IPAD MINI A17 PRO BUYBACK
A used iPad mini (A17 Pro) is worth between $49 and $394. Storage moves it, and so does the wear, which on a tablet this size is usually worse than people expect. A mini gets carried in one hand, pulled out of a bag ten times a day, and dropped from about the height of a coat pocket.
A Buyback covers one object, and on this model it is worth being clear which one. A mini is usually bought as a kit: the tablet, a Pencil Pro, a folio, sometimes a keyboard case that cost more than the storage upgrade did. We are buying the tablet on its own. Nothing else in that kit adds a dollar to the figure on this page, and anything that arrives in the box with the mini cannot be posted home again. Keep the Pencil. It is worth more in your hand, or sold by itself, than it will ever be worth inside this quote.
Second thing. Make sure it is the A17 Pro.
Stand one next to an iPad mini 6 and you will not tell them apart. Same 8.3-inch screen, same 2266 by 1488 panel at 326 pixels per inch, same aluminum back, same Touch ID top button, same USB-C port on the bottom. Apple changed the chip and left almost nothing you can see.
The Apple Pencil gives it away. The iPad mini (A17 Pro) works with the Apple Pencil Pro and the Apple Pencil (USB-C). It does not work with the Apple Pencil (2nd generation) at all. The iPad mini 6 is the exact mirror image: Pencil 2 and Pencil USB-C, no Pencil Pro. Squeeze a Pencil against the screen and get a tool menu, and you have a Pencil Pro on an A17 Pro.
So if you own a Pencil 2 and it will not pair with your mini, nothing is broken. That is Apple's compatibility list doing what it was always going to do, and it tells you which tablet you are holding. Do not put the mini into Faulty over it. Faulty is cracks, chips, a dead button, Touch ID that will not read a finger, and a battery under 80 percent. A stylus Apple never supported on this model is not one of those.
Prices in the table are WiFi. A WiFi + Cellular mini pays more at a matching size and grade, and on this model the gap depends only on the grade, never on the size. It is 27 dollars at Brand New, 25 at Flawless and at Good, 22 at Average, 15 at Fair and 5 at Faulty, and those figures are identical at 128GB, 256GB and 512GB. The highest number on the whole page is a sealed 512GB Cellular, which is not a cell in the table below, so read that one off the quote box.
Where to sell an iPad mini (A17 Pro) comes down to who still stands behind the number after they have the tablet in their hands. The best place to sell one is wherever the quote survives inspection. Ours holds for 14 days and the shipping label costs you nothing.
LIVE PRICES
The used resale value of an iPad mini (A17 Pro) runs from $49 for a cracked 128GB up to $394 for a sealed 512GB, and $421 if that sealed 512GB is a Cellular one.
Storage, condition, and whether there is a modem inside. That is the whole calculation. Every price below is a live WiFi figure, read from our own feed as the page loads.
| Comparison row | 128GB | 256GB | 512GB |
|---|---|---|---|
Brand New | $286 | $329 | $394 |
Flawless | $265 | $305 | $365 |
Good | $245 | $285 | $345 |
Average | $208 | $242 | $293 |
Fair | $147 | $171 | $207 |
Faulty | $49 | $57 | $69 |
HOW IT WORKS
Read the A-number off the back, then pick 128GB, 256GB or 512GB, WiFi or WiFi + Cellular, and the grade that honestly matches the wear. The Buyback price on screen is the one we pay, and it is held for 14 days once you place the order.
A prepaid USPS label lands in your inbox. Sign out of iCloud so Activation Lock is off, erase the tablet, and send the mini on its own. Keep the Apple Pencil Pro, the folio and the charger at home. None of them add anything to the quote and we cannot mail them back.
Inspection happens within 48 hours of your parcel arriving. If the mini is what you described, the money goes out that same day by gift card, PayPal, bank transfer or check. Every tablet gets a DoD-grade wipe on arrival, bought or recycled.
SPEC SHEET
Model numbers here come from Apple's own identify page. The A-number is printed on the back in small type near the bottom edge, and it is also in Settings, General, About under Model Number. If that field shows a code beginning with M or F, tap it once and it flips to the A-number.

GOOD TO KNOW
Storage and condition set the number. A 128GB graded Good pays $245. The same grade at 512GB pays $345. A 256GB with no marks on it at all is Flawless, and that pays $305. The table above carries all eighteen WiFi prices. The quote box at the top of the page gives you yours.
Looking at it will not settle this. The two are the same size, the same shape, the same screen and the same finish of aluminum.
Three things do settle it. The A-number on the back: A2993, A2995 or A2996 is the A17 Pro, while A2567, A2568 or A2569 is the iPad mini 6. The storage: this model starts at 128GB, so a 64GB mini is a mini 6, always. And the Apple Pencil: a Pencil Pro only pairs with the A17 Pro, a Pencil 2 only pairs with the mini 6.
