SELL YOUR IPAD 7
An iPad 7 is worth between $5 and $47, and the table below fills in every step between the two. Those are small numbers and we would rather say so than talk around them. This is a 2019 tablet being valued in 2026. It is still money you do not currently have, the quote takes about a minute, and the shipping costs you nothing.
You will see this called a trade-in nearly everywhere. Ours is a Buyback, and on a tablet this old the difference worth explaining is what the number is measuring. It is not a verdict on your iPad 7 and it has nothing to do with the $329 it cost in 2019. It is what somebody will pay for a used one this month, less what it costs us to collect it, test it and wipe it. That is why the figure lands where it does, and it is also why telling us how carefully you looked after it will not move it. The glass, the rim and the storage move it.
Stand the iPad 7 up and look along its left edge. Three small metal dots in a row is the Smart Connector. That was new here. The iPad 7 is the first cheap iPad you could snap a keyboard onto, so a lot of them stopped being couch tablets and started being small laptops.
That history shows up on the aluminum. A keyboard case grips the iPad by its rim and gets opened and shut a few thousand times, so look hard at the edges and the corners before you pick a grade. A chip in the rim is still a chip, and any chip anywhere puts the tablet in Faulty. While it is in your hands, lay it face down on a flat table and press each corner. If it rocks, the frame is bent, and a bent frame is Faulty too.
Those three dots are also the fastest way to tell an iPad 7 from an iPad 6. The iPad 6 has no Smart Connector at all, and its screen is 9.7 inches against the 10.2 inches here. If your old 9.7-inch case will not close over it, you are holding the 7.
WiFi + Cellular iPad 7s pay more than WiFi ones on this page. On the 128GB the gap is real money at these prices, running $6 to $8 through the upper grades. On the 32GB it is nearer $2. Look for a SIM tray in the edge before you choose, because the highest number on the page belongs to a Cellular tablet rather than a WiFi one.
Where to sell an iPad 7 mostly comes down to who still buys one, and we do, working or broken. The single thing we cannot take is one that will not power on, because a dead tablet cannot be tested and your data cannot be cleared off it. Send that one in anyway and we recycle it free, wiped to DoD standards, or mail it back to you free. Either way you are not paying postage.
LIVE PRICES
The used resale value of an iPad 7 runs from $5 for a cracked 32GB WiFi model up to $47 for a sealed 128GB. Switch to WiFi + Cellular and the top of that range becomes $55.
Storage, connectivity and wear are the three things that move the number. Every figure below is pulled live from our own price feed.
| Comparison row | 32GB | 128GB |
|---|---|---|
Brand New | $37 | $47 |
Flawless | $35 | $45 |
Good | $25 | $35 |
Average | $21 | $30 |
Fair | $15 | $21 |
Faulty | $5 | $7 |
HOW IT WORKS
Pick 32GB or 128GB, WiFi or WiFi + Cellular, and the grade that matches the wear. Check the aluminum rim for chips before you decide, because one chip moves the whole tablet into Faulty. The iPad 7 Buyback price you accept is locked for 14 days.
A prepaid USPS label arrives by email. Sign out of iCloud so Activation Lock is off, erase the iPad, then box it. Keep the keyboard, the Apple Pencil and the case. They add nothing to your quote and they are easy to lose in the mail.
We inspect within 48 hours of the iPad reaching us. If it matches what you described, payment goes out that same day by gift card, PayPal, bank transfer or check. Every tablet gets a DoD-grade wipe, whether we buy it or recycle it.

IPAD 7 BUYBACK QUESTIONS
Storage, connectivity and wear decide it. A 128GB WiFi iPad 7 in Good condition is $35. The same tablet at Fair is $21. A 32GB with a cracked screen still pays $5. Put your exact one through the quote tool at the top of this page for the real figure.
Look at the long left edge. Three small metal dots means iPad 7. A bare edge means iPad 6. The screens differ too, 10.2 inches on the 7 against 9.7 on the 6, which is why a 9.7-inch case will not fit the newer one. If it turns out you have the older tablet, our sell your iPad 6 page carries its own prices.
