A Galaxy S25 is worth between $60 and $378 today, and every step in between is printed in the table below. Where yours lands comes down to three things: whether it is the 128GB or the 256GB, whether it is unlocked or tied to a carrier, and what the glass and the cameras have been through. One word on what to call this. A carrier calls it a trade-in. The question worth asking about either version is who is at the other end of it. Theirs is a system: nobody in it will ever hold your Galaxy S25, the number was settled in advance by a table, and the phone gets checked against that table later, somewhere else, by someone you will never hear from. A camera that does not work is a functionality issue, and on a Galaxy that means Faulty.
Test two is ten seconds. Run a fingernail over each of the three glass rings on the back. Coating marks and fine scratches glide. A chip catches, and it catches every time. A chipped lens cover is broken glass, and any crack or chip is Faulty whether or not the camera behind it still takes a photo. That is the one that surprises people, because the phone works perfectly.
So a Galaxy S25 can be Faulty for two completely different reasons on the same three parts. Find the Good row in the table below, then the Faulty row underneath it at the same capacity, and read the drop between them. Worth forty seconds before you choose a grade.

Not sure about the carrier? Search your settings for SIM lock. Your Buyback price is held for 14 days from the moment you accept it.
A prepaid USPS label comes by email. Take your Google account off the phone, take your Samsung account off, switch off Find My Mobile, then factory reset. Pop your SIM out and leave the tray in. Send the phone on its own. Chargers, cables and cases add nothing to the price and go missing in the post.

An unlocked 256GB in Good condition is worth $340. The same phone in Fair condition is $204. A 128GB with a cracked screen is $60. Capacity, wear and the carrier lock are the three things that move it. The quote tool at the top of this page prices your exact phone.
Probably, and it is worth checking properly rather than guessing. Open the camera app in good light and tap 0.5x, 1x and 3x in turn. Each tap should snap to a different view. A working 3x is noticeably sharper than pinching in from 1x.
If tapping 3x only softens and crops the picture, the telephoto lens is not engaging and the phone is faking the zoom digitally. That is a camera that has stopped working, and any part of a Galaxy S25 that has stopped working puts it in Faulty. Choose Faulty when you quote and the number will not change on us.
It does, and this is the one that catches Galaxy S25 owners out most. A lens cover is glass. Any crack or chip anywhere on the phone forces Faulty, and it does that even when the camera behind it takes a perfect photo. Run a fingernail across each of the three rings: a scratch glides, a chip catches. At 256GB that takes the phone from $320 at Average to $68 at Faulty. Learn it as one rule rather than a list: if anything on the phone does not work, the phone is Faulty. Not one grade down, straight to Faulty. A silent earpiece, a mic nobody can hear you on, a button that no longer clicks, a camera that will not engage, a fingerprint reader that will not read, a charging port that only takes at one angle.
Then there is a short set that grades Faulty while the phone works fine: any crack or chip, screen burn-in, an aftermarket or replaced display, a bent frame, and an engraving. If one of those is true, pick Faulty. It is a price, and it is a price we honor.
Screen size is the quickest answer: the Galaxy S25 is 6.2 inches and the Galaxy S25 Plus is 6.7. Capacity helps too, because the Plus starts at 256GB and the Galaxy S25 is the one sold with 128GB. There is a third check inside the phone: open Settings, tap Display, and look for a Screen resolution row. The Plus has one. Yes. Cracks and chips force Faulty, on the screen, the back glass or the lens covers, and they do it however well the phone works. Faulty is a price rather than a refusal. A cracked 128GB pays $60 and a cracked 256GB pays $68. Choose Faulty at the quote step and post it as it is. Please do not have it repaired first: a replacement display is itself a Faulty trigger, so a repair costs you money and does not buy the grade back.
Faulty. The panel is AMOLED, like every Galaxy S, and AMOLED can hold a permanent ghost of anything that never moves. Brightness up, dim room, plain white screen, look for the shadow of the clock or the navigation bar. The Galaxy S25 Plus page runs through that test at length and it works identically on this phone.
No. Samsung phones are not graded on a battery percentage here, so there is no figure to find and no settings screen to go looking for. If you have read our iPhone pages, that rule is an Apple rule and it stops at Apple.
The battery only reaches your grade through the same door as everything else. A battery that has stopped doing its job, one that dies at 30 percent or cannot see out a morning, is a fault and the phone quotes as Faulty. A battery that is simply older than it used to be is not.
Faulty, on both counts. The reader on a Galaxy S25 is ultrasonic and it lives under the screen glass, which is why it can quietly stop working on a phone that looks brand new, and why it often stops after a screen repair. Lock the phone and open it with your thumb three times. Three failures, or a phone that has gone back to asking for your PIN, is the answer. Face unlock is treated the same way, so try that too.
Yes, and unlocked comes out on top at every grade and both capacities on this model. An unlocked 256GB in Average condition pays $320 while the same phone locked to AT&T pays $214. A phone with no power cannot be tested, so we would be guessing at what we were buying, and your photos, messages and saved passwords cannot be erased off it, which we are not willing to leave to chance. Send it in anyway on a free label. We wipe it to Department of Defense standards and recycle it for nothing, or post it back to you for nothing. Your call.

Google FRP has to be cleared, which means removing your Google account first and factory resetting second. Do it the other way round and the next owner hits a locked setup screen. Samsung's reactivation lock has to be off, so switch off Find My Mobile and remove your Samsung account too. The IMEI has to be clean, meaning nothing reported lost or stolen, no carrier block, and no unpaid balance against it.
The fourth is Knox. A tripped Knox counter is permanent, it happens the first time a phone is rooted or flashed with custom software, and it cannot be undone. We cannot buy that Galaxy S25 at any price.
Erase in this order: Google account off in Settings, Accounts and backup, then Samsung account off and Find My Mobile off, then Settings, General management, Reset, Factory data reset.
