SELL YOUR MOTO G 5G (2024)
A Moto G 5G (2024) pays between $2 and $15. Small money, and we would rather say that out loud than let you find out at the end. It is still more than the phone will be worth next year, because these lose a little every month they sit in a drawer.
You will see this called a trade-in elsewhere. Here it is a Buyback, and the practical difference is that nobody has to sell you a new phone for it to happen.
Most of these were sold cheap on a prepaid plan, through Cricket, Metro, Boost, Tracfone or Straight Talk. So two different locks turn up on this model constantly, and people mix them up. One of them costs you money. The other one ends the sale.
The first is a carrier lock. The phone works, it simply will not take another network's SIM. We still buy it. Choose your carrier in the quote tool instead of Unlocked and the number drops, because an unlocked handset is worth more to whoever owns it next. If your carrier will release it before you ship, that is a phone call worth ten minutes.
The second is a Google account lock, and this one is different in kind. Reset a Moto G 5G (2024) while it is still signed in and it comes back up asking for the old account password. Nobody can get past that screen, so the phone is worth nothing to anyone and we cannot buy it at any grade. The order is what saves you: open Settings, remove the Google account, then factory reset. Doing it the other way round is the mistake we see most.
Blacklisted handsets, phones reported lost or stolen, and carrier blocked ones land in the same place as the account lock. We cannot buy those either, and we will tell you rather than quietly dropping your price.
Grading this phone is otherwise short work. Any crack or chip, front or back, makes it Faulty on its own even when everything still works. Anything that has stopped working does the same. Where to sell a used Moto G 5G (2024) mostly comes down to who quotes prepaid phones at all. We do, locked or unlocked, working or broken, and we quote the Moto G (2025) beside it. A phone that will not power on is the one thing we cannot buy, because we cannot test it or erase your photos, messages and saved passwords from it. Send it in and we will recycle it free or mail it back free.
LIVE PRICES
The used resale value of a Moto G 5G (2024) runs from $2 up to $15. An unmarked handset grades Flawless at $15, which is the same money a sealed one gets, and Flawless can be paid any way you like while Brand New is PayPal only.
One storage tier, six grades. Every number below is pulled live from our own price feed rather than typed in by hand, so it moves when the market does.
| Comparison row | 128GB |
|---|---|
Brand New | $15 |
Flawless | $15 |
Good | $10 |
Average | $8 |
Fair | $2 |
Faulty | $5 |
HOW IT WORKS
Set the carrier and the condition. Be honest about the wear, because a person is going to look at the same phone you are looking at, and a matching description is what gets paid the same day.
Once you accept it, the Buyback price is yours for 14 days.
Your prepaid USPS label arrives by email. Wrap the phone, tape the box, and track it door to door at our cost.
Do the Google account removal before you reset, not after, and keep your SIM and memory card. That one order of operations is the difference between a paid order and a phone we have to send home.
We open it, check it by hand, and tell you what we found. Not a silent adjustment, an actual message.
If it matches, the money leaves the same day by gift card, PayPal, bank transfer or check. If you would rather have it back, the return trip is free.

MOTO G 5G (2024) BUYBACK QUESTIONS
An unmarked unlocked handset is Flawless and pays $15. Light wear you cannot see from arm's length is Good at $10. Cracked is Faulty at $5. A carrier locked phone pays less at every one of those grades, so set the carrier in the quote tool before you read the number.
Put another network's SIM in it. If it refuses to connect, it is locked. It matters to the price but not to whether we buy it. Prepaid brands like Cricket, Metro, Boost, Tracfone and Straight Talk usually release a phone once the account has been active long enough, and it is free to ask. Unlocked pays the most here at every grade.
Not while it does that. That is the FRP lock, and it makes the handset unusable for the next owner, so it cannot be bought at any grade. If you still know the account password, sign in, remove the account under Settings, then reset again and it will come up clean. If you do not know it, Google is the only route back and we cannot help from our end.
Yes. Cracked means Faulty, and Faulty pays $5. Size does not come into it and neither does whether the touch still works. Chips in the back panel and the camera glass count the same way.
Flawless means no marks at all. Not faint ones, none. Good means light wear that disappears at arm's length. The test that settles it: hold the phone where you would hold it to read a text. If you can see any mark from there, you are not in Flawless.
Not as a number. There is no percentage rule on this phone and no battery screen you need to open. A battery only touches the grade if it has actually failed, and a failed part means Faulty, the same as a dead speaker would. Age alone does not cost you anything here.
Look at the shape of the offer, not the headline. A carrier pays in credit spread across 24 or 36 months and it stops if the line closes. We pay once, in cash, within a day of checking the phone. On a prepaid handset like this one the carrier deal often needs a new plan attached to it, which is a bigger commitment than the phone is worth.
No. Without power we cannot test it, and we cannot erase what is on it, which is the part that matters. We will not pay for a device we cannot clear. Ship it in anyway and it gets recycled free with a Department of Defense grade wipe first, or mailed back to you free, whichever you prefer.
No. Different model, different price. The Moto G Power line is the one Motorola sells on battery life and it carries its own quote. Settings, About phone, Model & hardware will tell you which you have. An XT2417 is the Moto G 5G (2024).
No. We do not purchase devices under financial obligations, and that covers installment plans and leases even when the monthly amount is tiny. Settle it with the carrier first.
Back up first, because this cannot be undone. Then Settings, Passwords & accounts, remove your Google account. Then Settings, System, Reset options, Erase all data. Your photos, messages and saved passwords are gone at that point and they cannot be recovered. Take the SIM and the microSD card out before it ships. We run our own Department of Defense grade wipe when it arrives regardless.
Inspection is done within 48 hours of arrival and payment goes the same day it clears. Gift card is emailed and works out roughly 3 percent higher because the brands add a bonus. PayPal is instant with PayPal's own 2.99 percent fee. Bank transfer runs 2 to 4 days, a check 3 to 5. Only sealed Brand New handsets are restricted, and those are PayPal.
No charger, no case, no box, and definitely not the memory card. Take that out and keep it. None of it is priced in, and the card usually has your photos on it.
Anywhere that will actually quote a prepaid budget phone and tell you the truth about it. We wipe every device to Department of Defense standards, track the parcel both directions, and say what we found before any money moves. If you do not like the number, the phone comes back free.
Carrier, grade, done. The number holds for 14 days once you accept it.
