Full screen white image, brightness at maximum, then look at it straight on and again from an angle. Search a browser for a plain white image if you do not have one. What you are looking for is a faint permanent shadow of something that used to be there.

They are two pressure-sensitive zones along the right hand edge, used as shoulder buttons when you hold the phone sideways. It is a good start and not the whole test. The ROG Phone 2 has one port on the bottom and a second on the left edge for charging while you hold it sideways, and either one can fail on its own. Plug a cable into each and confirm the phone charges from both. A port that only works if you hold the cable at an angle counts as a fault, and a fault means Faulty.

There is no percentage rule on Android phones here, so nobody needs to go looking for a battery health screen. The 6000 mAh cell in a 2019 phone will not do what it did new and that is fine. The only battery situation that changes your grade is one that has actually failed, meaning it will not charge, drains in an hour, or drops the phone dead with charge still showing, and that is treated as a functionality fault like anything else.

Keep them. Nothing is required in the box except the phone itself. The clip-on cooler, the bundled case, the 30W charger and the packaging are not priced into any grade, so they add nothing to your payment and they can go astray in transit. Sell the cooler separately if you want, there is a market for it.

No, and here is the honest reason. A dead phone cannot be tested and your data cannot be wiped off it, so we will not quote something we cannot verify. Free recycling is what we offer instead. Send it on the free label, it gets a DoD-grade wipe and proper disposal, and it costs you nothing. If you would rather have it back, that return is free.

Not yet. A phone with a balance still running against it, on an installment plan or a lease, counts as being under a financial obligation, and we do not purchase devices under financial obligations. Clear the balance and it quotes exactly like any other ROG Phone 2 the same day.

No to both, and they are two separate checks. The Google account lock, sometimes called FRP, has to be off, which means signing out of your account and erasing the phone before you mail it. A locked phone cannot be bought at any grade. Separately the IMEI must be clean, so anything reported lost or stolen, blacklisted or blocked by a carrier is one we have to decline.

ASUS sold the ROG Phone 2 unlocked and direct rather than through carrier stores, so the prices here are unlocked prices and that is what almost everybody has. Quote it as unlocked whichever network the SIM came from. No carrier version of this phone in our system pays more than the unlocked figures above.

Rarely, and often they will not list this phone at all, because gaming phones sold in small numbers and carriers price what they see a lot of.
