Not today, no. Both sizes pay the same at all six conditions, which is why the two columns above are identical. It is unusual and we would rather point it out than have you assume the page is broken. On most phones the bigger size pays a premium, and on the Galaxy A54 that replaced this one it is worth about ten dollars. On the A53 it is worth nothing, so pick whichever size you actually have and move on to grading it properly.

Touch the back. The A53 is plastic. The A54 is glass and noticeably colder and more slippery. The A53's screen is 6.5 inches, a fraction larger than the A54's 6.4. To be certain, open Settings and tap About phone: SM-A536U or SM-A536U1 is an A53, SM-A546U or SM-A546U1 is an A54. They are worth different money, so it is worth ten seconds.

Heavy wear you can feel. Run a fingernail over the screen and the frame: if it catches on scratches or dents, that is Fair, even if the phone looks acceptable in a photo. What Fair does not include is cracks or chips. A single crack, anywhere, is Faulty instead. Most four year old phones that have lived without a case land in Fair, and there is no shame in picking it.

Yes. A cracked A53 pays $7, and that is a real offer rather than a rejection. Cracks and chips on the screen, the back or a camera lens cover all put the phone in Faulty regardless of what still works. So does anything that has stopped working: a dead speaker, a camera that will not focus, a charging port that needs the cable held at an angle.

No. Samsung phones have no battery percentage rule with us, so there is nothing to check and no screen to photograph. A four year old A53 will not hold charge the way it did and that is expected and priced in. The exception is a battery that has stopped doing its job entirely: will not charge, will not hold, cuts out with charge showing. That is a failed part, and a failed part is Faulty.

That is burn-in and it grades Faulty. The A53's Super AMOLED panel is beautiful and it does retain images that sat still for months, usually a keyboard, a status bar or a game overlay. We buy them, and yes it changes the price. The table on this page is for an unlocked phone. Choose AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon or another carrier in the quote tool and you will see that phone's own number. If the phone is paid off, most carriers will release it if you ask, and it is worth doing before you send it to us.

Not yet. A phone under an installment plan or a lease belongs partly to somebody else, and we do not purchase devices under financial obligations. Get the payoff figure from your carrier, clear the balance, then quote it here as a normal phone.

Three things, and all of them are about whether the next owner can use it. A Google account lock, which happens when the phone is reset without the account being removed first. A tripped Knox counter from rooting or custom firmware, which never resets. And an IMEI that comes back reported lost or stolen, blacklisted or blocked by a carrier.

Any of those and we cannot buy at any grade. The first is the only one you can fix, and it takes a minute: remove the Google account, switch off Find My Mobile, then reset.

Not as a sale. Without power there is no way to test the phone and no way to clear your data off it, so we will not put a number on it. What we will do is recycle it for free, wipe whatever storage can still be reached to Department of Defense standards, and dispose of the rest properly. If you would rather have it back, that is free too.

Somewhere that quotes a four year old mid-range phone at all, honestly, and plenty of places will not. Beyond that, look for a price you can see before committing, free shipping in both directions, and a free return if you do not like what the inspection found. That is what we offer, and it is the whole reason to send a phone to a stranger rather than meet one in a parking lot.

None of them. Accessories are not priced into the offer, so they only add postage weight and a chance of loss. The one thing to remove rather than send is the microSD card: our wipe covers the phone's storage, not a card sitting in the tray, and those photos are yours.

If you are hoping for a hundred dollars, no. The best this phone does now is $44 sealed, and a used one in ordinary shape is well under that. What it is worth is more than a drawer pays, and the price only goes down from here. The A53 sold in huge numbers, which is exactly why it is cheap secondhand: there are a lot of them about. If yours is dead rather than tired, take the free recycling and let us destroy the data properly.
