SELL YOUR MOTOROLA EDGE PLUS (2023)
A Motorola Edge Plus (2023) pays between $16 and $118. That is the widest spread of any Edge we buy, which is why this page spends its time on how to grade the phone rather than on how fast we pay.
Most people call it a trade-in. We call it a Buyback. A carrier hands you credit against your next phone. We send you money, and you owe us nothing afterwards.
This is the only Motorola in the Edge family wearing Corning Gorilla Glass Victus on both faces. That is a real step up from the Gorilla Glass 3 on the 2022 flagship, and it does what Corning claims. These screens stay clean.
Which sets a quiet trap. A screen that still looks new tempts people into quoting high, and then the grade slips at inspection, because the damage was never on the screen at all. It was on the aluminum frame, which has no special glass protecting it and takes every drop first.
So grade this one from the outside in, and leave the screen until last. Case off. Run a fingernail slowly along both long edges of the frame and around all four corners. A shiny worn patch is light wear. A dent you can feel as a step under your nail is heavier wear, and that is Fair. A chip out of the glass at any corner, front or back, is Faulty, and so is a corner that has gone visibly out of line.
Two minutes of that is worth more here than on any of this phone's relatives. Top to bottom, this table covers more than a hundred dollars, and no other Edge we buy comes close to that.
Motorola sold this one as XT2301-1 in a single 512GB size. If yours holds 256GB, or has a soft eco leather back instead of glass, you have the standard Motorola Edge (2023) and it has its own page. Where to sell a used Motorola Edge Plus (2023) still has real answers, and we buy them clean, scratched, cracked or broken. The exception is a phone that will not power on, because it cannot be tested and your data cannot be cleared off it. Those we recycle free, or send back free.
LIVE PRICES
The used resale value of a Motorola Edge Plus (2023) starts at $16 and reaches $118 at the top. Motorola sold one size in the US, 512GB, so how you grade the phone is the whole question.
These are live figures rather than estimates. They move when our feed moves and never in between.
| Comparison row | 512GB |
|---|---|
Brand New | $118 |
Flawless | $118 |
Good | $82 |
Average | $67 |
Fair | $16 |
Faulty | $41 |
HOW IT WORKS
Pick your carrier and your grade. Check the frame and the corners before the screen, because on this phone the metal tells the truth and the glass flatters. Once you accept it, your Buyback price is held for 14 days.
A prepaid USPS label comes by email. Take your Google account off, erase the phone, remove the SIM, and box it with something soft around it. Leave the charger, the case and the box at home. They add nothing to your Buyback.
Your Edge Plus (2023) is checked by hand within 48 hours of arriving, frame and corners included. Match your description and payment leaves the same day by gift card, PayPal, bank transfer or check. Every phone is wiped to Department of Defense standards on arrival.

MOTOROLA EDGE PLUS (2023) BUYBACK QUESTIONS
There is one storage size, so condition is everything. A phone with nothing on it anywhere is $118. Light wear you would not spot at arm's length is $82. Wear you can see but not feel with a fingernail is $67. Put your carrier into the quote tool at the top of the page for the exact number.
Not on its own, and this is the single most common overquote on this model. Gorilla Glass Victus is genuinely good at resisting scratches, so an Edge Plus (2023) screen can look untouched after three years in a pocket while the phone has taken plenty of knocks.
Flawless means no marks anywhere on the whole phone. Turn it over, take the case off, and look at the aluminum rails and the four corners under a lamp. That is where a phone this heavy, at 203 grams, shows its history. If the frame is marked, the phone is not Flawless no matter how good the glass looks.
Case off, and use your fingernail rather than your eyes. Run it slowly down one long edge, across the bottom, up the other edge, and over each corner in turn.
Three outcomes. The nail glides and you can only see a shiny patch: light wear, so Good or Average depending on whether you can see it at arm's length. The nail drops into a dent and steps back out: heavier wear you can feel, which is Fair. The nail catches on a chip in the glass at a corner, or the corner is visibly pushed out of true: Faulty. Front and back glass both count for that last one.
