The S Pen slides into a silo in the bottom left corner of the phone, and on a Galaxy S24 Ultra it is not an accessory. It ships in the box and the body is built around it. A phone that arrives here without it grades Faulty. Not one grade down. Straight to the bottom of the column. Find the Good row in the table below, then the Faulty row underneath it at the same capacity, and read the drop between them. On this model that whole drop is riding on a stylus the size of a chopstick, and once the box is taped there is no getting it back.
This pen is also not a plain stick of plastic. The Galaxy S24 Ultra's S Pen has a battery and a Bluetooth radio inside it, which is what drives Air actions, the remote camera shutter and the wave gestures. Samsung took Bluetooth back out of the S Pen on the Ultra that followed, so a pen borrowed from a newer phone is a different part. Send the one that came with yours.
Test it now, before you pick a grade. Pull the pen out of the silo. The phone should buzz and the Air Command menu should open by itself. Open Settings, tap Advanced features, then S Pen, and check it is connected. If the pen writes but nothing else happens, its little battery is flat, so drop it back in the silo for ten minutes and try again. A pen that never wakes up is a fault, and faults grade Faulty here.

We email you a prepaid USPS label. Sign out of your Google account and factory reset the phone, then slide the S Pen back into the silo and box it. Leave the charger, the case and the retail box at home. We cannot pay for any of them and they only give the parcel more to lose.
Your Ultra is checked by hand within 48 hours of arriving. If it matches what you told us, payment goes out that same day by gift card, PayPal, bank transfer or check. If we find something you did not mention, we tell you what we found and what it changes, and you can take the phone back for free instead.

Yes, and this is the one warning on this page worth reading twice. The S Pen is part of the phone, not an extra. If the silo is empty when we open the box, the phone grades Faulty whatever else it looks like.
The gap is not small. A 1TB Ultra in Good condition pays $485. The same phone with no pen is $97.
Chargers, cases, cables and the retail box are the opposite. None of them are priced in, so keep them.
We grade what arrives, so an Ultra with an empty silo is quoted and paid as Faulty. That is a real number and it is in the table above, not a rejection, and nothing about the phone changes it.
Before you settle for that, look properly. Pens end up down the side of a car seat, in a laptop bag pocket, or still in the case the phone came out of. If you replace it, replace it with a genuine Galaxy S24 Ultra pen. The one from the Ultra that came after has no Bluetooth in it, so it will write but it will not do the rest of what this phone expects.
The silo answers it in two seconds. Look at the bottom edge of the phone for a slot with a flat plastic cap the width of a pencil. Only the Ultra has one. Yes. Any crack or chip, front, back or over a camera lens, grades Faulty, and Faulty is a price we pay. A 512GB in that state is $85 and a 1TB is $97. Pick Faulty at the quote step and nothing will change when we open the box.
Fine scratches are a different thing. Gorilla Armor takes hairline marks in its anti-glare coating and they are wear, not damage. Run a fingernail across the glass. If it drops into a line, that is a crack. If it slides over, it is a scratch, and a scratched but whole phone is still Fair at worst.
It does. Screen burn-in grades Faulty on every Galaxy S, because every one of them has an OLED panel and OLED is what burns.
Test it in a dim room. Turn the brightness up, open a plain white image full screen, and look across the panel at an angle. A ghost of the clock, the status bar icons or the keyboard means burn-in. A single bright or dead pixel is not burn-in, and neither is the slight color shift you get looking at any OLED from the side.
Yes, at the Faulty price. Our Samsung rule is broader than a checklist: if something on the phone does not work, the phone is Faulty. That covers a dead side key, a rattling speaker, a mic nobody can hear you on, a fingerprint reader that will not read, a camera that will not focus and anything else you would call broken.
Samsung ships the test for this. Open the Samsung Members app, go to the Discover tab, tap Diagnostics, and it will walk you through the touchscreen, the buttons, the speakers, the mics, the cameras, the sensors, the charging and the S Pen. Ten minutes there and you will know your grade before we do.
No. There is no battery percentage rule on Samsung phones here, so do not go hunting for a health screen and do not knock your own grade down over a battery that gets you to dinner instead of bedtime. A worn battery is normal on a 2024 phone and it does not move the price by itself.
The only way a battery touches your grade is if it has actually failed. A phone that will not hold any charge, that shuts off at 30 percent, or that has swollen enough to lift the back panel counts as a fault like anything else, and faults are Faulty.
That is the one we cannot buy. With no power we cannot test what we are paying for, and you cannot get your photos, messages and saved passwords off it first. Putting a number on an unknown helps neither of us.
Send it on the same free label anyway if you want it gone. We wipe it to Department of Defense standards and recycle it properly at no cost, or we mail it straight back to you, also at no cost. Try a different cable and a wall plug first, though. Dead chargers outnumber dead phones.
Not while there is money owed on it. A phone still running through a carrier installment plan or a lease is a phone under a financial obligation, and we do not purchase those. Clear the balance so the account shows the phone as yours, and then it quotes like any other Ultra on this page.
No, and there are three separate locks worth checking before you ship it.
A Google account lock, sometimes called FRP, has to be off. Sign out of your Google account and then factory reset the phone: Settings, General management, Reset, Factory data reset. Doing it in that order is what clears the lock. Our erase your device page has the steps with pictures.
A tripped Knox counter cannot be undone and we cannot buy a phone that has one, so a rooted or custom firmware Ultra is out. And a phone reported lost or stolen, blacklisted, or blocked by a carrier fails the IMEI check and comes back to you unpaid. Dial *#06# to read your IMEI and check it before you commit.

It is worth real money. A 1TB in Flawless condition is $535 unlocked. The same phone locked to AT&T is $378, to T-Mobile $344, and to Verizon $248. If your contract is finished, ask your carrier to release the phone before you sell it. If you would rather not wait, pick the carrier you have and the quote adjusts itself.
No. Titanium Black, Titanium Gray, Titanium Violet and Titanium Yellow were the four in stores, and Titanium Blue, Titanium Green and Titanium Orange were sold on Samsung's own site. All seven pay the same to the cent. Storage, carrier and condition are the only three things that move the number.
No. A carrier trade-in hands back bill credit, usually drip fed over 24 or 36 months, and it only exists if you sign up for a new line or a new phone at the same time. Stop paying that carrier and the credit stops with it.
