple cut that border by nearly 40 percent to make the 10.5. Storage settles any doubt: the 9.7-inch came as 32GB, 128GB or 256GB, and the 10.5-inch came as 64GB, 256GB or 512GB. So a 32GB or 128GB Pro is not this one and belongs on our iPad Pro 9.7-inch page. Yes, and a chip counts the same as a crack. On a border this thin the corners take most of the damage, so a nick where the glass meets the aluminum is the usual finding. A cracked or chipped 64GB still pays $7 and a 512GB pays $11. Pick Faulty in the quote, describe it plainly, and the offer holds when the tablet arrives.
That is Faulty. Rest a finger on the Home button and see whether it opens the iPad. If it will not read, or the button no longer clicks and responds, the grade drops even on a tablet that looks perfect. There is no fingerprint sensor anywhere else on this model to fall back on.
It does. Any audio fault is Faulty, and this iPad has four speakers plus two microphones, which is more things to go wrong than on most tablets. Play music at half volume and walk a slow circle around it, listening at each end, then record a few seconds of voice memo and play it back. A blocked grille full of pocket lint is worth cleaning out first, because that is not a fault.
Faulty, and the same for a Service Battery warning. Nothing in between. Anything at 80 percent or above makes no difference at all to the price. There is no health percentage to read on this model, because a 10.5-inch Pro cannot run the software that added one, so judge it by behavior instead: a tablet that will not last an afternoon off the cable, that cuts out at 20 or 30 percent, or that only stays awake while it is plugged in, is one to quote at the bottom of the table. We measure it properly when it reaches us.
It is higher on every combination we buy, and the gap grows with the capacity. At 64GB it runs from 1 dollar at Faulty to 6 on a sealed one, at 256GB from 2 to 13, and at 512GB from 3 to 15. One quirk worth knowing: at Good, Average, Fair and Faulty a 256GB Cellular pays exactly what a 512GB WiFi pays. The biggest number on this page, $109, is a sealed 512GB Cellular. There is no carrier lock on an iPad, so whichever network it was on does not matter to us. What does matter on a Cellular one is that the IMEI is clean and the nano-SIM tray is still in the edge, because a missing or damaged tray is Faulty.
No. The quote covers the tablet by itself, so a Pencil, a Smart Keyboard, a folio and the charger are all worth zero on top of it. Send them and they cannot be mailed back, because accessories have no return route once they are logged in. Sell them on separately if they are still working.
Not for cash. If it stays dark we cannot test the tablet and cannot wipe your data off it, and buying it blind is not something we do. Leave it on a Lightning charger for a full hour before you give up, because a battery flat for a year or two often looks broken and is not. If it is genuinely dead, we will recycle it free or ship it back to you free, and anything recycled is still wiped to DoD standards.
Not while the payments are running. An iPad still on an installment plan or a lease sits under a financial obligation, and those are outside what we can purchase. Settle the balance first and it quotes exactly like any other 10.5-inch Pro.
No to both, and they fail for separate reasons.
Activation Lock has to be switched off before we can buy any iPad, WiFi or Cellular. You do that by signing out of your Apple account and erasing the tablet. We cannot remove it from this end and neither can anyone else.
Then there is the IMEI, which only Cellular models have. It has to come back clean, so a tablet reported lost or stolen, or blocked by a carrier, is one we have to decline. You can read the IMEI in Settings, General, About. A WiFi 10.5-inch has no IMEI, so that half does not apply.
A trade-in at Apple or at a carrier comes back as credit. It only exists if you buy something new from them, and it is spent before you ever see it. A Buyback is cash for the iPad on its own. You pick the storage and the grade, the price is on screen before you post anything, and it is held for 14 days.
The other difference is the check. We open the box and go over the tablet by hand, then tell you what we found. That is why a cracked one still has a price here instead of being turned away. Color makes no difference either way: Rose Gold, Gold, Silver and Space Gray all pay the same.
Take a backup, then go to Settings, General, Transfer or Reset iPad, and tap Erase All Content and Settings. It will ask for your Apple account password. There are four ways to take the money. Gift card is emailed and works out about 3 percent higher than the cash number because the brands top it up. PayPal is instant and PayPal takes its 2.99 percent fee. Bank transfer is 2 to 4 days, a check is 3 to 5. All of them go out the day inspection clears.
