This is the question we get most on this model, because the two are the same size with the same screens: 3.4 inches on the cover, 6.7 inches inside. You cannot tell them apart by holding them.

Four ways to settle it. Model number, in Settings, About phone: SM-F761U is the FE, SM-F741U is the Flip 6. Storage: 128GB only ever came on an FE. Memory: the FE has 8GB, the Flip 6 has 12GB. Color: the FE was sold in black and white, so a yellow, blue, mint or peach phone is a Flip 6.

Check before you quote. The two models are priced separately and the difference gets caught at inspection, which delays your money for no reason.

Look at the front of the closed phone. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 has a 4.1 inch cover screen that runs all the way to the edges of the lid and wraps around the cameras. The FE has a 3.4 inch one sitting inside a visible black border. Open them and the Flip 7 is 6.9 inches, the FE 6.7. Storage separates them too: 512GB is a Flip 7, 128GB is an FE. No. A folding screen creases where it folds, and every Galaxy Z Flip in existence has one. Samsung's own answer is that it is a normal characteristic of a device designed with a flexible display, and that it does not affect quality, lifespan or performance. Ours matches. Do not drop yourself to Faulty over a line that came with the phone.

Open it slowly and stop at roughly ninety degrees. It should sit there on its own. A hinge that lets the phone fall shut, or pushes it open, has worn out, and a worn hinge is a functionality issue, which on a Samsung means Faulty.

Then lay it open on a flat table. The two halves should be level with each other, no step, no rocking. Fold it shut and look down the long edge for a gap.

What is not a fault: a small click or a bit of drag as it moves. Samsung says that is the metal parts of the hinge working against each other and is normal. A Flip gets opened far more often than a Fold does, simply because you open it to check the time, so the hinge is the part worth two minutes of your attention.

Yes. Cracked or chipped means Faulty, and on a foldable that covers all of it: the inner folding screen, the cover screen, the back and the camera lens covers. A cracked inner screen is a cracked screen. That is a price, not a rejection. Cracked at 128GB pays $58 and at 256GB $64. Pick Faulty at the quote step and the number holds.

Yes. Burn-in is Faulty on a Samsung, and a Flip has two OLED panels that both need checking. Open a plain white image full screen, first on the 3.4 inch cover display and then on the inner one, and look at each in a dim room from a slight angle. A ghosted clock, a faint notification bar, an outline of anything that normally sits in that spot, all count. Either panel showing it puts the phone in Faulty.

There is not. No 80 percent rule, no percentage to hunt for, no battery health screen. That rule belongs to a different brand and it does not apply here. Battery only enters the grade if it has genuinely stopped working, and at that point it is caught by the same principle as everything else: something does not work, so the phone is Faulty.

Average is light wear you can see but cannot feel. Run a fingernail slowly across the cover screen, the frame and the back. If it glides over the marks, that is Average. If it catches on anything, you are into Fair. Good is a step above Average: wear so light it does not show at arm's length. Flawless is no marks at all. Any crack, chip or broken function skips all of that and lands on Faulty.
