A Pixel 7a is worth between $16 and $95. Most people call this a trade-in. We call it a Buyback, and the difference is that nothing gets held back as store credit.
Google sold the Pixel 7a one way, with 128GB of storage. There is no bigger one and no smaller one. That makes this page unusually simple and unusually strict, because with storage off the table, the condition you pick is the whole price. Nothing else in the quote moves the number except the carrier lock.
So it is worth spending two minutes on the condition rather than ten seconds. The rule we grade Android phones by is broad: if something on the phone does not work, the phone is Faulty. Not one grade down, all the way down. It catches faults people never think to mention.
Five checks, and none of them take long. Play a video with the volume up, then hold the phone to your ear on a call, because the loudspeaker and the earpiece are two separate speakers and either one counts. Record a voice memo and play it back for the mic. Press the power button and both volume buttons. Plug the cable in and watch for the charging symbol. Last, add a new fingerprint in Settings, Security and privacy, since a reader that will not enroll one is a reader that has failed.
A Pixel 7a that passes all five and has no marks on it is Flawless, which is the top of the table for a phone that has actually been used. Cracks and chips are the other half of the story, and any one of them anywhere puts the phone in the bottom row no matter how well it works.
This is the newest phone on this shelf, launched in May 2023 with updates promised into May 2028, which is why it still carries a real price. That price falls as the clock runs, so today beats next spring. Shipping both ways is free. If the phone will not power on we cannot buy it, since we cannot test it or clear your data, and we will recycle it free instead. Either way, erase it first.

HOW IT WORKS
Storage is already decided for you, so the quote is really two questions: which carrier, and which grade. Run the five checks above before you answer the second one. For the carrier, the honest answer is whoever bills you, unless the phone came from the Google Store, in which case it is unlocked. Accept the price and we hold it for 14 days while the phone is in the mail.
We send a prepaid USPS label to print. Take your Google account off the phone before you erase it, in Settings, Passwords and accounts, then run the reset from Settings, System, Reset options. A phone reset while still signed in arrives locked to you and cannot be bought. Remove the SIM, leave the tray, and keep the cable, the case and the box, since none of them are priced in.
We check the phone by hand within 48 hours of it arriving, including all five of the tests you ran at home. If it is as described, payment goes the same day: a gift card worth about 3 percent more, an instant PayPal payment with PayPal's 2.99 percent fee, a bank transfer in 2 to 4 days or a check in 3 to 5. Every phone is wiped to Department of Defense standards here as well.

PIXEL 7A BUYBACK QUESTIONS
An unmarked one in Flawless condition is $90. With light wear, in Good condition, it is $80. Cracked, it is $16. There is only one storage size, so your grade and your carrier are the whole answer.
Tap the back. The 7a's back panel is composite and sounds and feels like plastic, where the Pixel 7 is glass and colder to the touch. The 7a is also the smaller phone, 6.1 inches against 6.3. If you want certainty, Settings, About phone, Model reads G0DZQ or GWKK3 on a US Pixel 7a.
Because Google only made one. Every Pixel 7a has 128GB, so there is no 256GB version to look for and nobody has a bigger one than you. It does mean condition carries all the weight in your quote, which is why this page spends most of its time on how to grade the phone honestly.
Anything on the phone that has stopped doing its job. A speaker that buzzes, a mic nobody can hear you on, a button that needs pressing twice, a charging port that only works at one angle, a fingerprint reader that will not recognize you, a camera that will not focus. Any one of them grades the phone Faulty. That sounds harsh and it is deliberate, because it is the only version of the rule that is the same for everybody.
Yes. It grades Faulty, and Faulty is a price rather than a refusal: $16 on this model. That applies to a crack anywhere, the screen, the back panel or the glass over the cameras, and it applies even if the phone works perfectly. Describe it accurately and the quote you accept is the amount that gets paid.
No. Android phones have no battery percentage rule here, so nobody is going to measure your battery against 80 percent or anything else. There is not even a health figure to read on a Pixel. A battery so worn that the phone cannot run properly is caught by the functionality rule, and that is the only route battery takes into your grade.
It does, and it grades Faulty. This screen is OLED like every other Pixel, though a 2023 phone has had less time to bake anything in than the older ones. The step by step check lives on the Pixel 6 page, since that is where burn-in is most likely, and the same method works on this one.
Yes. An unlocked Pixel 7a pays the most, at every grade, and one locked to AT&T, T-Mobile or Verizon pays less. Pick the real answer in the quote tool because we test the lock when the phone arrives. Google Store phones are unlocked; carrier store phones usually are not, at least until the carrier releases them.
Not until it is paid off. Anything still on installments or a lease is under a financial obligation, and those are phones we cannot purchase. Settle the balance with the carrier and it becomes an ordinary phone with an ordinary quote.
Then we cannot buy it at all, at any grade. A blacklisted or carrier blocked IMEI cannot be activated by the next owner, and a phone that still wants the old Google account after a reset is locked at Google's end, not ours. Removing your account before you reset is what prevents the second one.
No, and the reason is practical rather than fussy. A phone with no power cannot be tested, and your data cannot be erased from it, so we will not pay for it. Send it in and we will recycle it free with a full wipe, or mail it back to you free, whichever you prefer.
No. Charcoal, Snow, Sea and Coral all pay the same. Color has never changed a Buyback price here, on any phone.
Both are US Pixel 7a codes and both quote identically, so it does not matter which you have. Google prints the code on the box, which is why the practical place to look is Settings, About phone, Model. If yours reads G82U8 it is the same phone sold elsewhere, and we buy it on the same terms.
No. Keep the lot. The Pixel 7a came with a cable and no wall charger, and none of it is priced into what we pay. Send the phone by itself with the SIM card removed and the empty tray still in place.
Two steps, in this order. Remove the Google account: Settings, Passwords and accounts, select the account, remove it. Then erase: Settings, System, Reset options, Erase all data. Our erase page walks through it. When the phone reaches us we wipe it again to Department of Defense standards, so your photos, messages and saved passwords are erased and cannot be brought back.
