Yes, and the grade depends on what the water left behind rather than on the swim itself. Start with the honest part: the IP65 and IP68 rating on this phone was measured on a brand new sealed unit in fresh water. It is not a warranty, it does not cover pools, sea water or four years of aging adhesive, and Sony does not claim it does.

Three checks, two minutes. Shine a bright lamp across the camera cluster and look through each window for haze or a droplet trapped behind the glass. Play a loud track and listen for fizz or a speaker that sounds like it is under a blanket. Plug the charger in and wiggle the cable, watching for the charging icon flicking on and off.

Any of those failing is a functionality problem, and every functionality problem on an Android phone means Faulty, no matter how good the glass looks. If everything passes, grade it on wear like any other phone and stop worrying about the swim.

Count the rear cameras. Three lenses in a vertical strip is the 10 II. One lens is the 2019 Xperia 10, two is the 10 Plus. Two more tells: the back of a 10 II is glass and cool to the touch, while the 2019 phones are plastic, and the 10 II screen is an OLED so blacks go properly black rather than dark gray. You can, and both count the same. This phone is glass front and glass back, so a crack or a chip on either face grades it Faulty. That is $4 on a 64GB and $5 on a 128GB. Pick Faulty when you quote, send it as it is, and the number stands. Do not pay for a repair first, because the repair costs more than the grade is worth.

It can, and this is the first Xperia 10 that could. The panel is OLED, so anything left static long enough leaves a shadow behind. Set brightness to maximum, open a plain light gray image full screen, and look for a ghost of the clock, the navigation bar or an app you kept open. If you can see one, that is burn-in and burn-in grades Faulty. The 2019 Xperia 10 and 10 Plus use LCDs and cannot do this.

Hand it to someone at arm's length. If they cannot see any marks on it from there, that is Good. Move it closer under a light and fine scratches may appear, and that is still Good so long as a fingernail glides over everything. The moment your nail catches on something, you are in Average or below, and once you can feel real wear you are in Fair. No cracks anywhere in any of those three.

The 128GB, at every grade, by four or five dollars. Sealed, the gap is $27 against $33. Check yours in Settings, Storage rather than guessing, because both capacities were sold here and they look identical from the outside. A memory card in the tray does not count toward it. No percentage rule applies here, and that catches people out who have sold iPhones before. Android phones we buy have no battery health threshold, no screen to check, and no number that changes your quote. The only way the battery touches the grade is if the phone stops working: shutting down with charge still showing, dying within a few hours of unplugging, or needing the cable in to stay alive. That is a phone that does not work, and that is Faulty.

We will not buy it. A phone that will not start cannot be tested and your data cannot be cleared off it, and we are not willing to quote something we cannot check.
