SELL YOUR ONEPLUS 8 5G
A OnePlus 8 5G pays between $5 and $47 here. Storage and wear decide where you land. The quote takes about a minute and holds for 14 days once you accept it.
Most people call it a trade-in. We call it a Buyback, and here is why the price is different. We wipe every phone to Department of Defense standards. We track it both ways. Then we tell you exactly what we found, before any money moves.
OnePlus sold three phones in the United States that all say OnePlus 8 on the back, and you cannot tell them apart by looking. Open Settings, tap About phone, and read the model number. IN2015 is the one OnePlus sold direct. IN2017 is the T-Mobile one. Both of those are this page. IN2019 is Verizon's OnePlus 8 5G UW, which is a separate phone with its own bands, and the numbers here are not its numbers.
That model number matters for a second reason. An IN2017 that is still tied to T-Mobile is a carrier locked phone, and carrier locked quotes lower than unlocked. You can fix that: ask T-Mobile to release it, then quote it as unlocked. What you cannot fix on your own is a Google account lock. If the phone still asks for somebody's Google sign-in after a reset, we cannot buy it at any grade, so clear that before you do anything else.
Where to sell a OnePlus 8 5G comes down to who still writes a real number for a 2020 Android phone. We do, working or broken. We buy cracked ones. If it will not power on we cannot buy it, but we will recycle it for free and wipe it on the way. Shipping is free in both directions.
LIVE PRICES
The used resale value of a OnePlus 8 5G runs from $5 for a 128GB with a crack in it up to $47 for a sealed 256GB. Most people land somewhere in the middle. A 128GB in Good condition pays $25, and the same phone at 256GB pays $35.
Every figure below comes straight out of our own price feed, so what you read is what we pay today.
| Comparison row | 128GB | 256GB |
|---|---|---|
Brand New | $37 | $47 |
Flawless | $35 | $45 |
Good | $25 | $35 |
Average | $23 | $32 |
Fair | $15 | $21 |
Faulty | $5 | $7 |
HOW IT WORKS
Read your model number off Settings, About phone before you start, then pick 128GB or 256GB, your network, and the grade that matches the wear. Take the case off first. The Buyback price you accept is locked for 14 days.
We email a prepaid USPS label. Sign out of your Google account, factory reset the phone, then box it with something soft around it. Keep the Warp Charge brick, the cable and the case. None of them is priced in and you may as well hang on to them.
Your OnePlus clears inspection within 48 hours of landing on our bench. If it matches what you told us, the money goes out the same day by gift card, PayPal, bank transfer or check. Every phone gets a Department of Defense wipe, including the ones we recycle instead of buy.

ONEPLUS 8 5G BUYBACK QUESTIONS
Storage and condition, nothing else. A 128GB in Good condition pays $25. Move that same phone up to 256GB and it is $35. A 128GB with a cracked screen still pays $5. Run your own combination through the quote tool at the top of the page for the exact figure.
Settings, then About phone, and the model number is right there. IN2015 is the OnePlus 8 that OnePlus sold direct in the US. IN2017 is the T-Mobile one. Both of those quote on this page and both pay the same. IN2019 is a different animal: that is Verizon's OnePlus 8 5G UW, and none of the prices here apply to it. Three phones, one name on the back, so it is worth the ten seconds.
Yes, and it is worth understanding the two things people mean by locked. A carrier lock means T-Mobile still has a claim on which network the phone runs on. We buy those, and there is a carrier option in the quote tool for it, but a carrier locked OnePlus 8 pays less than an unlocked one. If you have finished paying for the phone, ask T-Mobile to release it first and then quote it as unlocked. That is usually a few dollars back for one phone call.
It is the other kind of locked, and this one we cannot work around. Android ties the phone to the Google account that set it up. Reset it without signing out first and the phone comes back asking for that account, which means nobody but you can use it. A phone in that state is worth nothing to anyone, so we do not buy it at any grade. Sign out of your Google account before you reset, and the problem never exists. Same answer for a phone reported lost or stolen, or blocked by a carrier.
Yes, and the grade is Faulty. Any crack or chip anywhere on the phone, screen, back glass or a camera lens cover, lands it there. It does not matter that the phone still works perfectly. That is a price, not a rejection: $5 for a 128GB and $7 for a 256GB. Pick Faulty when you quote and nothing changes when we open the box.
Not on its own, and there is no percentage to chase. Android phones do not carry the battery health rule that iPhones do, so nobody needs to go hunting through Settings for a number. What does matter is whether the battery works. A phone that will not hold any charge, or that dies at 40 percent, has a part that has stopped working, and anything that has stopped working grades Faulty. A battery that is merely tired is not a fault.
Light wear you cannot pick out from arm's length. Hold the phone at reading distance under a normal lamp: if nothing jumps out, that is Good. Average means light wear your fingernail cannot feel. Fair means heavier wear you can feel but no cracks and no chips. Flawless means no marks at all, which is rare on a phone this old unless it lived in a case. If you are torn between two grades, pick the lower one and you will not be surprised.
Yes. The OnePlus 8 has an AMOLED panel and AMOLED panels burn in, usually where the navigation bar or the clock sits. Test it properly: open a plain white image full screen at high brightness and look for ghosting or a patch of uneven color. Any burn-in grades the phone Faulty. Same for a green tint or a dead line, and same for an aftermarket screen, because a replaced display is a fault whether or not it looks right.
Compare the two numbers before you decide, and remember the carrier's offer usually arrives as bill credit spread over 24 or 36 months, tied to a new line. Ours is cash, or a gift card, or a bank transfer, and it lands the day the phone clears inspection. Our top figure for this model is $47. If the carrier beats that outright, take it. If it does not, or if the credit only pays out while you stay on the plan, the Buyback is the cleaner deal.
We cannot buy it. The reason is practical rather than fussy: a dead phone cannot be tested, and your data cannot be cleared off it, so we will not put a number on it. What we will do is take it off your hands. Send it on a free label and we recycle it properly, with the same Department of Defense wipe we run on everything else. Prefer it back? That return is free too.
Not while there is a balance on it. A phone still sitting on an installment plan or a lease belongs partly to the carrier, and we do not purchase devices under financial obligations. Settle it, own it outright, then come back and quote it like any other phone. Nothing else changes.
Sign out first, reset second, in that order. Open Settings, tap the account at the top, remove your Google account, then go to Settings, System, Reset options, Erase all data. Doing it that way clears the account lock as well as your files. If you would rather follow it step by step, our erase your device page walks through it. We run a Department of Defense wipe on arrival as well, but yours should come off before it leaves the house.
No. Nothing is required in the box on this model, and none of it is priced into the quote. Keep the Warp Charge 30 brick, which is genuinely useful, keep the cable, keep the case. Send the phone on its own and pack it so the screen has some padding around it.
Four ways, and you choose at checkout. A gift card is emailed and works out about 3 percent better than the rest, because the brands add a bonus on top. PayPal is instant, minus PayPal's own 2.99 percent fee. A bank transfer takes 2 to 4 days. A mailed check takes 3 to 5. Whichever you pick, it leaves the same day the phone clears inspection. One exception: a sealed Brand New phone is paid through PayPal only.
It is a small amount and we are not going to dress it up. This phone is six years old and the range on this page tops out at $47. But a phone in a drawer earns nothing and loses a little more every month it sits there. The label costs you nothing, the return costs you nothing, and the worst case is that you get the phone back. That still beats the drawer.
Two storage sizes, six grades, a minute of your time. The number holds for 14 days once you accept it.
