SELL YOUR ROG PHONE 5S
A ROG Phone 5s pays between $17 and $226. Most people call this a trade-in. We call it a Buyback, and the number is different because somebody here puts hands on the phone rather than reading a description.
The hard part of selling this one is not the condition. It is proving which phone you own.
ASUS built four phones around the same shell in 2021 and gave two of them the same model number, ZS676KS. So the code printed on the back will not settle it, and neither will the shape.
The back panel will. A plain ROG Phone 5s has a lit ROG logo and nothing else. A 5s Pro has a small color screen back there that plays animations. If yours shows pictures on the back, you are on the wrong page.
The memory figure is the second check, and it is the one that never lies. Open Settings, then About phone. 8GB, 12GB or 16GB means the plain 5s and you are in the right place. 18GB means the ROG Phone 5s Pro, which we price separately.
One more, because people mix these up too. The 5s runs a Snapdragon 888+ and the earlier ROG Phone 5 runs a plain 888. Same body, same year, different phone and a different quote.
Where to sell a ROG Phone 5s comes down to who still lists it, and most places do not. We buy it working, worn or broken, at three storage sizes. ASUS sold these unlocked and direct, so choose Unlocked and send nothing but the phone.

HOW IT WORKS
Check the memory figure first so you know you are quoting the right model. Then pick 128GB, 256GB or 512GB, choose Unlocked, and choose your grade. Accept the Buyback price and we hold it for 14 days.
A prepaid USPS label comes by email. Sign out of your Google account, erase the phone, wrap it and tape the box. Leave the charger, the case and any cooler at home, because none of them add to the price.
We check the phone within 48 hours of it arriving. If it matches what you told us, your money goes out that same day by gift card, PayPal, bank transfer or check. Every phone is wiped to Department of Defense standards on arrival.
SPEC SHEET
ASUS reused ZS676KS across the 5s and the 5s Pro, so the model number on the back cannot tell you which one you have. Memory can.
| ASUS's name for it | ROG Phone 5s |

| Released | August 2021 |
| Model number | ZS676KS, shared with the ROG Phone 5s Pro |
| Display | 6.78-inch AMOLED, 2448 by 1080, 144Hz, 360Hz touch sampling |

| Memory and storage we buy | 8GB, 12GB or 16GB of memory, with 128GB, 256GB or 512GB of storage |

ROG PHONE 5S BUYBACK QUESTIONS
Plenty of four year old gaming phones land in Fair, which means heavy wear you can feel with a fingernail but no cracks. A 128GB in Fair pays $51, a 256GB pays $64 and a 512GB pays $70. Clean ones pay a good deal more. Run yours through the quote tool at the top of the page.
Fair is the honest bottom of the cosmetic grades. The phone has been used hard. Run a fingernail over the glass, the frame and the back and it catches on scratches you can feel, not just see.
The line that matters is cracks. Fair allows deep scratches, worn corners and scuffed edges. It does not allow a crack or a chip anywhere, and neither does anything above it. One chip and the phone is Faulty instead.
Two checks, ten seconds. First the back: a lit logo means the plain 5s, a small screen that plays animations means the Pro. Second, Settings then About phone: 18GB of memory means the Pro and anything less means the plain 5s. The model number will not help, because ASUS gave both phones ZS676KS. If yours turns out to be the Pro, it is priced on our sell your ROG Phone 5s Pro page.
The chip is the difference. The 5s carries a Snapdragon 888+ and the ROG Phone 5 from earlier the same year carries a plain 888. Both look identical from the outside. Any phone information app will read the chip back to you, and it is worth two minutes, because the two models quote at different numbers.
Settings, then Storage, shows it. Round it to what ASUS sold rather than what the phone reports free, so a phone showing about 119GB total is a 128GB, one showing about 238GB is a 256GB, and one showing around 477GB is a 512GB. Picking the wrong column is the most common reason a quote gets adjusted later.
Yes, at the Faulty price, which is $17 for a 128GB, $21 for a 256GB and $23 for a 512GB. Any crack or chip anywhere puts a phone in Faulty even when everything still works. We would rather have it than not, and we will not argue about it as long as you told us.
They do. The two squeeze zones on the right hand edge are ultrasonic sensors, not buttons, so nothing about them is visible. One that no longer registers a squeeze is a part of the phone that has stopped working, and that is Faulty. Turn them on in Armoury Crate for any game and try each one before you pick a grade.
Yes. It is AMOLED and burn-in means Faulty. Try this: dark room, brightness right up, a solid white image filling the screen. Then hunt for a shape that should not be there, usually the navigation bar along the bottom or the notification icons across the top. A ghost that clears in a second is harmless afterimage. One that sits still while the picture underneath changes is burn-in, and the phone is still worth posting.
Keep both. Accessories are not priced into a Buyback, so a cooler, a case, a charger or a cable adds exactly nothing to your figure. Nothing is required in the box. Send the phone by itself and keep the rest, or sell the cooler separately, which is usually worth more than posting it to us.
Not on its own, and there is no percentage you have to hit. We do not grade Android phones on battery health and we will not send you looking for a battery screen. A battery that has genuinely failed is caught by the general rule, which is that anything not working means Faulty.
Nothing, in almost every case. No US carrier ever ranged the ROG Phone 5s, and carrier tools only quote what they sold. That is exactly why these sit in drawers. A clean 512GB is $116 here.
Then we cannot buy it. Without power there is no way to test it and no way to clear your data off it, and we will not price a phone we cannot check. Free recycling is on the table instead, with the same Department of Defense wipe, or we send it back to you at no cost.
No to both. A Google account or FRP lock leaves the phone unusable for whoever gets it next, so we cannot take it at any grade until you sign out and erase it. A phone reported lost or stolen, or blocked by a network, we have to decline outright.
Not yet. Anything on an installment plan or a lease counts as being under a financial obligation, and we do not purchase devices under financial obligations. Once the balance is cleared and the phone is yours, quote it as usual.
Four ways, chosen by you at checkout. Gift card, which arrives by email and averages roughly 3 percent above the rest thanks to brand bonuses. PayPal, instant, less PayPal's 2.99 percent fee. Bank transfer, 2 to 4 days. Check, 3 to 5 days in the post. Every one of them leaves the same day your phone clears inspection, and a sealed Brand New phone is paid through PayPal only.
Check the memory figure, pick your storage, pick your grade. It takes about a minute and the price is held for 14 days.
