Sell your Galaxy Tab A9 Plus for cash

It depends on storage, connectivity and wear. Take a 64GB WiFi tablet with heavy wear you can feel with a fingernail but no cracks. That is Fair, and it pays $11. The same wear on a 128GB is $13. No, and this is worth saying plainly because a lot of people arrive here expecting one. Samsung never shipped an S Pen with the Galaxy Tab A9 Plus and never sold one for it. The screen does not read a Samsung pen at all. On our Galaxy Tab S pages a missing pen drops the tablet straight to Faulty, because the pen came in the box. Nothing like that applies here. Send the tablet on its own and your grade is untouched.

Measure the screen or read the model number. The Galaxy Tab A9 Plus has an 11 inch screen and its model numbers start SM-X21, so SM-X210 for WiFi and SM-X215, SM-X216B or SM-X216R for cellular. The smaller Galaxy Tab A9 is 8.7 inches and starts SM-X11. Settings, then About tablet, then Model number gives you the answer in five seconds. Quote the wrong one and the price you are shown is not the price you get paid.

Yes. A crack or a chip anywhere, screen, back or camera glass, moves the tablet to Faulty. That is a price, not a refusal. A 64GB in that state pays $4 and a 128GB pays $4. Pick Faulty when you quote, tell us what is wrong, and the figure you saw is the figure that lands.

Then it grades Faulty. Our rule on Samsung tablets is broad on purpose: if something on the tablet has stopped working, the tablet is Faulty, whatever it looks like. A worn USB-C port is the most common one on this model. Two checks take a minute. Push the cable in and feel for the click, then let go of it and see if it holds. Then wiggle it side to side while the screen is on and watch the charging symbol. A symbol that comes and goes is a failed port. While you are down there, shine a light into the port. Packed pocket lint is not damage and a wooden toothpick lifts it out.

No. Burn-in is an AMOLED problem and the Galaxy Tab A9 Plus has an LCD screen. There is no ghost of the navigation bar waiting to appear and no test you need to run for it. If you do see something odd on a white screen, you are looking at a different fault: a dead pixel that stays black whatever is behind it, or a hairline crack catching the light. A crack is Faulty. A single dead pixel we will judge by hand and tell you what we found.

There is no battery percentage rule on any Samsung tablet, so do not go hunting for a battery health screen. The Galaxy Tab A9 Plus does not have one and we do not ask for a number. A battery that has genuinely failed, meaning the tablet dies at 30 percent or will not run without the cable plugged in, is caught by the same rule as everything else: it has stopped working, so it is Faulty. A battery that is simply older than it used to be changes nothing.

It does not. There is no fingerprint sensor in the power button, none under the screen, none anywhere on the tablet. This surprises people coming from a Galaxy phone. It also means one whole category of failure cannot cost you a grade here, which is not something we can say on many pages.

Neither, and it is worth splitting this into what actually applies.

There is no carrier lock on a tablet, so a Galaxy Tab A9 Plus that lived on Verizon or AT&T quotes exactly the same as one that never had a SIM in it.

What we do need is both accounts signed out. Your Samsung account and your Google account both have to be off the tablet before it ships, because a Google account lock, an FRP lock or a tripped Knox counter means we cannot buy it at any grade. On a cellular model there is one more check: the IMEI has to be clean, so nothing reported lost or stolen and nothing blocked by a carrier. A WiFi Galaxy Tab A9 Plus has no IMEI at all, so that check simply does not exist for it.

Sign out first, erase second, in that order. Open Settings, tap your name at the top and sign out of your Samsung account. Then Settings, Accounts and backup, Manage accounts, and remove your Google account. Only then go to Settings, General management, Reset, Factory data reset. Doing it the other way round can leave the tablet locked to an account you have already signed out of. There is a step by step walkthrough on our erase your device page. We run a Department of Defense grade wipe on arrival too, but yours needs to come off first.

Take it out and keep it. A factory reset wipes the tablet's own storage and leaves the memory card exactly as it was, photos and all. The card is also not worth anything to us, so leaving it in is pure loss. There is a small pinhole tray on the edge. A paperclip pops it open, the card comes out, and the empty tray goes back in before the box is taped shut.

Keep all of it. Accessories are not priced into a Buyback, so a book cover, a keyboard folio, a case or the wall plug adds nothing to what you are paid and only gives things a chance to go missing in the post. Just the tablet. On some of our Galaxy Tab S pages there is one exception, the S Pen, because those tablets shipped with one. The Galaxy Tab A9 Plus did not, so there is no exception here at all.

Get both numbers before you decide, and read what the carrier offer is made of. A carrier trade in is usually bill credit spread over 24 or 36 months and tied to a new line, so leaving early costs you the rest of it. We cannot buy that one, and the reason is practical rather than fussy. A tablet with no power cannot be tested, and your data cannot be cleared off it, so we will not put a number on it.