Turn the iPad over and read the small print near the bottom. A2197 is the WiFi only iPad 7. A2198 and A2200 are both the WiFi + Cellular version. Apple lists those two together without saying which region each belongs to, so do not read anything into having one rather than the other. All three are an iPad 7 and all three quote on this page.
Yes. A crack or a chip anywhere, glass, back or camera lens cover, drops the iPad into Faulty. Faulty is a row in the table, not a door closing. A 32GB in that state pays $5 and a 128GB pays $7. Chipped aluminum counts, which is worth checking on this model because keyboard cases nick the rim. Choose Faulty when you quote and nothing changes when it reaches us.
That is Faulty. The Home button has to click and respond, and Touch ID has to read your fingerprint. Either one failing prices the iPad as Faulty even with spotless glass. Test it now rather than at inspection: press the button, then open the tablet with your finger. It takes ten seconds.
Under 80 percent, the grade is Faulty. A service battery warning does the same thing. An iPad 7 will not show you a health percentage anywhere, because Apple never added that screen to iPads this old and this one cannot run the software that has it. Go by what the tablet does instead. A battery that will not get through an afternoon, that shuts off at 20 or 30 percent, or that only stays awake on the charger is under 80 percent. Choose Faulty at the quote step and the number you see is the number you are paid.
It raises it. A Cellular iPad 7 pays above the WiFi one at every grade except Faulty on the 32GB, where the two are level. The gap is widest on the 128GB, about $6 to $8 through the upper grades, which is why the top figure on this page is $55 for a Cellular tablet rather than a WiFi one. Carrier makes no difference, because iPads are not carrier locked. One extra check does apply to a Cellular iPad 7 though: the IMEI has to be clean. Find it in Settings, General, About.
No, and the reason is practical rather than fussy. With no power we cannot test the tablet, and more to the point we cannot clear your data off it, so putting a price on it would be guessing. What we will do is take it off your hands for free. Ship it on our label and we recycle it properly with a DoD-grade wipe, or send it straight back to you. Both cost you nothing.
Not while money is still owed on it. An iPad running on an installment plan or a lease is under a financial obligation, and we do not purchase devices under financial obligations. Settle the balance so the tablet is properly yours and it quotes like any other iPad 7.
No, and these are two separate checks that people tend to blur together.
Activation Lock has to be off. That applies to every iPad 7, WiFi or Cellular. Signing out of iCloud and erasing the tablet is what turns it off, and doing it before you mail it is the difference between a payment and a return trip.
The IMEI has to be clean, and that one only applies to WiFi + Cellular models, because a WiFi iPad 7 has no IMEI at all. Anything reported lost or stolen, or blocked by a carrier, fails there and we have to decline it.
Settings, then General, then Transfer or Reset iPad, then Erase All Content and Settings. It asks for your Apple Account password, and entering that is the step that actually switches Activation Lock off. Do it while the iPad is still with you. There is a longer walkthrough on our erase your device page. We run our own DoD-grade wipe when it arrives, but yours needs to come off first.
Keep all of it. Accessories are not priced into the quote, so a keyboard, an Apple Pencil (1st generation) or a folio adds nothing to your payment and only gives the mail something else to lose. Worth knowing on this model in particular: a used Smart Keyboard for an iPad 7 often sells for more on its own than the Faulty iPad does. Sell it separately. The charging cable can stay home too.
No. Silver, Space Gray and Gold quote at identical numbers. Color has never moved the price on this model, so pick your storage and your grade and ignore the finish.
Four options, chosen by you. A gift card is emailed and comes out roughly 3 percent ahead of the others because the brands add a bonus. PayPal lands instantly, minus the 2.99 percent fee PayPal charges. Bank transfer takes 2 to 4 days, a mailed check 3 to 5. All four go out the same day your iPad clears inspection. One catch: a Brand New sealed iPad is paid by PayPal only.
Honestly, it depends what you were hoping for. The numbers on this page start at $5 and stop at $55. That is not going to fund anything. What it does beat is a drawer, and the postage is free, so the choice is really between a small amount of money and none. If yours is too far gone to carry a price at all, recycling is free and we wipe it either way.
Choose your storage, your connectivity and your grade. About a minute, and the price holds for 14 days.