One more, if the tablet is blue. Apple never sold the mini 6 in blue and never sold the A17 Pro in pink.
No. Apple does not support the Apple Pencil (2nd generation) on the iPad mini (A17 Pro), so it was never going to pair. Nothing has failed and the grade does not change. It is actually good news, because it confirms you are on the right page. The pencils that do work on this model are the Apple Pencil Pro and the Apple Pencil (USB-C). Please still leave whichever one you own at home when you mail the tablet.
Flip the mini over and read the tiny print near the bottom. A2993 is the WiFi only iPad mini (A17 Pro). A2995 is the WiFi + Cellular one. A2996 is that same Cellular tablet as sold in mainland China. All three quote right here, and the Cellular pair pay more, so pick the matching option rather than guessing.
Yes. A crack or a chip anywhere moves the mini to Faulty, which is a price rather than a refusal. Faulty on a 128GB pays $49 and on a 512GB it pays $69. The rule reaches further than people expect: the aluminum back and the small glass cover over the rear camera count too, and a chipped corner on an 8.3-inch tablet is the most common one we see. Choose Faulty when you quote and nothing changes when the parcel lands.
Under 80 percent, the grade is Faulty. A Service Battery message does the same thing on its own. At 80 percent or above, battery wear does not touch the grade at all. Settings, then Battery, shows you the health figure on current software.
Then the mini grades Faulty, even with a spotless screen. Touch ID that will not recognize you is one of the faults that sets the grade on its own. Try it a few times with a clean, dry finger before you decide, because a damp thumb fails on a working sensor. If it really is dead, pick Faulty and you still get a genuine offer.
It does, and the gap is set by the grade rather than the size: 27 dollars at Brand New, 25 at Flawless and at Good, 22 at Average, 15 at Fair and 5 at Faulty, the same at all three capacities. The modem holds its value on a clean tablet and almost none of it on a broken one. The top price on this page belongs to a sealed 512GB Cellular at $421, not to any WiFi model. There is no carrier lock on an iPad, so the network it ran on makes no difference to what we pay.
Two things are worth knowing about a Cellular mini. It has an IMEI and that IMEI has to be clean, which you can check in Settings, General, About. And it has no SIM tray, because the A17 Pro generation is eSIM only, so nothing is missing from the edge of your tablet. Remove the eSIM plan in Settings before you mail it.
Not for cash, and the reason is practical rather than fussy. A tablet with no power cannot be tested, and your photos and accounts cannot be cleared off it, which we will not skip. What we will do instead is recycle it at no charge, or mail it straight back to you at no charge. Recycled tablets still get the DoD-grade wipe.
Not while the plan is running. A tablet with monthly payments or a lease attached to it counts as a device under a financial obligation, and we do not purchase those. Pay off whoever holds the agreement, then quote it like any other mini.
No on both, and they are two separate checks rather than one.
Activation Lock has to be off. That applies to every iPad mini (A17 Pro), WiFi or Cellular. Signing out of iCloud and erasing the tablet is what turns it off, and doing it before you mail it is the difference between getting paid and getting the mini posted back to you.
The IMEI has to be clean, and that half only applies to Cellular models, because a WiFi mini has no IMEI to check. Anything reported lost or stolen, or blocked by a carrier, fails there and we have to turn it down.
Keep all of it. The quote is for the tablet by itself, so a Pencil Pro, a folio, a keyboard or a USB-C cable adds nothing to what you are paid, and once they are in the box we have no way of getting them back to you. Take the case off and send the mini bare.
A trade-in from Apple or a carrier comes back as credit against something new. It only exists if you are buying from them, and on a carrier it often arrives as bill credit spread over two or three years. A Buyback is money for the mini on its own, by gift card, PayPal, bank transfer or check, and the price is held for 14 days.
We also check the tablet by hand and tell you what we found, which is why a cracked one still has a price here. Color makes no difference to any of it: Blue, Purple, Starlight and Space Gray all pay the same figure to the dollar. Storage, condition and cellular are the only three things that move it.
Back it up, then open Settings, tap General, then Transfer or Reset iPad, then Erase All Content and Settings. It asks for your Apple Account password, and typing that in is what actually releases Activation Lock. Do it while the tablet is still with you. Our device erasure guides walk through it screen by screen. We run a second DoD-grade wipe when it reaches us.
Four ways, and you choose at checkout. A gift card is emailed and works out around 3 percent above the cash figure, because the brands add a bonus on top. PayPal is instant, minus the 2.99 percent fee PayPal charges. A bank transfer takes 2 to 4 days and a mailed check takes 3 to 5. Whichever you pick, it leaves the same day your mini clears inspection, and inspection happens within 48 hours of arrival. One exception: a sealed Brand New tablet is paid through PayPal only.
Pick the storage, WiFi or Cellular, and the grade. It takes about a minute, and your Buyback price holds for 14 days.
