SELL YOUR GALAXY TAB S8 PLUS
A Galaxy Tab S8 Plus pays between $26 and $216. Most people call it a trade-in. We call it a Buyback, and the reason to care about the word is that our number comes from a person looking at your tablet rather than a form guessing at it.
First, the pen. Every Tab S8 Plus came with an S Pen in the box, so it is part of the tablet to us. One that arrives on its own grades Faulty, straight to the bottom row. Check the magnetic strip on the back now rather than at the post office.
Second, where your tablet sits on the wear ladder, which is what moves most of these quotes. A 12.4 inch slab of aluminum lives on desks and in bags, and it collects marks in a particular order, so grade it with your hands rather than your feelings.
Run a fingernail slowly across the back and around the edges, then do the same on the screen. Nothing to see at arm's length is Good. Marks you can see up close but cannot feel is Average. If your nail drops into a scratch, that is Fair, even if the tablet looks fine on the desk. A crack or a chip anywhere is Faulty regardless of the rest. Most people grade themselves one step too kindly, and the fingernail is what stops that.
Age is the other half of it, and no amount of polishing fixes that. Put this tablet next to a Galaxy Tab S7 Plus in the same shape and the two years between them show up as money, which is the argument for quoting it now rather than next spring. This is the AMOLED half of the Tab S8 family, so burn-in is worth checking here even though it cannot happen on the smaller Tab S8. Adding cellular pays more on the 128GB and the 256GB. Where to sell a Galaxy Tab S8 Plus, used or broken, comes down to who prices a big tablet properly, and cracked screens are still worth posting. A tablet that will not power on we cannot buy, but we recycle it free.

Pick 128GB, 256GB or 512GB, then WiFi or WiFi + Cellular, then run the fingernail across the back before you choose a grade. Have the S Pen in your other hand while you do it. The Buyback price you accept is locked for 14 days.
We email a prepaid USPS label and the parcel is tracked the whole way. Sign out of your Samsung and Google accounts, factory reset, and send the tablet with the S Pen. Keyboards, book covers and cases are not paid for, so they stay with you.
A person checks it within 48 hours of arrival and tells you what they found. Matching tablets are paid the same day by gift card, PayPal, bank transfer or check, and every device gets a Department of Defense grade wipe whether we buy it or recycle it.

GALAXY TAB S8 PLUS BUYBACK QUESTIONS
Capacity, connectivity and wear, in that order of impact. A 256GB WiFi tablet in Good is $161. Drop it to Average and it is $140. Cracked, it is $32. Your exact combination takes about a minute in the quote tool at the top of the page.
It is a touch test, not a judgment call, which is deliberate. Good means light wear you cannot pick out at arm's length. Average means marks you can see close up but cannot feel. Fair means wear your fingernail catches on, and heavy wear is still Fair as long as nothing is cracked or chipped.
Do it properly: nail across the aluminum back, around all four edges, then over the glass. The edges are where a 12.4 inch tablet takes its knocks, because it gets slid in and out of bags corner first. If your nail drops into a groove, that is Fair, and choosing Fair honestly is what stops the number changing after inspection.
Age moves the number as well, and you cannot polish that out. A 256GB Galaxy Tab S7 Plus in this same condition pays $116 today, while a 256GB Tab S8 Plus pays $161. Two years, one grade, that much difference. It is the clearest argument we have for selling a tablet you have stopped using.
Screen size and panel. The Plus is 12.4 inches with an AMOLED display and its fingerprint reader is under the glass. The Tab S8 is 11 inches with an LCD, and its reader is in the side power button, so if you unlock by pressing the button rather than touching the screen, you have the smaller one. Model numbers are SM-X800 and X806 here, SM-X700 and X706 there.
They are almost the same object: 12.4 inches, 5.7mm thick, 567g against 575g. Color is the quick tell, because the S8 generation came in Graphite, Silver and Pink Gold while the Tab S7 Plus came in Mystic Black, Mystic Bronze, Mystic Silver and Phantom Navy. Pink Gold only exists on the newer one. Settle it in Settings, About tablet: SM-X800 or X806 is the Tab S8 Plus, SM-T970, T975 or T976B is the older one.
Yes, this panel can burn in, and burn-in is Faulty, so check before you quote rather than after.
Put a plain mid-gray image on the screen, brightness up, lights down. Burn-in shows as a shape that stays in the same place while everything behind it changes. On this model the usual suspects are the strip of app icons along the bottom of the home screen and, if you ever ran Samsung DeX on it, the desktop taskbar that sits there for hours at a time. A ghost that fades away within a couple of seconds is not burn-in and costs you nothing.
Yes, every time. It shipped in the box, so a Tab S8 Plus without one is not the thing we quoted, and it grades Faulty. Any genuine Tab S8 Plus pen will do, bought separately or not, so long as it charges on the back strip and writes cleanly. If the pen is lost, quote the tablet as Faulty honestly rather than hoping we will not notice, because we check every one.
Yes. Cracks and chips grade Faulty whether or not the tablet still works perfectly, and Faulty is still a payment: $26 for a 128GB, $32 for a 256GB, $28 for a 512GB. Choose it at the quote step and nothing changes when the tablet gets here.
It grades Faulty. That single rule covers everything on a Samsung tablet: a speaker that crackles, a charging port that has gone loose, a fingerprint reader that will not read, a camera stuck on black, a strip of screen that ignores your finger. It does not matter how small the fault feels or how good the tablet looks. Test the lot in five minutes and quote what you find.
Neither. No Samsung we buy carries a battery percentage rule, there is no battery health figure to read off the screen, and we will not send you looking for one. Battery only matters here when it has actually failed, at which point it is a broken part and grades Faulty like anything else that stopped working.
No carrier lock exists on a tablet, so the network it used makes no difference. Both accounts do have to be off it though: Samsung and Google, signed out before you post. A 5G Tab S8 Plus also needs a clean IMEI, while a WiFi one has no IMEI to check. Google locked, Samsung account locked, Knox tripped, blacklisted or reported stolen all mean we cannot buy it at any grade, and we return those free.
Sign out first, then wipe. Settings, Accounts and backup, Manage accounts, remove both your Google and Samsung accounts. Then Settings, General management, Reset, Factory data reset. Pull the memory card and keep it, since a reset leaves a card untouched. No, keep them. Accessories are not priced into a Buyback, so a Book Cover Keyboard, a folio or a case earns you nothing here and a keyboard is worth real money if you sell it yourself. Just the tablet and the S Pen in the box, please.
On the 128GB and the 256GB, yes, cellular sits above WiFi at every grade, so say which one you have when you quote. The 512GB cellular is the exception right now: our feed has no working price for it, which is a fault on our side rather than a decision, and we have flagged it. If that is what you have, contact us and we will price it by hand instead of letting the tool quote you nothing.
Not for cash. A dead tablet cannot be tested and your data cannot be cleared from it, so we will not put a figure on it. We will recycle it for free, on a free label, with the same Department of Defense wipe once it is here, and we will post it back for nothing if you would rather keep it.
Worth checking, and easy to compare once you strip out the fine print. Carrier deals arrive as monthly bill credits, usually locked to a new device or a new line, so switching before the credits finish costs you the rest of them. A 512GB Tab S8 Plus in Good condition is $140 here, paid once, in money you can spend anywhere. If the carrier number is genuinely bigger in cash, take it.
