An iPad 10 is worth between $27 and $229 today, and every step between the two is printed in the table below. Storage is half of the spread and the state of the glass is most of the rest. This is a 2022 tablet and those are honest numbers for one, not a headline figure almost nobody qualifies for.
A tablet does not leave the house the way a phone does. Nothing forces the decision. No contract turns over, nobody hands you a box at a counter, so a working iPad 10 goes in a drawer and stays there. That drawer is what we are really competing with. The iPad keeps working and keeps getting cheaper at the same time, month after month, and nothing arrives in the mail to tell you so. A Buyback is where that stops. Hold it sideways, the way you would in a keyboard case. The front camera sits dead center along the top long edge. Every other iPad Apple was selling that year kept that camera on the short edge, where it ends up off to one side in a video call. The iPad 10 is the only one that moved it, and it is the quickest way to know exactly what you are holding.
It is also worth a hard look before you pick a grade. That camera sits under the same sheet of glass as the screen, in the bezel along the long edge, and a chip or a hairline crack anywhere on that glass grades the iPad Faulty. People inspect the middle of the screen and the four corners. Almost nobody inspects the strip of glass around the camera, because on the iPad they had before this one there was nothing there to inspect.
The other thing that catches iPad 10 owners is the Pencil. It charges over USB-C, so it looks like it should take the Apple Pencil that snaps onto the side magnetically. It does not, and it never has. The iPad 10 works with the Apple Pencil (USB-C), or with the original first generation Pencil, and that first one needs a small USB-C adapter to pair and charge. None of it changes your quote, because we cannot pay for accessories, but it is worth knowing before you buy a Pencil for a tablet you are about to sell.
The iPad 11 that replaced it is the same size in the same four colors, so check the back rather than the photo. A2696 and A2757 are iPad 10s. If yours reads A3354 or A3355, you have the iPad 11 and its prices are higher.

A prepaid USPS label lands in your inbox. Sign out of your Apple account so Activation Lock is off, erase the iPad, and box it by itself. The Pencil stays with you, so does the adapter, the keyboard, the case and the cable. None of them are paid for and small parts are exactly what goes missing in the mail.
We inspect your iPad within 48 hours of it arriving. Match the description and your money goes out that same day, by gift card, PayPal, bank transfer or check. Bought or recycled, every tablet gets a DoD grade wipe.

IPAD 10 BUYBACK QUESTIONS
It depends on storage, connectivity and wear. A 256GB WiFi model in Good condition is $175. The same tablet in Fair is $105. A 64GB with a cracked screen still pays $27. Quote your exact one at the top of this page.
Same size, same four colors, same top button, so photos are no help. Storage settles most of them: 64GB is only ever an iPad 10, 512GB is only ever an iPad 11. On cellular models, look at the edge for a SIM tray, because the iPad 10 has one and the iPad 11 has none. Otherwise read the back. A2696, A2757, A2777 and A3162 are iPad 10s. A3354, A3355 and A3356 are the newer iPad 11.
Turn the iPad over and read the fine print near the bottom edge. A2696 is the WiFi only iPad 10. A2757 is the WiFi + Cellular one. A2777 and A3162 are that same cellular tablet as sold in mainland China. All four are an iPad 10 and all four are quoted on this page.
Yes, at the Faulty price, which is a payment and not a brush off. A crack or a chip anywhere counts, and on this model that includes the thin band of glass around the front camera on the long edge, which is the part people miss. A 64GB in that state pays $27 and a 256GB pays $35. Choose Faulty when you quote and nothing changes when it gets here.
Two of them, and neither is the one most people expect. The Apple Pencil (USB-C) works. So does the original Apple Pencil (1st generation), but only with the USB-C to Apple Pencil Adapter, a short cable Apple sells separately that you need to pair it and to charge it.
The Apple Pencil that clips magnetically to the side of an iPad Air or iPad Pro and charges there does not work with an iPad 10, and neither does the Apple Pencil Pro. The USB-C port on the side led a lot of owners to assume otherwise. None of this affects your quote, since we do not pay for accessories, but it is the single most common iPad 10 surprise.
Battery health below 80 percent grades the iPad Faulty, and so does a service battery warning. On a tablet this age that is common enough to be worth checking rather than hoping. The Faulty price is still real money and it is on the table above.
Faulty either way. Touch ID lives inside the top button on this model, so one small part carries two of our rules: a button that has stopped clicking is Faulty, and a fingerprint reader that no longer reads your finger is Faulty. Press the button, open the iPad with your thumb, and you have checked both.
It does, at every grade and both storage sizes, but the size of the bump is all over the place on this model. A sealed 64GB cellular pays about $36 more than the WiFi version, while a Faulty 256GB pays only about $3 more. The table above is WiFi, so switch the quote over if yours has a SIM tray on the edge. iPads are not carrier locked, so the network makes no difference. Cellular models do carry one extra requirement: the IMEI has to be clean, and you will find that number in Settings, then General, then About.
We cannot buy a dead one. Nothing about it can be verified, and none of your information can be cleared off it, which is not something we are willing to guess at. Free recycling is on the table instead, with the same DoD grade wipe everything else gets, and free return if you would rather hang on to it.
No. If there is still a balance running on it, whether that is a lease or a monthly installment plan, it counts as being under a financial obligation and we cannot take it. Clear the balance and it quotes like any other iPad 10.
No on both, and they are two different checks worth understanding separately.
First, Activation Lock. It has to be off on every iPad 10 we buy, WiFi or cellular. Sign out of your Apple account and erase the tablet and it is off. Skip that and the iPad comes straight back to you unsold.
Second, the IMEI, which only exists on WiFi + Cellular models. A WiFi iPad 10 does not have one. If a cellular model has been reported lost or stolen, or blocked by a carrier, the IMEI is not clean and we have to decline it.
Open Settings, tap General, then Transfer or Reset iPad, then Erase All Content and Settings. Your Apple account password is what actually releases Activation Lock, so have it ready. Do this before it leaves you. Our erase your device page walks through it with screenshots. We wipe it again to DoD standards when it arrives, but that does not replace the first step.
Keep every bit of it. Accessories are not priced into the offer, so nothing you add to the box is paid for, and the little USB-C to Apple Pencil Adapter is exactly the sort of thing that vanishes in transit. Send the iPad alone. The charging cable can stay home too.
No. Silver, Blue, Pink and Yellow all quote the same. Apple gave this generation the brightest colors the basic iPad has had, and the pink and yellow ones are the reason people ask, but color has never moved the number here.
You choose one of four at checkout. Gift card is emailed and averages roughly 3 percent more, because the brands add a bonus. PayPal is instant, minus the 2.99 percent fee PayPal charges. Bank transfer takes 2 to 4 days, a mailed check 3 to 5. All of them leave the same day your iPad passes inspection. The one rule to know is that a sealed Brand New tablet is paid by PayPal only.
