SELL YOUR GALAXY TAB S8
A Galaxy Tab S8 pays between $18 and $135. Most people call it a trade-in. We call it a Buyback, and the reason the number is different is that a person opens your parcel, checks the tablet by hand and tells you what they found.
The S Pen shipped in the box with every Tab S8, so we buy the two together. A Tab S8 that arrives without its pen grades Faulty. Not a notch down, the bottom row, and there is nothing we can do about it once the box is open. Find the pen before you start.
Then turn the tablet over. Near the bottom edge of the back there is a small run of metal contacts, the pogo pins. That is where the Book Cover Keyboard clips on, and it is the one part of a Tab S8 that people damage without ever noticing.
There is no Bluetooth involved in a keyboard cover, so those pins are the only thing making it work. If you own the keyboard, click the tablet on and type a letter. Nothing appears and the connection is dead, which is a part that has stopped working, which is Faulty. No keyboard? Tilt the back under a lamp and look at the contacts instead. Clean metal is fine. A pin pushed flat, or green and white crust around one, is not. Pocket lint wipes off with a dry cloth and costs you nothing.
Keep the keyboard when you post the tablet, by the way. Covers and cases are not priced into a Buyback, so it earns you nothing here and it is worth more sitting on your desk.
The Tab S8 screen is an LCD, so burn-in cannot happen to it. The Tab S8 Plus and Tab S8 Ultra are AMOLED and can, which is the split people miss inside one generation. Where to sell a Galaxy Tab S8, used, broken or cracked, is really a question of who prices one honestly, and we do. One thing we will not do is buy a tablet that will not power on, though we will recycle it for free.

HOW IT WORKS
Choose 128GB or 256GB and the grade that matches the wear. Check the pogo pins and find the S Pen before you finish, since both of those can move you to the bottom row. The Buyback price you accept is held for 14 days.
A prepaid USPS label comes by email. Sign out of your Samsung account and your Google account, then factory reset. Send the tablet and the S Pen only. The keyboard cover, the case and the charger are not paid for, and every extra thing in a box is one more thing to go missing.
We inspect within 48 hours of arrival and tell you what we found. If the tablet matches your description, payment goes out the same day by gift card, PayPal, bank transfer or check. Bought or recycled, every tablet gets a Department of Defense grade wipe.

GALAXY TAB S8 BUYBACK QUESTIONS
Capacity and condition, mostly. A 256GB in Average, meaning light wear you cannot feel with a fingernail, is $90. Tidy that up to Good and it is $105. A cracked 128GB is $18. The quote tool at the top of the page will price your exact one.
They can, and almost nobody checks them. Those metal contacts are how a Book Cover Keyboard talks to the tablet, and there is no wireless backup, so if the pins are damaged the keyboard simply does nothing.
Test it in ten seconds if you own the cover: clip the tablet on and type a letter. If characters appear, the connector is healthy. If you do not have the cover, hold the back under a lamp and look at the contacts. Bright metal is fine, and lint wipes away with a dry cloth. A flattened pin or corrosion around one is a part that has stopped working, and that means Faulty.
These two are almost impossible to tell apart by eye, because they are the same size, the same 6.3mm thickness and within 5g of each other, both with an 11 inch LCD. Two things separate them. Look at the front camera area: the Tab S8 has two cameras up there, the Tab S7 has one. Then confirm in Settings, About tablet. SM-X700 or SM-X706 is a Tab S8. SM-T870, T875 or T876B is a Tab S7, and it pays less, so the check is worth making.
Size and screen. The Tab S8 is 11 inches with an LCD panel. The Tab S8 Plus is 12.4 inches with an AMOLED one, which is why burn-in matters on that page and not on this one. The fingerprint reader gives it away too: on the Tab S8 it is in the side button, on the Plus it is under the glass. Model numbers are SM-X700 and X706 for this one, SM-X800 and X806 for the Plus.
Yes. Samsung included it with every Tab S8, so we price the tablet as a tablet plus a pen, and one that turns up alone grades Faulty. It is the most expensive five seconds on this page. A replacement Tab S8 pen is perfectly acceptable, as long as it charges on the strip on the back and writes without skipping.
Yes, and please do rather than binning it. Any crack or chip means Faulty even when everything still works, and Faulty is a price: $18 for a 128GB and $21 for a 256GB. Tell us at the quote step and that is exactly what you are paid.
Then it is Faulty. On Samsung tablets that is one rule covering everything, rather than a checklist you can read your way around. Charging port, speakers, the side fingerprint reader, either camera, a button, WiFi, a dead patch on the touchscreen. Any single failure moves the whole tablet to the bottom row. Five minutes of testing before you quote is what keeps the promised figure and the paid figure the same.
No. This model has an LCD screen and burn-in is something that happens to AMOLED panels, so there is nothing on this page telling you to hunt for ghost icons. If you have read our Tab S8 Plus or Tab S8 Ultra page and are wondering why the advice differs, that is why. The one screen check worth doing on an LCD is for a stuck or dead pixel on a plain white background.
No. That is an Apple rule and it does not apply here. Samsung gives no battery health percentage, we do not ask for one, and there is no screen worth going to look at. A battery that has genuinely failed is caught as a part that does not work, which lands in Faulty like any other fault.
Tablets have no carrier lock, so the network makes no difference to what we pay. Two sign-outs are required on every unit: your Samsung account and your Google account. If either is still on the tablet, it arrives locked and we cannot test it. On a 5G Tab S8 the IMEI also has to be clean, and a WiFi model has no IMEI at all. If a tablet turns up Google locked, Samsung account locked, Knox tripped, blacklisted or reported stolen, we cannot buy it at any grade, and it goes back to you free.
Order matters. Sign out first: Settings, Accounts and backup, Manage accounts, remove the Google account and the Samsung account. Then Settings, General management, Reset, Factory data reset. Take the memory card out and keep it, because a reset does not touch a card. There is a step by step on the erase your device page. We also run a Department of Defense grade wipe on arrival, so nothing of yours survives here either way.
No. Keyboards, book covers, cases and chargers are not priced into a Buyback on any tablet, so sending one adds nothing to your payout and risks losing something you paid a lot for. Keep it, sell it separately, or keep using it. The S Pen is the only accessory that has to travel with the tablet.
Because right now they are. Our feed currently carries every WiFi + Cellular Tab S8 at zero, which is a fault at our end rather than a decision to stop buying 5G tablets. We have flagged it. Until it is fixed, treat the WiFi figures on this page as the reliable ones, do not take an online cellular quote as real, and get in touch if you have a 5G Tab S8 to sell so we can price it properly by hand.
Not as a purchase. A tablet that will not power up cannot be tested and your data cannot be cleared off it, and putting a price on something we cannot open would not be honest. Free recycling covers it instead: same free label, same Department of Defense wipe, properly disposed of afterwards. Ask for it back and that costs nothing either.
Sometimes it looks that way until you read the terms. Carriers pay in bill credits spread over two or three years and usually tie them to a new device or a new line, so the value disappears if you switch. We pay cash after inspection with no strings.
