HOW IT WORKS
Pick your storage, your connectivity and the grade that matches the wear. The price you accept is locked for 14 days. It won't drop while the iPad is in the mail.
We email you a prepaid USPS label. Erase the iPad first. Then pad the screen so nothing presses on it. Drop it at any post office. Shipping is free both ways, so wanting the iPad back costs you nothing either.
We check every iPad Air 3 by hand within 48 hours of it arriving. If it matches what you told us, the money goes out that day. We pay via gift card, PayPal, bank transfer, or check. If we find something you didn't know about, we'll tell you what it changes.

Apple shipped two tablets on this chip in March 2019. The iPad mini 5 is the small one at 7.9 inches. The iPad Air 3 is 10.5 inches. The older iPad Air 2 is 9.7 inches and has no Smart Connector. Look for the three gold dots on the long edge. The iPad Air 4 came next, and it dropped the Home button for USB-C. So a round Home button under the screen means you don't have an Air 4.

No. A trade-in is what Apple, a carrier or a retailer does. They take the iPad against something else you're buying. It usually comes back as store credit.
A Buyback is what we do. We buy the tablet outright and pay via gift card, PayPal, bank transfer, or check. Nothing is tied to a new purchase. The two are different deals, so the two numbers are different.

This is the last iPad Air with a round Home button. The Touch ID sensor sits inside it. One part does two jobs, so two Faulty rules meet in one place.
Test the fingerprint reader first. Open Settings, then Touch ID & Passcode, and add a new fingerprint. Then rest that finger on the Home button from the lock screen.
Now test the button as a button. Press it once inside an app to reach the Home screen. Press it twice quickly for the app switcher. Try it several times, and try it again on a cold iPad.
A Touch ID sensor that won't read grades the iPad Faulty. A button that has stopped working does the same. On this model, one worn part can trip both rules.

Yes. Any crack or chip grades it Faulty, front, back or lens cover. Faulty is a real price here, not a polite no. A worn battery works the same way. It grades Faulty, and we still buy the tablet.
We can't buy it. Without power we can't test the iPad or clear your data, and we won't pay for something we can't check. Send it in and we'll recycle it free, or mail it back to you free.
That grades the iPad Faulty. Settings, then Battery, shows you the health figure on current software. On older software there's no figure to read.
Watch what the iPad does instead. Charge it to full, then use it for an hour. Check how much charge is left. A tired battery drains fast and runs hot on the cable. It can also quit while the icon still shows charge. Grade that one Faulty.
Anything at 80 percent or above doesn't change your grade.
Sooner rather than later. Values fall hardest in the weeks after Apple ships a new iPad. Waiting for a quiet moment usually costs you.
A drawer costs you too. The battery ages whether you use the tablet or not, and a battery under 80 percent grades it Faulty.
The two are quoted separately. Pick the one you actually own in the quote tool and you'll see your own number.
Not sure which you have? Open Settings, General, About and look for a Cellular Data line. Only Cellular models carry one.
Apple will quote you on this iPad as well, usually as store credit. Ours is $26 for an Average 64GB on WiFi, in cash, sent the day we finish checking it.
No. We don't purchase devices under financial obligations. An iPad on an installment plan or a lease can't be sold here. Clear the balance and we'll quote it normally.
No, and a tablet has two separate checks.
Activation Lock has to be off. That one applies to every iPad Air 3, WiFi or Cellular. Sign out of iCloud on the tablet and it clears.
The IMEI has to be clean, and that one applies to Cellular models only. A WiFi iPad Air 3 has no IMEI at all, so there's nothing there to check. If yours is Cellular and it's been reported lost or stolen, we can't buy it. Same answer if a carrier has blocked it.
No, keep them. We buy the iPad Air 3 on its own, and accessories aren't priced into the quote. A 1st generation Apple Pencil, a Smart Keyboard, a case or the charger adds nothing to your number.
We can't pay for extras, and we can't promise to send them back. Sell them separately or keep them for your next tablet.
Back up first. Then sign out of iCloud so Find My switches off, and erase the tablet in Settings. Signing out is also what clears Activation Lock. Our Device Erasure Guides walk you through it.
Every iPad we take gets wiped to Department of Defense standards when it reaches us, whatever state it arrives in.
Depends what you want from it. The numbers on this page are small, and we'd rather you saw that before you tape a box shut. A seven year old iPad in average shape is worth tens of dollars, not hundreds.
