The PS5 Pro has no disc drive inside it. Sony sells the Disc Drive as a separate part that clips on. So the rule about a console that will not read discs only applies to a PS5 Pro with a drive attached. If yours came in a bundle with the drive, the console still quotes on this page. A PS5 Pro banned from PlayStation Network is one we cannot buy. A PS5 Pro still carrying a system passcode or a parental lock is one we cannot buy. Neither of those is a Faulty price. Both are a no, and a reset clears the passcode.
We buy used PS5 Pros and we buy broken ones. The best place to sell a PS5 Pro is somewhere that still quotes a faulty console, and we do. The one PS5 Pro we cannot price is one that will not switch on. Send a dead PS5 Pro in anyway and we recycle it free.

Extra controllers are not priced in on a PS5 Pro, so keep them or sell them on their own. Send the controller in the same box as the console.

Yes. The AC power cord has to go in the box with your PS5 Pro. The AC power cord is how we switch a PS5 Pro on, and a console we cannot power on is a console we cannot test. A missing accessory that is needed to test the console pushes the grade to Faulty. The AC power cord is a standard figure of eight cord, so any matching one will do if the original has gone missing.
Keep your Disc Drive, your vertical stand, your games and your headset. None of those are priced into a PS5 Pro quote, so sending them adds nothing to your payout and risks losing them in transit. That includes the PS5 Pro Disc Drive, which Sony sells as its own product. Send the console, the AC power cord and one controller.
A trade-in at a game store or an electronics chain usually comes back as store credit, and it can only be spent in that store. Listing the console on a marketplace pays cash, but the photos, the questions, the packing and any buyer claim are all yours to handle.

A PS5 Pro that overheats or shuts itself off during use is bought at the Faulty price of $90. Overheating and shutting down are both on our Faulty list, and so is a console that powers on but does not work properly. Pick Faulty in the quote tool and the number you see is the number you are paid. Do not open the PS5 Pro to clean it first. A damaged cover or a missing screw makes the console worth less.
A scratch is wear, not damage. Light marks you cannot see at arm's length are Good. Marks you can see but not feel with a fingernail are Average. Wear you can feel with a fingernail is Fair. A crack or a chip anywhere on the PS5 Pro is Faulty, with no exceptions, and that includes a cracked side cover. An engraved PS5 Pro is Faulty as well, and engraving is Faulty on every device we buy without exception. Run a fingernail over the worst mark and you have your answer.
No. A PS5 Pro that will not turn on cannot be tested, and your account and saves cannot be cleared off it, so we do not put a number on it. We will take it off your hands for free instead. Send it on a free label and we recycle it properly and wipe the drive to DoD standards. Ask for it back and the return postage is free as well.
No. A PS5 Pro banned from PlayStation Network is one we cannot buy at any grade. A ban stops the sale completely, the same way a stolen console does. A ban does not drop the console into Faulty pricing. Sign in on the console and try to go online before you start a quote if you are not sure.
Take the system passcode and the parental controls off your PS5 Pro before you send it. A PS5 Pro that arrives with a system passcode, a parental lock or a linked account still on it is a console we cannot buy, and it goes back to you. Resetting the console clears all three at once. Go to Settings, System, System Software, Reset Options, then Reset Your Console. That wipes the passcode, the users and the games.
A PS5 Pro with payments still running on it is not one we can buy. A console bought on a payment plan, a lease to own agreement or a rental deal counts as being under a financial obligation, and we do not purchase devices under financial obligations. Finish the payments, own the PS5 Pro outright, then quote it here like any other. A liquid damaged PS5 Pro is also outside what we can buy.
Check the front of the console. A PS5 Pro has three ribbed strips across the side covers and no disc slot at all. The PS5 is the tall smooth original with a curved white shell. The PS5 Slim has a flat two piece cover with a seam across the middle. You can also read the console name on screen. Go to Settings, System, then System Software, and the console name is listed there. Each model has its own page and its own prices.
Reset your PS5 Pro from the console itself. Go to Settings, then System, then System Software, then Reset Options, then Reset Your Console. Choose the full option, which deletes users, saves and installed games. Before that, go to Settings, Users and Accounts, Other, then Console Sharing and Offline Play and turn it off, so the PS5 Pro is no longer your primary console.