No marks at all, on any surface. Not faint scuffs on the rails, not a shine on a corner, not a hairline in the back glass you have to angle it to catch. Take the case and screen protector off and look under a single lamp, because a protector hides exactly the damage we are looking for. Below Flawless: Good is wear invisible at arm's length, Average is wear you can see but not feel, Fair is heavy wear you can feel with no cracks or chips, and Faulty is cracks, chips and anything that has stopped working.
Feel the back first. The Plus is cold glass; the standard model is soft eco leather. The Plus has three rear cameras, the standard one has two. The Plus is 203 grams and the standard is 168, which you notice immediately holding both. For certainty, Settings then About phone: XT2301 is the Plus, XT2305 is the standard. The two have very different prices, so if yours is the standard version quote it on our Motorola Edge (2023) page instead.
Yes, and it happens more than the marketing suggests. Victus resists scratches very well and survives drops better than older glass, but better is not immune, and a crack is a crack whatever the glass is called. Any crack or chip, on the screen, on the back or on a camera lens cover, grades the phone Faulty regardless of how well everything works. Faulty has a price in the table above. Quote it honestly and nothing changes when the phone gets here.
It can. This is an OLED panel running at up to 165Hz, and OLED panels hold a faint permanent shadow of anything that sits still on them for long enough. Burn-in grades Faulty. Show a plain white image at full brightness and tilt the phone under good light. Our Edge (2022) page has the test written out in full, and it applies here unchanged.
No, and there is no percentage for you to chase. We do not apply a battery threshold to Motorola phones and we are not going to send you looking for a battery health screen, because there is no rule behind it. The 5100mAh cell only matters if it has failed outright, and then it falls under the same rule as any other broken part: something on the phone does not work, so the phone is Faulty.
That is the one we have to decline. A phone with no power cannot be tested, and your photos, messages and saved passwords cannot be erased from it, which is the part that matters. We do not buy devices we cannot clear. Free recycling is there instead: our label, our postage, a Department of Defense grade wipe here, then proper disposal. Prefer to keep it? The return trip is free as well.
Not until the balance is cleared. A phone on an installment plan or a lease counts as being under a financial obligation, and we do not purchase devices under financial obligations. This was a flagship, so plans on it ran long and some are still going. Check the payoff figure in your carrier's app, settle it, then come back and quote as normal.
No on both counts, and one of them you can prevent.
The Google account lock is entirely avoidable. Remove your account first, under Settings, Passwords and accounts, and only then factory reset the phone. In the other order the phone locks itself against your own account and it is finished for everybody, including us.
A blacklisted, lost, stolen or carrier blocked IMEI cannot be undone by anyone, and a phone in that state cannot be bought at any grade. Look your IMEI up in Settings, About phone before you go further.
Account off, then wipe, in that order. Settings, Passwords and accounts, remove your Google account. Then Settings, System, Reset options, Erase all data. Your photos, messages and saved passwords are erased and they cannot be recovered. There is a walkthrough on our erase your device page. We wipe every phone to Department of Defense standards when it arrives, but yours should come off before it leaves you.
Keep them all. Nothing is required in the box on a Motorola and none of those items are priced into your Buyback, so posting them gains you nothing and risks losing them. The phone on its own, SIM removed, wrapped in something soft. This one is 203 grams of glass on both sides, so a bit of padding is worth the effort.
Sometimes on paper, and it is worth checking properly. A carrier headline number for a 2023 flagship is usually bill credits over 24 or 36 months, only paid while you stay, and often only on a new line. Ours is cash in one payment the day the phone clears inspection, and it leaves you free. Compare the real terms rather than the headline. If theirs comes out ahead for your situation, take theirs.
Four ways, chosen at checkout. A gift card is emailed and lands about 3 percent above the rest, since the brands add a bonus. PayPal is instant and PayPal takes 2.99 percent of it. A bank transfer takes 2 to 4 days, a mailed check 3 to 5. Payment leaves the same day your phone clears inspection, which is within 48 hours of it arriving. The single exception: a sealed Brand New phone is paid by PayPal only.
Check the frame and the corners first, then pick your carrier and grade. About a minute, and the price is yours for 14 days.
